Purchased music gone after PC crash

Hi
Hope someone can help. I had a PC crash and had to reinstall everything from scratch. My purchased music has gone, how do I get it back? I've bought it, I have the record of it in "Purchased", but how can I get it from iTunes again without having to buy it again? Many thanks

I had the exact same thing happen to me, I emailed apple about it and they replyed saying they put all of my bought songs in a "Download queue". Any songs I bought that were later modified at the iTunes Store they could not do but in my case none had been modified. once they had set up a download queue all I had to do is hit Advance at the top of iTunes and select "Check For Purchases". I would recommend doing that first to see if that works, if not email apple and Im sure they will set up a download queue for you. Goto this link http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/musicstore/lostmusic/ at the bottom of the page is where you can fill out some basic info and email them about your problem. This is where I went to email and then redownload all my bought songs. once you have done that make sure you back up all the songs you have bought to a CD, DVD or External Hard drive.

  • Why is my purchased music gone?

Why is my purchased music gone from iTunes? When I click on purchased, it's not there.
If I can't get it back I will NOT buy any more music from iTunes ever again.

Did the music disappear after updating? It might still be on your computer then.
This article has a lot of useful information for looking for your purchases:

The path C:\users\owner\appdata\local\apple\apple software update\bonjour64.msi cannot be found. verify that you have access to this location and try again or try to find the installation package "bonjour64.msi" in a folder from which you can install the product bonjour.
Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on 25 June 2010. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp. Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Bug: All music disappeared (gone) after app crash

I had 3000+ songs in my music collection.  I was in the Alarm app and the alarm sound option.  I selected a sound/song from my music collection (heard the sample music).  Then I changed my mind and selected a different song.  The Alarm App froze.  I pressed the home button, restarted the Alarm app and tried again.  This time, there was no music to select.  I exited the alarm app and clicked on my Music app.  All music gone.  Went to Settings, General, About...the Song count = 0.
I don't know whether this is a hardware or software problem, but the fact that something so basic is even possible, is quite worrying.  Anyone else had similar strange experiences?

    Me too!
As a brand new iPod user, I have to say, I'm not impressed. Most of my library was ripped from original CDs. I hope they can be found on my system somewhere and fixed. And fast!
I am travelling overseas for three months tomorrow and now can't take my tunes with me.
    Not good.

  • Itunes won't open, music gone after installing ipod/itunes software again

I was using itunes to purchase music and burn it to cds. I recently got a nano and tried to install the software last night. Now Itunes won't open, and I don't even see any of my downloaded music on my computer. It's possible that it's a problem with my computer, but we're also looking into the issues reported with Norton, etc. I should know more by tonight. My question is how do I get my music back if it was somehow deleted by this process? Obviously I've already purchased it, but I don't remember all the songs and I didn't have a backup.

You need to search your hard drive(s) and recycle bin for the music files.
Purchased music will always have a .m4p file extension.
Without a backup, if the files are gone, the music is gone.

  • Purchased music skips after a few days

My iPod skips my iTunes' purchased music after a few days. When I connect my iPod to the iMac again the songs are back on my iPod but only for a couple of days.
Can some of you help me out to solve this problem?

The same thing happens to me, and unfortunately, it almost always seems to happen at the worst times (getting on a long plane flight.)
I've done a lot of research on this topic in the Apple Discussions groups, and have tried all the suggested remedies:
    (1) Re-setting ipod
    (2) Re-loading music
    (3) Updating firmware, software
Net/net, when you update your iPod, and connect to iTunes, or do any of above, it will work for a little while, and then it will just start skipping purchased music again.
I believe this must be result of defective players, or bug in some of players, as not everyone has this problem (my wife's works fine) - but based on number of comments re. this problem I see on this forum, many people do, and Apple should offer exchange.

  • Purchased music gone

I created playlists in daughter's laptop (we were sharing her computer).  All purchased music from iTunes.  Daughter, in all her teenage wisdom, felt it was an attack to her privacy and belongings so she deleted my playlists.  Now, I purchased a new laptop which did not show my music.  That's when I found out daughter had deleted my playlists.  My new laptop develop problems and upon going back to Best Buy, they decided to give me ANOTHER laptop.  Now, my question is:
Surely ITUNES has a record of all my purchases (i.e., both my daughter's and my purchases).  Where can I find the music we've purchased to date so I can download it to my new laptop??  I just can't believe ALL my music is gone..... I've invested money here, know what I mean???

    Calm down.
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
You really should always have a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.

  • HOw do I get my purchased music back after having to restore my Ipod touch

I had to restore my Ipod touch because of a corrupted file. How do I get my purchased music back?

The answer is that the iCloud advertising in Danish speaks of restoring apps, books and music and shows this, and in small print / gray print adds that in some countries this is not available. The Danish copy does not say that in Denmark the service is unavailable (suppose the English copy in US spelling showed the service, but did not say that the service was unavailable in the US).
    http://www.apple.com/dk/icloud/features/apps-books-backup.html
After another couple of hours of hunting around, a Knowledge Base article in Danish turns up which begins by saying that purchases from the App Store, the iBookstore and the iTunes Store are restorable, but in small print / gray print advises which countries the service in fact covers. Denmark is not covered.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4539?viewlocale=da_DK
Naturally, the Danish copy should in both the advertising and in the additional information start by clarifying that music is not restorable for Danish customers. Instead, the Danish copy extolls a service that does not cover the iTunes Store in Denmark. The term for this in Danish is 'vildledende markedsføring' which is to say that the marketing is misleading.

  • Purchased music disappeared after Match turned off?

