Purchased Music lost in iTunes

Hi,
I imported my backed up music from an external HD as am upgrading to a new iMac. All the music has transferred successfully but the purchased seems to have dissapeared into iTunes and doesn't appear in a folder. When I search for it in iTunes it is there and plays no problem but I can't find it to organise it.
Where will it be? In the USERS>Music>iTunesMusic folder they appear in folders on their own. These don't come up on in the iTunes list.

There are various ways to move music, and some work more smoothly than others.
If the song plays in your iTunes library but you can't find it in a folder, right-click the library entry and choose "Show in Finder." This takes you straight to the folder location.
If you can find the file in a folder, but it is not in the library, add it to the library by dragging it into the open iTunes Music pane.
If you can't find it anywhere, it may not have successfully made the move. Go get it from the EHD or wherever it is.
If the only place it exists is on your iPod, you can move it back to iTunes via the command File > Transfer purchases from iPod.

Check the music tab on the iPhones iTunes page, and make sure "sync all music" is checked. If you chose only to sync certain music, new music will not automatically show up.

You can transfer all the iTunes purchased music from the iPod Touch to your new computer.
From iTunes: How to move your music to a new computer:
If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod has your purchased content from the iTunes Store, you can transfer the content to a computer that is authorized for your Apple ID.
Note: This option only works for content you purchased from the iTunes Store (as opposed to content from other sources, such as CDs you may have imported). For content you did not purchase from the iTunes Store, synchronization occurs in one direction only. This means your content can be copied from a computer to your iOS device, but cannot be copied from your device to a computer.
    Open iTunes.
From the Store menu, choose Authorize Computer.
In the dialog that appears, the Apple ID button is selected by default. If you have an AOL account, select AOL.
Enter your Apple ID or AOL account and password. Then, click the Authorize button.
Connect your device your computer. If it is synced with another iTunes library, the following may appear:
If this alert appears, click Transfer Purchases.
If you were not offered the option to transfer purchases:
After connecting your device to the computer, its icon appears in iTunes. Click the icon.
From the File menu, choose "Transfer Purchases from 'Your device name.'"

What does download all mean on my purchased music from the iTunes Store app?

Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past music purchases, delete the broken tracks only from your iTunes library, go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Music and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your tracks there.
If the problem persists, or that facility is not yet available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the report a problem links in your account history, or via Contact Support.
BTW, are these all recent purchases (last 8 weeks or so) or does it affect older tracks also?

  • HT201272 why can't I re-download already purchased music from the itunes store?

why can't I re-download already purchased music from the itunes store?

What country are you in ? Re-downloading music isn't currently possible in all countries (the record companies need to agree to it for each country). If you are in a country where music can be re-downloaded, then if the tracks are still in the store then they should show under the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes.

    Hi Mission73,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
The article below explains how to change your rescue email address and/or reset your Apple ID security questions.
You can attempt to answer your security questions in order to change your rescue email.
If you are unable to remember the answers to your security questions and the rescue email address has changed -- contact Apple ID Security for asissistance.
Rescue email address and how to reset Apple ID security questions
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312
When creating a new Apple ID for use with the iTunes Store or Mac App Store, you will be asked to provide an optional rescue email address. If you have an existing Apple ID that you use with the iTunes Store or Mac App Store, you may be asked to provide some additional security information, including a rescue email address. When you provide a rescue email address, all future security emails, such as password resets from iForgot, will be sent to the address provided. The rescue email address you provide cannot be the same as your primary email address for your Apple ID. In most cases, your primary email address is the same as your Apple ID username.

  • If I download my purchased music off of Itunes to an authorized computer will Apple charge me?

Just want to download my purchased music off of ITunes onto an authorized computer. When I attempted to do so, ITunes asked me for credit card information but doesnt say anything about charging me for downloading.
Question: does anyone know if ITunes Charges you to download previously purchased music off of its website? Thank you.

If you buy it again it will charge you, yes.
Copy everything from your old computer or your backup copy of your old computer.
Or transfer itunes purchases from an ipod:  File>Transfer Purcahses
In the U.S you can use the newly released beta version of icloud.  Open  itunes, go to the itunes store.  Look under Quick Links, click Purchased

We are fellow users here on these user-to-user forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple.
Do you have a credit card, or a different debit card that you could try (some are apparently still accepted in India) ?

  • HT1904 Why can't I purchase music with my iTunes gift card on my iPhone4S

  • Purchased music from multiple itunes accounts on the same computer

I mistakenly opened up two itune accounts and have purchased music using both accounts. The problem is that itunes won't let me download my purchased music from one of the accounts to my ipod. It will download all of the music from account "a" but none from account "b". Help please.

    Hey chawk32,
Just play the purchased content from account B in iTunes. That should make a authorization dialog box pop up. After authorizing the computer iTunes can transfer that data to the iPod.
You can also click store inside iTunes then authorize computer.

  • Purchased music plays in iTunes but not Apple applications

My issue is not as dire as most here but still....
Recently, my purchased music became unavailable to
all Apple applications (iPhoto, iMovie, Final Cut Pro, Quicktime, etc) except
iTunes. If I try to play one, "This computer is not authorized to play this
song" message appears. Never did before. After following the
"open iTunes to reauthorize this computer" instruction it reports
authorization was successful. However, the songs are still unavailable
to Apple apps. and the "not authorized" message keeps popping up.
And they all play fine in iTunes. Any help would be greatly
    appreciated.

Usually unchecking the song(s) in iTUnes, updating the ipod, then checking the songs and updating the ipod again will fix the problem.
If not restoring it with the latest ipod updater (06-28-2006) should fix it. Restoring wipes the ipod clean and then you use iTUnes to load it back up with your music
