Purchased iTunes song to mp3/mp4 non-ipod

I just purchased the theme to Star Trek for our daughter. She wants it on her mp3/mp4 player. It's not an iPod (too young for such an expensive item).
It's sitting on my Mac and I can't do a thing with it.
How do I get it onto her player so she can listen to it?
Thanks!
susan

iTunes downloads will only play on iPods or iTunes
phones due to the DRM (Digital Rights Management)
copy protection. However if you burn it to an audio
CD you can import it back as an MP3 track. You'll
lose some quality in the process but you'll be able
to use the track on other devices.
Thank you very much -- I Just went in and checked iTunes, and I'm not certain what to do -- do I export it or what?
Thanks -- this is the first time I'm trying to do this --

  • I cannnot get my newly purchased itune songs to download to my ipod nano

I have purchased new songs but cannot get them downloaded to my nano.  As soon as I hit the icon for my nano in the top right corner it just disappears

You can only sync with one iTunes library/computer. From the information you posted yo are try to sync with another library.
You can however manage music and videos among different computers. See:

  • Can no longer purchase itunes songs on original computer and ipod but...

    Hello,
Originally, I had a iPod nano with video..do not have generation at hand..and used it at iTunes with no issues for music and podcasts.
My purchases and downloads worked fine via my authorized computer.  Mid to late summer, I received an iPod touch as gift and
want to use the iPod touch for video, apps, podcasts and ibooks while keeping the older iPod nano for music only.
At present time, the iPod touch seems to work fine at wi fi hotspots for purchases and downloads of video, apps, podcasts, and
ibooks and magazines.  However, I can't seem to use my authorized computer to purchase songs..but I can listen to previews
and download free podcasts on it.
Please advise as to how to fix this situation....

  • How to I get my purchased iTunes songs downloaded to my new iPod?

I purchased a new Ipod, went to the Apple store and followed all instructions for transferring my Itunes library to it but, it won't sync my purchased songs.

  • My Ipod will not transfer all of its songs to purchased Itunes song transfer.  My last pv crashed, I dont have access to it any more.  I want my library back on Itunes.  ANy help?

My Ipod will not transfer songs.  my old PC crashed and could not recover anything from it.  When I purchased my new Dell, when I loaded Itunes back on to it my content library will only transfer over purchased Itune songs.  I have tons of songs I downloaded from the old "CD" onto my new Itunes account from my Ipod.  Any help?

so then technically I can't transfer the songs off my ipod to my itunes library?  since it is one 1 transfer from pc to ipod...correct?  So when I synch my ipod the warning screen comes up and says "there are content not in the library, erase and synch library to Itunes, only purchased songs can transfer."   Can I leave the songs on my ipod and when I purchase new songs to itunes I can still transfer those correct?  while having the others on there that wont transfer?

  • I accidentally deleted a purchased itunes song but still have it on my ipod.  Is there anyway to restore it to my pc?

I accidentally deleted a purchased itunes song but still have it on my ipod.  Is there anyway to restore it to my laptop from the ipod?  I've seen others with a similar situation and the question was asked if it was still on the ipod but can't find a follow up to point me in the right direction.

Use the Transfer Purchases command in iTunes.

  • How can I transfer purchased itunes from my computer to my iPod without losing/erasing the current songs on my iPod?

How can I transfer purchased iTunes from my computer to my iPod without losing all the songs I currently have on my iPod?  I've already burned the purchased songs onto DVDs, but they still aren't recognized as authorized songs that I can copy onto my iPod.  One other note:  The songs I purchased were done so with iTune versions much earlier than 10.0, does that matter?  I couldn't tell you what version though.

Not sure what you are saying.
What is stopping you from adding the songs?
Are you getting an error message?
    What does it say?

  • Uploading purchased iTunes songs onto iPod

    Hi there,
Can anyone help me, everytime I try to upload my purchased iTunes songs onto my iPod an error message comes up saying I am not authorised to play these tracks on my computer and the tracks do not upload.
    Thanks.

I'm having the same problem - getting an error message telling me that my iPod - which I have updated with most recent iTunes software - cannot play the music I've purchased. What was your solution? What did you figure out? Would appreciate any help.

