Purchased music problem

okay so here is my problem. for some reason my itunes just would not open up i kept getting the message, "itunes has encountered an error blah blah blah". i spent weeks trying to get my itunes working again. finally after several installs and uninstalls i just had to get rid of everything in my computer that had anything to do with quicktime, itunes, and ipod and wallah my itunes is back. the only problem is my whole library is gone and the only trail of my library is still on my ipod itself. i havent updated my ipod for fear of losing all of my purchased music (which i stupidly didn't back up of course). does anyone have any idea of how to get my purchased music off my ipod and into my new library. help is greatly appreciated, thanx

thanx alot katrina that solved my problem...partially but now that i have my whole ipod including songs i purchased into my library for some reason those songs that i purchased will not go onto my ipod when i hit uppdate my ipod. any suggestions

  • Downloading purchased music problem

Easier to show problem with pictures. I wiped computer and iphone when i noticed that itunes in the cloud was working for music and didnt back up music as i could see i was able to download it all again ( i know what i did was stupid ). Now i have not hidden any purchased music (i checked 3 times). All songs in picture shows 559 yet when i click the tab it shows  Total 539 items at bottom so need help to find out why 20 songs missing, also in bottom picture  it shows elton  john and 3 next to it and only displays 2 songs, the  third song i downloaded twice now and deleted it just to see if it would show up and it didnt.

Contact the iTunes Music Store customer support department through the form at the bottom of this web page and explain the problem to them.
    Good luck.

  • Playing purchased music problem

i have been using denon program using itunes as my music library for some time now with no problems.
well since i have downloaded the latest version of itunes all my purchased songs will not play on the denon program, they will play in itunes only.
when i try and use in denon program it says the computer is not authorised to play.so i connect to itunes and request authourisation and it says it has been sucessful but when i select track through the denon program it says "no authorisation" please can anyone help me ????

No Sorry. And don't bother update to 5.0. It only does you louse all your extra information and rating etc.
The authorization problem is however not about versions. Yesterday I got a new pc (win xp) and tried to play the songs there after copying over, managed to authorize it, but again it fails. There must be a problem at the authorization server I think.
I suspect it has something to do with me not having a complete email-address as AppleID when I first bought the files, and then changing it later.
Anybody recognize the changing of AppleID issue?
    Regards,
    Asle

  • Purchasing Music Problem

I'm attempting to purchase some music from the Music Store but everytime I click on the "Buy Album" button I am presented with the upgrade to iTunes 7.2 screen. My computer will not support this upgrade so I don't want it.
I just want to buy the music but I can't get past this screen!!

Go to your iTunes preferences, click on General, and uncheck "Check for updates automatically." Hopefully this will be the ticket.

  • The Purchased Music Problem

    Alright
I have an iBook Clamshell. It isn't the fastest, but it works for me. I downloaded The first episode of Lost on my Digital Audio. I copied it onto my Clamshell, and it says that 5 people already have my copy of Lost! Whatever, I can deal with it. I go to the music store, and got the free version of Andy Milonakis, and that does'nt work for the same reason!

You may indeed get quicker and more accurate help if you ask in the iTunes for Mac forum.
But how many computers does your iTMS account show as being authorized? If you only have one or two systems but your account info is showing five, use the Deauthorize option in the iTMS account info to clear out all the authorizations. You can then re-authorize only those computers that you actually have and are using.
    Hope this helps.

  • Purchased music not playing in ipod?!

I'm having a couple of problems with iTunes in general, but for now I will try to deal with the purchased music problem I'm having.
I've bought roughly 33 songs from the music store and after a computer "revamping", none of them are showing up in iTunes [along with all of my other songs, but that's another problem addressed here http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=271018 ]. I bought another song since the "re-vamping" and it's the only song listed in my "purchased" folder under the "music store". I checked my "purchase history" and all of the roughly 33 songs are listed there! Now, I wouldn't normally worry about that- I moved the songs back into iTunes [into my library] and I can hear them perfectly BUT when I try to play them on my ipod they won't play. Now THAT is bothering me
I've looked around and after going through other threads and ipod support, I have no idea what to do. ANY help or insight would be helpful!!