Ok so for various reasons I have turned off Match for my iPhone 5 and synced my physical music library onto my phone (4024 songs), however i've discovered that none of my purchased music or playlists will sync to my phone. All the said purchased music has been unchecked and check again on my iTunes library, and the iPhone menu on itunes has 4024 songs checked to be synced. When I do sync the phone however only 2745 songs actually transfer to the phone, the remainder are my purchased songs. I have only had this issue since the ios7 update. Anyone help?

There is no message in my inbox nor the notification center. Maybe I turned the phone off while it was downloading the message?

  • Downloaded music gone after authorizing computer?? Where is it??

I recently purchased a new Dell laptop with Windows 8 and downloaded I Tunes. I had it on my old laptop & everything worked just fine. I had been purchasing music from the  I Tunes store but had not had a chance to sync my I Pod Nano lately. I tried today and it wouldn't at first because my new laptop had not been authorized. Once I got this issue resolved, I could log in to I Tunes and see the music I needed to download as each song had the little cloud and arrow on it.  I selected Download ALL and then they did- the status bar at the top was moving showing the songs and then it finished.
However, when I went to plug my I Pod in to the USB to sync it like I used to do on the old laptop, it required that I log back in to I Tunes- which I did. At that point, a new screen opened for my I Pod  and the purchased music was no longer on the screen. It wasn't anywhere. I selected check for available downloads and it says all have been downloaded. But where??? The new music did show up on my I Pad and I Phone immediately- and that's great- but I wanted it on my I Pod. The only music showing on my I Pod and in my Library on I Tunes are the songs that were already on there.$ 14 later- I only have the music on 2 of the 4 devices.
How do I find the music again in I Tunes or use my I Pad to get the music to sync to my I pod? Where is the music that I downloaded on my laptop? I've looked everywhere. I called the City Mac store and they suggested plugging my I Pad into my computer but the options they told me to try didn't even come up to back it up to my laptop... so now I can't even do that either... So frustrated. Any help from anyone?? Thanks in advance.

See Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for general advice on repairing iTunes, however you don't need iTunes to be working on the laptop in order to copy the iTunes folder from it. See this migrate iTunes library post for suggestions.
Your iTunes purchases should be available for redownload from the cloud, but the earlier link should show how to recover all of the media from your devices, should it be needed, and associate the devices with the new library. Moving the library over is much easier than recovering the data from your devices.
Ideally you would backup you library and personal data on a regular basis, using iTunes in the Cloud as a secondary backup or for access to purchases from your devices.

  • Purchased music gone....again. Please help!

Ok, here is the deal. I was having troubles with itunes and was forced to re-install it. That went fine, i got all my music back and it works as it should. However, I don't have any of the purchased music anymore.....
I can't find anyway to "enable" or "authorize" the computer to play it. Please help me! Thanks.

No, you didn't mention that your purchases weren't on the computer you are using. That was an important piece of information, without knowing that, the assumption is that the purchases are on the computer. Also, when you set up the SPL, you have to make 2 separate entries for protected AAC, then click on the "+", then purchased AAC. That doesn't matter anyway since the purchases aren't even on this system. Store policy states that downloads are a one time deal & it's the USER'S RESPONSIBILITY TO BACKUP IMPORTANT FILES. If you have no backups, you may have a problem getting your purchased music back. Could you possibly provide some SPECIFIC DETAILS as to what is going on & what happened to your purchased content?

  • Purchased music gone from iPhone?

    hi
ok, so, i just bought some new music from itunes over iphone 3g this morning, and i thought it'd be a good idea to create a playlist with it all (purchased music)
i see my recently purchased music is in it, however, music that i bought only a few days ago isn't on my iphone anymore, and nor is it on my itunes on my sync computer.
it shows up under account purchases but i can't find it anywhere...and yes i've used spotlight etc, it's the not being on my iphone bit thats worrying me. i use manual sync so nothing can be deleted without my decision right?
    any help apprecciated thanks guys

Did you try iTunes > File menu > Transfer purchases from...?
If they are in your purchase history on your iTunes account, you can use the Report a Problem link.

  • How do I get my purchased music back after turning off iTunes Match without having to go back through iTunes and individually download each album?

I absolutely hate iTunes Match. It is difficult to work with when it comes to music not purchased through iTunes. So I want to turn it off. How do I do and still have my purchased music through iTunes without having to go through each album/song that I've ever purchased and redownload? That would take FOREVER.

If iTunes Match is turned off, go to preferences > store>Tick box show iCloud purchases. Once done all purchased music will appear. Go to song list view, select all tracks, ctrl+click and select download from pop up.
Alternatively, go into iTunes Store > Quicklinks purchased and select not on this computer. Select download all.

  • Purchased music gone...not even in "purchased"

I plugged my iPhone in to transfer some music. Once the music synched, that music was there, but all of my playlists emptied and my purchased music disappeared (I did not have it set to "remove songs/videos and synch to iTunes." - I've heard of the latest iTunes deleting your purchased music, so I went to the "purchased" section in the iTunes store to re-download it...and it's not their either. Where is it?? How can I get it back??

  • Why has my purchased music gone missing

Hi i recently synced my iphone 4 and realised that most of my music has gone missing. After usiing itunes the same day I was trying to play tracks in my library and got a message saying orignal file could not be found. As I looked through the list of tracks I could not play I realised it was all the music I had purchased from itunes that was unable to be played. I do use a shared computer so I cannot say if any changes were made but have been sharing the computer for 2 years now and nothing like this has happened before.

Delete the songs and redownload them:
