Purchased movies won't transfer iPhone to MacBook

I purchased a movie on my iPhone - but when I connect to my MacBook I can't transfer it. It says "play movie" but the button doesn't work when I click it.
Any suggestions?

I fixed the problem myself! I went into isync and clicked on "reset sync history". It worked and now my calendars are syncing back and forth just fine. I hope this helps anyone who has the same problem.

HT1338 my tv shows and movies won't play on my MacBook Pro display due to HDCP

As of today, I cannot play my movies or televison shows on my MacBook Pro. They have always played before and my software is up to date. The dialogue box shows "This movie can be played only on displays that support HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection)."

This sounds like these shows are in a HD format and are not supported on the iPhone 3gs. I would recommend downloading the SD version of these shows and then sync these to your device.

iPad (3) with iOS 6 compared to iPhone 5 in iTunes Store. I can't see purchased movies, TV programmes etc on the iPhone. Is this just my iPhone or yours too?

the Purchased button has been added to the More button in iTunes on iPhone 5. Why was this not there before? Odd.

I bought a movie through iTunes and want to put it on my iPhone. I keep getting the message, "1 item could not be synced. See iTunes for more information" when I drag & drop it over on my iPhone icon. Any idea what's going on? It's an HD version, I don't know if that makes a difference or not. Help!

"When you purchase an HD video on a supported device or computer, only HD video will be downloaded. To download the SD version, you need to download the video again from your Purchased page. Conversely, if you purchase an HD video on an unsupported device, the SD version will be downloaded. Then, you will need to download the HD version from your Purchased page. Learn more about downloading previous purchases.
Note: Some previously purchased movies may not be available in iTunes in the Cloud. At the time of purchase, these titles will continue to download both HD and SD version to your Mac or PC. These movies will indicate that they are not available in iTunes in the Cloud on their product details page in the iTunes Store."
So it sounds like you can download the SD version as a past purchase, if this is permitted by the studio (not all movies are allowed to be redownloaded). Check the link above for how to do this.

Some video files won't transfer from old Macbook to Macbook Air

Hi all,
My old Macbook (circa 2008) recently stopped working, so I upgraded to a new Macbook Air. I had the harddrive of my old Macbook extracted and made into an external harddrive, and then used Migration Assistant to transfer my data to the Macbook Air. I then upgraded to OS X 10.9. However, I have found that several video files I had saved on my old Mabook do not appear on my Macbook Air. These are a mix of .mpeg and .avi files. I reconnected the external harddrive and located these files on it, and tried copying them to my Macbook Air one by one, but they won't transfer and I recieve the error message that the operation cannot be completed because the file is in use. I can play them in quicktime or VLC direct from the external harddrive, but can't save them to my Macbook Air. I tried restarting my computer, reconnecting the hard drive and so on, but to no avail. I tried transferring other videos that had come accross with Migration Assistant, and these copy to my Macbook Air without any trouble. But the files that didn't get transferred just won't. Is there anything I can do to get these files onto my new computer?
Any help is appreciated!

Open the library on the EHD with the Finder as shown in this screenshot
and look in the Masters folder to see if any of the original files have zero bytes? Do not make any other changes/alterations, i.e. look but don't touch. If you do find zero byte image files then it's not the copy process that is the culprit but the files are bad to start with.

ITunes-purchased movie won't sync to iPod

OK I'm going insane trying to find a solution to this problem - I recently purchased a movie from iTunes store, and it works fine on iTunes, but when I try to sync it to my 5th-gen iPod I get an error message saying that it can't be synced because it can't be played on my iPod. Obviously it is the correct format, because I bought it from iTunes, but to verify I checked all the formatting against 2 other iTunes purchased movies that DO work on my iPod - they are identical, the only difference being the 'Fairplay' version (the ones that work are version 2, the one that won't sync is version 3). I've trying resetting, restoring, reauthorizing... nothing works, I still get the same error message. Yes, it's a purchase, not a rental, and no it isn't HD. And of course there's space on the iPod and all the sync settings are correct, and the iTunes and iPod software are all updated. I tried mailing the iTunes support, but they just sent me a link to the article on the Support pages about syncing movies, which is completely useless for iTunes purchases because it just says they should all work.
Please tell me someone knows a solution to this problem!

