Purchased movie downloaded not viewable

Just purchased movie and downloaded. It shows up in my purchased file. When I double click on it it brings up the viewing screen and the status bar shows it is playing but I can't see or hear anything. I can pull up the chapters and I've tried clicking on those but it still does nothing. I've got the most current version of Quick Time. I have a Dell computer and have the current version of ITunes for Windows loaded. What is the solution? This is my first purchase from ITunes and will probably be my last....

  • Purchased movie does not show up in Apple tv

    Hello,
I just bought a movie (Valkryie with Tom Cruise)...and for some reason it does not show up in my purchased movies on any of my devices (Apple TV, iPhone) and it also does not show up as purchased in my iTunes library.
This is the only movie where this has happened. Even stranger, I could not find the movie via Apple TV (not even by search) but could find it in iTunes (bought it and it downloaded to my Macbook). Even after it downloaded, it still does not show up in my other devices.
    ANyone have any ideas??

Apple has not reached a deal with all movie studios to allow the re-downloading of purchased content. The likelihood is that the movie you have purchased is from a studio that has not licensed its products for re-downloading.

  • I can't find purchased movies downloaded to my ipad 2. where are they and how do I play them

I have purchased movies that I have downloaded to my macbook pro and manually added them to my iPad 2. They show as files when iPad is connected to the macbook pro using the sync cable. There is no app that appears to work to find them, and iTunes and the app store only retrieve 3rd party movie providers during a search, I know youneed iBooks to view a book, is there an "iMovies" for feature movie watching not home movie creation?

Look in the videos app for your movies on the iPad.

  • Purchased movies suddenly not playing.

These are movies with the little cloud in the top right. I push play, it seems like it is about to start, and then it just goes right back to the previous screen (with the play button) in one second. There is NO error message. I have no issue buying or renting NEW movies. Those work fine. I am not looking to stream/share from a computer in the house. I just want to play from the cloud just as I have always managed to do without the slightest problem. Everything seems to be updated and I am signed in to my account on apple tv (hence being able to purchase new movies). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Hello Gambett
Check to see if you can download your purchased movie. If you can, delete it and download it again to test. If you are still having issues, then report the issue to the iTunes Store.

  • My purchased movies do not show up in my itunes

I only see 2 of my 30 purchased movies in my iTunes store, how do I get them to appear. I also do not see my icloud anywhere to check. Thanks

Whether you can redownload films depends upon what country that you are in, and if you've moved countries since buying them. If you can redownload them then they will show in the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage on your computer's iTunes, or you can go into Edit > Preferences (iTunes > Preferences on a Mac) and on the Store tab tick the 'show iTunes in the Cloud purchases' and they might then show in the Movies part of your library with a cloud icon against them for redownloading. If not all films show then check to see if you've hidden any of them : iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases.
But ideally you'd be keeping and maintaining a backup copy of all of your purchases, any item could be removed from the store by the rights-holders at any time

  • How can I change a language on a purchased movie. Not the subtitles, but on screen language. I have watched this particular move many times in English, now the characters are speaking French.

How can I change the on screen language in a movie from French to English? Not subtitles, but spoken language. The purchased movie is from iTunes and I'm on a iMac. The movie in question has been played a number of times in English, and suddenly it's the French version.

iTunes: Language settings for video - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5562 - Alternate language support may be available as audio track and/or subtitles, but not available for all movies

  • ITunes purchased movies do not run on macbook pro retina display - Error message: HDCP not supported.

    Hello community,
If i try to play a iTunes purchased movie on may Macbook Pro 15 Retina, a Error message comes up "HDCP not supported". I try to run it on the notebook screen, I have not plugged in any external device (monitor, beamer..).
    Full Error message in german:
Der gewählte Film kann auf dem angeschlossenen Bildschirm nicht wiedergegeben werden.
Dieser Film kann nur auf Bildschirmen wiedergegeben werden, die HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) unterstützen.
    Any ideas?

I had this same problem.  What worked for me- not sure which one did it, but I went to System Preferences-Displays, and I turned off "Show mirroring options in the menu bar when available" and I also changed my resolution from "Best for retina display" to scaled "More Space".  The other scaling options seemed to do similar.

  • HT2729 A purchased movie did not back up from iPad to computer when synced performed

I tried to sync a purchased movie. Did not back up to computer. Also lost artwork for movie picture. Show like a white tv screen

Purchased movies don't backup to iTunes, they should transfer into iTunes via the transfer purchases feature. Make sure that you actually selected the movie to sync in the Movies Tab of iTunes while you are connected to the computer to sync. Then sync again.

  • Old .mov files not viewable in qt for 10.4.3

worked perfectly, thanks! (when i checked my old pb's scavenged hd the quicktime folder had several codecs not found in the new one-must have been installed with various hardware drivers, i guess.)
    thanks!

  • HT1904 Purchased movie, downloaded music? How can I stop and get a refund, not what I ordered. No number to call.

I purchased a movie but it downloaded an album instead. I froze the download before it began but I do not want the music. How can I get rid of the downloads so, I can get the movie. Or get a credit?

TO get a refund you'll want to contact iTunes support.

  • HT204370 Ipad movie download not showing up on itunes purchase history

I downloaded a digital version of a movie with the promo code on my iPad, but it won't register that I did it on my laptop and I can't download it on any other device.  Any thoughts?

Whether you can re-download films will depend upon what country that you are in and whether the studio allows re-downloading (and possibly if the code only gives you a one-time download). You should be able to copy it from your iPad to your computer's iTunes via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases and you can then sync it to your other devices.

  • My iTunes purchased movies will not sync to the New iPad(3) even though I have an HD version and an SD version. Are there specs somewhere for media files?

I have purchased a few movies in iTunes on the MacBook Pro and after dowloading, I am not able to sync them to my new iPad. I look at the contents of the download and I have an HD file and an SD file, I assumed it would sync the SD file automatically if it cannot handle the HD on the device (although it should be able to).
What are the different reasons a movie won't sync to iPad (frame rate, file size, definition, etc.) and what are the options to make these files compatable with my iPad? Can I rip them again or run them through a conversion utility? Is there a setting in iTunes somewhere I am missing?
Is there a post somewhere thatr already covers this? If so, I can't find it. Would be great to have a baseline of what can be handled by device so I can figure out how to make my media compatable.

the spcs page on this site state which video formats the ipad supports
I'd suggest converting your old videos to one of those formats
handbrake is a free program which does this for you
itunes used to be able to too when I right clicked incompatible media but don't see the option any more
or maybe it only show when one right click incompatible media and currently my lib don't have any
about the music then it's odd what formats are they?
if they are acc protected have you tried to remove the DRM this can be don using itunes as
apple don't use DRM for music any more

  • Apple TV 1st generation. purchases movies are not synch with itunes anymore. Hard disc is full now. How to transfer to MAC.

Sorry for my bad englich. I have an apple TV first generation for somie years now. I used to buy movies. Via Itundes sync they got transferred to my mac mini. This is not working anymore (half a year). Hard disk on apptle TV is full now.
I did not change any configuration. Computer and TV are activated for same store account.

Are you trying to transfer stuff to iTunes from AppleTV or from AppleTV to iTunes.
Syncing of purchases from AppleTV to iTunes is no longer a necessity if your country supports purchases in the cloud - you should just be able to download old purchases from the internet in iTunes - go to the iTunes Store page with the home icon and look for the Purchased Quick Link on the far right.
If AppleTV is full and you want different content you will need to change the sync Settings in iTunes - you can sync manually which is what I preferred.
