Purchased music,Itunes two librarys.Oops.deleted library.Can't find files?

Nano 2nd Gen. Created library by downloading from CD. Itunes 7.0, downloaded some initial songs. The purchased songs were not synced onto Ipod. Downloaded addtional songs Itunes created seperate library and instructed to erase the initial library. Now I can't seem to find the music I initially purchsed, neither on library or system files. Itune acct shows what has been purchased. Searched system for files but can't locate.

What's the question? Did you delete the Library, or the actual music files?

Hi Rick,
by "repair" I mean I went to the control panel, option - programs and features, and in the list of all my installed programs I selected "Apple Software Update". On top of the screen you find the options Uinstall, Change and Repair. I clicked the repair button and that did the trick. After the repair I could uninstall the program. I also uninstalled iTunes, Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Device Support en Bonjour, thus all Apple programs. Then I installed iTunes 10.5 again and everything went fine.

I scraped my old computer disc and lost all my data including my itunes library backup. I recreated a new itune library on my new computer but it only contains my purchased music,apps,books and movies. I Can I reverse a sync Ipod to Itunes?

After having thought about this, I realized, sometime later, that I gave you bad information. You can NOT sync to multiple iTunes libraries with one iPad. I was thinking about using one iPad with mulitple computers and you have to set you device to manage the music manually to do that - you don't sync.

I use two computers and sometimes I purchase music from the iTunes Store using one or the other. But, the music I purchased on one computer doesn't show up on the other computer and visa a versa. Is there a method of showing all the music I've purchased on both computers no matter what computer it was originally purchased on?

Downloaded music will only appear on the computer used for the download. To get these files on your other computer you have to physically install the files on the computer (unless you have a shared network storage drive). To move the songs between computers, I would use an USB flash drive, copy the file to this drive and then copy it into iTunes on the other computer (Edit > Add File). Make sure you physically copy the file to the other computer and not just the path to the song on the flash drive. You can then authorize the computer to play these songs. (iTunes allows you to authorize up to five computers to play your purchased music.)
If you'd prefer to import an unprotected file, you can burn the purchased music to a CD and then just rip it into iTunes on your other computer.

If they were put there via iTunes sync process, then simply untick the Music box before syncing again.

If you are getting a message that the old email account is being used then that might mean that you have created a new account and not replaced the email address on the old account - try seeing if you can get the password reset for the old account/email : http://iforgot.apple.com

I get itunes can't find file when I tried to play a TV show I had purchased that was supposed to be in the cloud. There are several of these, including an entire season. In the store it shows that I purchased these shows when I checked them.

Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

Have two albums in iTunes that say can't find file location but they are on iPod nano and will play on nano but not in iTunes

I'm trying to play two albums using iTunes but they say the files can't be located and won't play. The albums are on my iPod Nano 3rd Gen. and will play there. Syncing my iPod and computer doesn't resolve the problem. How do I get the albums from the nano to the computer?

If the media was purchased from iTunes, I would recommend deleting the missing media and either transfer purchased from your iPod or download them again via the third article below.

7.6 can only find files in the itunes folder - My Music files are all lost

Since upgrading to itunes 7.6 all my old files that were located in My Music are no longer found by itunes. However all files in My Music/itunes are found.
I have not changed the file names, what has happened?
As I have loads of files in the old My Music folder it is a problem to redirect every file individually.
I do have a backup of the computer but what do I restore as all the music files are where they have always been?

Under iTunes Media though I do not have folders for Books,iPod Games, Mobile Applications, Movies, TV Shows so I only have Auto Add to iTunes, Music, Downloads and Podcasts - My question here is is this OK.
Next - Library files that you mention are there but do not end .itdb
Next - in the main iTunes folder followingon from Artwork and Media folders there is some other iTunes database stuff like Library Extras, Library Genius, Library and Music Library(xml) all dated 10/02/12 plus MimiPlayer .dll dated 21/02/14 and Set Up Short Cut dated22/03/14
AND there is also a Programme Files folder with a sub folder holding file folders called CD Configuration,iTunes Resources, iTunes Help Resources, iTunes Mini Player Resources and Mozilla Plugins all dated 24/03/14 ( when I downloaded the new iTunes) and then a lot of application extension stuff from 2011
To recap I unistalled the old 32 bit iTunes and installed the new 11.1.5 (64 bit) version over the weekend SO is any of the old stuff listed above required.
Outcome right now is that as previously I can only call up the Downloaded music not Podcats or CD copies.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try deleting the problematic file (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iTunes store.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option at the bottom of the screen of the iTunes app (or video app) on your iOS device.
If the problem re-occurs, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History using your computer.