Which version of the firmware do you have on your iPod? Is it the latest (1.3), or earlier? I ask because of the information regarding Fairplay version 2 versus Fairplay version 3 on this website:

"1.3 firmware has bug fixes and also an updated bit of code to play anything from the iTunes store that has a fairplay version 3. Most stuff on iTunes has Fairplay version 2, but some more recent videos have version 3. If you arent' downloading a lot of DRM'd content from iTunes, it likely isn't critical, but there have been no major complaints about the 1.3 update. At least compared to other updates. for instance 1.2 WAS a shoddy update. They pulled it. 1.2.1 fixed it... Purchased movies won't play on apple TV

I have several purchased movies that are visible in my iTunes library and on my apple TV. When I try to play them, I get an error message that says "iTunes is currently unavailable. Please try again shortly" after the account authorization appears. My music works just fine and a movie that I rented last night plays fine too. Anybody else having this issue? Fixes? Thanks ahead of time!

OOur internet service is not always fast enough to stream directly on Apple TV which is why we want to use AirPlay from the iPad to Apple TV. When we try to play a movie it starts for one second and then crashes out. This does not happen with every TV show - we watched 8 episodes of Season 4 with no problem, but it would not play episode 9 or episode 1 of season 5.

ITunes won't allow me to send purchased movies to my iPad/iPhone

Says my Mac is not authorized.but it plays the movie in itunes and on my atv2. My Mac is authorized. and both the mac and the Ipad are using the same itunes account name. and all devices are authorized.

Here are a couple of suggestions:
1. You probably already know how to authorize/ deauthorize a computer, but in case you don't, you need to go onto iTunes drop down menu under Store-Authrize my computer to ensure that the iPad is authorized to play you're purchased films.
2. You can check your account under the same drop down menu to see how many devices have been authorized already. You can have up to 5, I believe. You view this under "my account" info.
I haven't used atv2, so I don't know whether it too requires "authorization", so you could double check that info. too.
Oftenn times, if your using multiple devices, you might be not be authorizing each device, but as I understand it, that is one of the ways Apple can control the purchases made on iTunes.

Rented movie won't transfer to iPhone or iPad

I rented a movie in iTunes and using the movies tab of my iPad, I clicked "Move" to move the movie over to the iPad. WHen I sync the device, it goes through the motions and after finishing, it moves the movie back over the iTunes side of the display. Effectively, not transferring the rented movie.
I tried this same thing on my iPhone and got the same result.
I'm using the latest version of iTunes and the iOS 5.1 on both the iPad 2 and the iPhone 4.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I'm not sure of this is the section...
I just purchased a movie through the iTunes store and it won't play smoothly at all. I get 5 minutes (if I'm lucky) of smooth play and synced sound but then the picture freezes and lags then unfreezes all the while the audio is still playing without issue.
I've downloaded the most recent version of iTunes (I dl'd the correct bit version).
Any ideas how to make this work?

ITunes purchased movie won't sync to iPod or iPad "not authorized"

I purchased a movie today and can watch it on my AppleTV and on my computer. However it won't sync to my iPod or my iPad because it says "this computer is not authorized." I have:
1. Checked that Home Share is on.
2. Authorized my computer.
3. Deauthorized and authorized my computer.
4. Looked for the movie directly from the Purchased tab on iTunes within the iPod and can't see any movie purchases there at all.
HELP, this is going to drive me batty!

I recently bought a movie off my iPod. I wanted to watch it on my mac so I synced my iPod to it and the movie showed up in iTunes without the album artwork. When I tried to play the movie it wouldn't play. There is, however, a sync icon next to the movie. I tried clicking 'transfer purchases from iPod' but that still wouldn't work. How can I get the movie to play?

Is the computer authorized for the account that poruchased them?