  • HT1349 I cannot Upgrade To Itunes Plus Or Burn Itunes Songs To Mp3 Cd Disks.

I have ITunes 10.7.0.21 and I cannot Upgrade To ITunes Plus Or Burn ITunes Songs To Mp3 Cd Disks.  Do I not already have the DRM Free Songs that I have already purchased from ITunes over the course of the last year?  How do I get my DRM Free Songs and be able to burn or transfer them. Please advise

I think I solved this for me. I had Netbarrier set to enable "Information Hiding" when I first had this problem. Unchecking that setting solved the problem.

  • If I have converted my purchased iTunes songs to a lower bit rate what will happen when I join iTunes match? Will they match up or will these be stored as duplicates of the same song?

If I have converted my purchased iTunes songs to a lower bit rate what will happen when I join iTunes match? Will they match up or will these be stored as duplicates of the same song?
I ask because I primarily use my work laptop which has limited space so I usually convert my purchases to 160k from 256k in order to save space. I want to sign up for iTunes Match but I'd like to know before I do so I can understand how I will have to set up my library.

What I may do is start a brand new library there, copy my tracks from my work laptop using Home Share and then the script to get things in sync before starting over again there too.
Why create a new library? Just add the tracks from the laptop to the existing library on the Mac.

I was just hoping to hear definitively whether or not there was some sort of intelligence built into iTunes Match that would match these up...
How do you mean? If you down-convert purchased tracks you've fundamentally changed the files so iTunes can no longer recoginize them as "purchased." And, indeed, they no longer are since they are brand new files. Of course these new files will only be "matched" or "uploaded."

    Hi Virginie,
You need to go under the help menu option and sign out from Muse and then install it on the other computer that you want using the creative cloud desktop app.

  • Burning Purchased iTunes Songs...

    Hi there,
As I have noticed on these boards, many people (as am I) are having trouble burning purchased iTunes songs onto CD's. For about three and a half hours, I tried just about everything to fix this- but no luck. Is there any downgrader to jump back to a previous, working edition? Thanks.
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 (Build 2600)

Having similar issues here, but iTunes (6.0.2) doesn't crash. When trying to burn an audio CD (purchased from Music Store) iTunes will act like it is initializing, start burning and then all of a sudden it will finish burning (after 1st song) and then eject the cd (after a minute of sitting there). Message about "attempt to burn disk failed...device failed to respond, unable to recover or retry". I can burn other playlists, just not purchased songs from iTunes.
    Any thoughts?

  • The iTunes Store app crashes every time I try to purchase a song on my 2nd generation iPod touch

Every time I try to purchase a song and hit buy, the app closes. I've tried restarting my iPod several times but it didn't help. Any ideas?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Go to Settings>iTunes and App Store and sign out and sign back in
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Why when I purchase a song on my iPhone or iPod, and then sync it to my iTunes, does it download twice?

I have purchased some songs on my iPhone and my iPod and when I sync them to my iTunes account they get duplicated.  Both songs work.  I can't deselect one, when I try it deselects both.  Same if I try to delete one.  I can delete it from my iPhone or iPod, but when I sync them it gets put right back on there.

There is an issue with the way the account is set up. Songs cannot download "from" a phone or iPod. But the settings can be set for auto download from the account.

  • Is there any limitations to purchasing iTunes songs?

I'm wondering if I should be concerned about anything as far as restrictions on how I can use songs I purchase from iTunes. I thought I heard somewhere that there were certain limitations putting your iTunes songs on different mediums. Or maybe that was the iPod that doesn't allow you to share music or something... It seems as though once I download and purchase an iTunes song onto my Macbook I can do whatever I want with it.
I've purchased many iTunes songs before, I'm only asking because I'm planning on buying a bunch of songs/albums and also I'm basically going to import most of my old CDs I have lying around and put them in iTunes (so I can sell the CDs). And I was wondering if it;s better than going with something like Rhapsody.

They are sold for personal use only and may not be used for public performance. You can get more detail from the Terms of Sale.

    Feel free to compare.
For purchasing downloads, you will find that many of the tracks that cost $1.29 at the iTunes Store can be had for 99 cents at the amazon.com MP3 Download Store.
Rhapsody also offers a subscription option with unlimited listening for a monthly fee, which may be of interest.
