Purchased "like new, perfect condition" car parts. Received junk.
I purchased some cylinder heads and cams off a forum. I paid with paypal.Parts were advertised as being like new, zero issues, low miles, no problems. etc.I had them sent directly to a shop building a motor for me.They were checked and turned out to be damaged. Seller is accusing me of trying to send back different parts than what he sold me. Also insists the parts he sent were not damaged. Seller wants me to ship them back so they can look at them, which I'll gladly do. Is there any way, after I ship them back, the seller can claim they aren't what he sold me? Like that I swapped them or sent different parts back? (there are casting numbers on the heads and cams to verify same parts)Shipping both ways and paying for inspection is $500 at least so far. I don't want to end up not getting refunded. Do I need to somehow prove myself to not lose out on this?We are in a dispute, but not yet a claim. I don't want to do anything I shouldn't.Very expensive parts that are utterly useless to me due to unadvertised damage.
Tricky one. If you send them back and the seller refuses to refund you saying you have switched etc then you would have to escalate to a claim. BUT BE CAREFUL AS YOU ONLY HAVE 20 DAYS TO ESCALATE AND IF HE TAKES HIS TIME THE DISPUTE MAY TIME OUT. Once escalated I can't second guess paypal but "normally" they tend to find in favour of the buyer BUT the buyer has to send the items back trackable to the seller to prove delivery before getting a refund. BUT the seller can appeal and say you did not send the correct items back etc and then it is up to paypal to make the final decision and no way can i advise you which way they will jump. My only hope is that you funded your paypal payment via a credit card so that if the dispute fails you can chargeback via your card issuer. I have 7 days from today to purchase a new car and to keep the payment in the current range its currently in. This is not something I would try to rush into, personally. If this were me, I would shop around for a good rental car rate and go that route for an additional week or two to get things situated, if at all possible. Going into a dealership desparate to buy a car is never a good position negotiation-wise. You can often find inexpensive rental cars from local places (airport locations are typically higher due to the added concession/location fees). Once I bought myself a little time, then I would worry about the new car and financing. This would also allow time to get things straight with the current lender. As far as I know, payments are owed on the loan until the financing company has received the check from your insurance for the balance due, so it seems like it might be unwise to get into a new car payment before the details are worked out with the old loan and it is finalized/closed.

Why do I need to return the old part, if I purchase a new part?
Well, I had a problem with my motherboard, and got it replaced by an on-site tech HP sent me.
The notebook is well out of warranty, aand I paid for the new motherboard+labor.
However, when the tech showed up, he said he won't replace the motherboard unless I give him the old motherboard. He went on to say that this was the "company policy" and he won't let me keep any old part even if I pay for the new part.
I was too tired t o argue with him, and he replaced the motherboard, and took away the old motherboard.
On second thought, this is pretty absurd.
It's like HP telling me "If you purchase a new HP notebook, you'll have to return your old HP notebook back to us".
It would make sense if I was getting a free replacement and the notebook was under warranty. It doesn't make any sense when the notebook is out of warranty and I'm paying for the replacement part.
Think of it, when I purchased the notebook, i obviously paid for the motherboard that came with the notebook. So why does HP get to take it away from me?
If I purchase a new battery from HP store instead of amazon, do I need to return my old battery to HP?
If I purchase a new keyboard from the HP store, do I need to return my old keyboard?
I can give you the case number if you want.
Honestly, if this is the "company policy", I won't ever bother with another HP product again.

View Solution.HP only has new motherboards. They sell the bad ones into the Chinese market and they show up on eBay and similar places. You have a new motherboard. If you can tell us the part number of what you bought we can tell you the "full" price and the "exchange" price of the part. They should definitely explain the options to you but I think they likely assume you want the lower exchange price.

Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem. -

Please help im desperate. i recently purchased like 100 new songs and it purchased downloaded and synced them to my library and phone, (or so it said), but when i checked my phone they had not been downloaded onto my phone. So i then checked my library and on it every song had been greyed out and had a tiny dotted circle next to each of them. i have tried everything and dont know what else to do. please help asap.

Give this a try:
1. Hook your device up to the computer you sync with and open iTunes
2. Select the Music tab on your Device Profile screen and de-select all of the songs that should have sync'd but did not. If you have the Sync Entire Music Library option selected, deselect that.
3. Sync
4. Go back to the Music tab and re-select the items you want to have sync'd to your device
5. Sync again
6. See if that clears up the dotted circle issue and also syncs the songs to your device

I have just purchased a new iMac OS Xlion version 10.7.3 and I'd like to install Windows. I have a disc for XP but the Boot Camp Assistant manual only refers to Windows 7. Please does anyone know if it will it work with XP.?
Get a Virtual Macine software program, Parallels, VMware Fusion or VirtualBox, and install XP in a virtual machine.
You can't install XP in a Boot Camp Partition with Lion or Mt Lion, only Win 7. -
Hi I recently purchased a new mac computer and would like to sync the music off my iPhone to my new mac.However, my phone and my new mac have different apple Ids.The PC which my phone is synced and has the same apple ID but does not let me transfer the music. Home sharing is not working. How do I successfully transfer and sync the music off my ipone 4 to my mac book pro if they have different Apple IDs? Thanks!
What do you mean the PC won't let you transfer the music? Save your entire iTunes folder (this is assuming that you have all your music stored in your iTunes folder) to an external hard drive. Connect that hard drive to your Mac. Copy the iTunes folder to your computer. Hold down the option key while launching iTunes on your Mac. Select the library you just copied when it ask you to select which library you want to open.

I have a Macbook Pro purchased brand new. I take high quality pictures for customers, these display perfect on my laptop but appear CORRUPT on a USB stick. What is causing this? I can't seem to fix this issue. PLEASE HELP!!

I am using my TC as an external hard drive, I would like to remove my photos from my computer to free up space. I'm wondering:
1. Once the photos are moved, how do I access them via the TC, AND will i still be able to print them and see them the way they were set up in my iphoto on the computer?
2. If I purchase a new computer, will I still be able to access them just as easily?
3. What is the process to move the photos to the TC?
I am afraid that if I "erase" them from my computer I will not be able to access them.Are you still using iphoto?
If so you should NOT move the iphoto library to the TC and use it.

Now what I cannot tell you is if the same rules apply to the new photo app. Apple might have fixed the problem.
For iphoto you should offload the photos to USB drive plugged into your computer.. or any external drive.. the faster the interface the better.

Quick answer if you let iTunes manage your music: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Start iTunes with the option (shift on Windows) key held down and guide it to the new location of the library. -

If you want to copy non-iTunes music off of your iPod (eg, if your old computer doesn't exist), you'll need to use a third party program. I don't know of any free ones anymore, but if you google, you can find several in the $19 range. -
I just purchased a new mac mini and would like to use my old dell monitor. I tried a HD to VGA adapter converter,it plugs in, but nothing shows on the monitor. Any suggestions?
What do you mean by "HD to VGA adapter converter"?
Do you mean have an HDMI to VGA adapter connected the the Mini's HDMI port?
Or maybe you plugged n the the included HDMI to DVI adapter and then connected a DVI to DVI adapter?
In either case that will not work since VGA is analog and the Mini's HDMI port is digital only.
You need to purchase a mini displayport to VGA adapter. It plugs into the Mini's Thunderbolt port.