You don't say whether or not your purchases are authorized. Purchases must be authorized in iTunes by playing one of them for a few seconds on the computer, before they will work on the iPod.

Try assigning Queen as the Album Artist on the compilations in iTunes on your computer.

  • Another Ipod Problem - Purchased Music wont play

I just recently recieved my fifth repaired Ipod in a year and a halves time, and now I have another problem. I loaded all of my iTunes songs to my iPod, but all of my purchased music will not play, it just skips over them to the next song. What is going on?
Thank you for your help in advance.

Could you share this again? I have looked for answers to this issue in multiple threads and have yet to find anything that works. All the latest stuff, resync, etc. and the purchased music still won't play after some interval of time. It plays fine for a while then it just skips through the titles.
Is it a time thing or something you can set?
    Thx for any insight.

i can't sync my new purchased music into my ipod, it states there is a problem with the drive.

    Hey Texasdee07,
I found the following information that should resolve the issue:
To repair an iPod disk—Restore the iPod or iPod shuffle using the latest version of iTunes.
Warning: Be sure to back up your data before restoring an iPod. The restore process cannot be undone. All of your songs and files will be deleted.
via: 'Disk cannot be read from or written to' when syncing iPod or 'Firmware update failure' error when updating or restoring iPod

  • Problems dowloading purchased music

I recently bought a new computer. It has Windows Vista and I downloaded Itunes 7.0.2.16. I can download podcasts, but I just purchased two full albums and I am getting a stopped (err = -3259) message and nothing will download. What happens if it never is able to download? They say (somewhere on this website) that they are working on an Itunes upgrade that might fix the problem, but what happens to my purchased music if I can't download it? Irritated!!

I  recently put money on my itunes account but the problem is when i went to purchase music the credit card information needed to be deleted and i forgot the answers to my security questions what do i do? I was told by a friend of mine that all i had to do was call apple support and i would be able to re start the secruity answers.

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, and filling out and submitting this form.

I am having problems downloading newly purchased music, message response is "An unknow error occurred (8003)".  Does anyone know how to correct this error and enable downloading of music?

Doublechecking. Have you tried the "Error -50," "-5000," "8003," "8008," or "-42023" section in the Specific Conditions and Alert Messages: (Mac OS X / Windows) section of the following document?

  • Problem Authorizing Purchased Music

I recently upgraded Tiger to Leopard, and since then have been asked to authorize some purchased music and am running into some problems.
100 purchased and previously authorized songs are not playable. When I try to play the song on my computer, a message comes up saying I need authorize the song. The user ID that appears is "maryorourke," my user ID minus the rest of the email address. I cannot authorize these songs without a valid user ID. I have no idea how these songs came under the invalid ID or how to reset these songs. All other songs are under a valid user ID.
How do I fix this problem?
    Thanks!

    hiya!
these resources should be helpful with that:
    Using iPod with multiple computers
    Managing songs manually on iPod
Copying music between authorized computers with iTunes for Windows

  • HT201272 I get this message when I try to download purchased music, never seen it before, never had a problem before. you do not have enough access privelages for this operation

I get this message when I try to download purchased music, never seen it before, never had a problem before.
"you do not have enough access privelages for this operation"
This computer is authorized, auoto download is enabled and I can download on my ipad without a problem.
Any ideas what might be going on?

    Hi jimbowby,
If you are getting this error message just when attempting to download previously purchased music (new purchases work fine), and it's only occuring on the computer (redownloads on the iPad work fine), it may be a permissions issue. It may be worth taking a look at the Resolution section of the following article, which covers other issues that can throw that same error message: Trouble adding music to iTunes library or importing audio CD Hope that helps.
    Cheers,

It is illegal, against the law, to do this.
You ONLY buy the right to your own personal use of the music.
You do not have any right to distribute it to others.
