Purchased music will no longer play on iPod only

Has anyone else had this problem with iTunes 6? None of my purchased music wil play on my iPod anymore, I have updated to the latest versions of all the software, iTunes, iPod and QuickTime. I bought music today. As soon as I copied it to my iPod, not only will the new music not play, but nothing I have purchased from iTunes will play anymore. The device simply skips to the next song on the list not from iTunes. No messages or explanation. It simply ignores the files and moves on to the next. All music plays on my computer. This seems to be an iPod problem, and there are no updates to add for it. It only happened after I upgraded to and purchased music from iTunes 6, Any ideas? All suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you for responding. I am using iPod software 2.3 on what I believe is a second generation 15GB iPod, the one with the four buttons below thw screen; the last one before the click wheel version. I think it's the only one they made in 15GB size. Anyway, 2.3 is the most updated software that this model can take. I've noticed from the discussions that many people are having similar problems that vary a bit. I hope Apple is noticing these glitches.

Lots of my music will no longer play after latest update

I have a lot of music that will no longer play in my iTunes after the last update. it doesnt happen with all my music, but a lot of it, and as far as i can tell, movies and tv shows are still good. when i click on the song, it just skips forward over a lot of songs that it cant play until it gets to the next one that it can play. to make things stranger, i synced my iPad to my iTunes, and the ones that cant play in my iTunes will play on my iPad. when i try to open the song using QuickTime player, i get the following error: error -2002 a bad public movie atom was found in the movie
what is a bad movie atom and why am i getting the error when trying to play an audio file, and why wont they play in my iTunes but will on my iPad.
System: Win7 Ultimate 64bit AMD A10 8GB RAM
iTunes : 11.4.0.18
QuickTime : 7.7.5

The contacts is saved on Google or Backup Assistance (Whichever you are using) and you can use ES File Explorer like I posted at http://community.vzw.com/t5/Android-Apps/Simple-way-to-Backup-apps-for-Hard-Reset/td-p/658707 , so you really wont loose anything but apps data...
BUT, I am not saying that you do this if that is your only issue... I was just pointing out that this is a good ideal to do with any Major Updates..
If the contacts isnt linked again you should get the option to link them again once the OS boots, normally it checks and then prompt to link again..

Videos (TV shows and music) Will No Longer Play

My Ipod Video was working great--playing TV shows and videos. Suddenly it no longer plays the TV Shows or music videos. Please help me. Why did it just quit playing them? Can someone tell me what to do to get them going again? When I plug my Ipod into the computer, I can play the videos from the Ipod on the computer in the small viewer on the left of the Itunes screen. Thanks

i recently had my mac serviced by apple and when i got it back some of my music that i purchased from the itunes music store no longer works on my computer. It says that 5 or more poeple have the song and I KNOW only 3 people tops have these songs. So what I want to know is why i cant access the songs I paid for

Before servicing you should have de-authorized your computer.
You probably didn't know about it.
The best thing is to de-authorize all computers (alowed once a year) and authorize your computers again.

Purchased music and videos not playing on ipod!!!!

I had an ipod and bought a video ipod recently. I forgot to put in the disc that came with the new ipod, and now all the songs and videos I bought from Itunes Music store wont play in my ipod. By wont play I mean I try to play it and it goes to a black screen, sometimes for 30 seconds. I have tried restoring my ipod but it did not work. Please help

Did you update the firmware on the iPod? Supposibly if fixes a few bugs.

If you didn't then try that. Believe me your problem is not with not using that CD as I never even popped the disk in my CD drive untill after I had updated my iPod as the software was outdated before it arrived at my house.

Music Will No Longer Play Double Speed

After changing to iOS 5 I cannot find a way to play things double speed on my iPad 2. Am I missing something or has this feature been taken away?

Music purchased on itunes no longer plays

I recently bought several CDs worth of music for my iPod mini on iTunes and had absolutely no problems at all until the other day, when I discovered that the purchased songs will no longer play. The songs are still displayed as being available for listening. Yet, once selected, the iPod will run through the songs one by one, playing nothing at all. I can, however, listen to these purchased songs through iTunes. What exactly is going on here, and how can I fix it?

Try syncing all the music off your phone (by unchecking Sync Music on the Music tab of your iTunes sync settings and syncing), then back on.

Not All Purchased Music Will Copy To iPod

Some of my purchased music will not copy to my iPod, giving my the "...your computer is not authorized..." message. The "uncopyable" will play on my computer. I've de-authorized and re-authorized this computer. I've reloaded the iTunes software. Any help out there?

Yeah, that happens a lot, but there can be all sorts of fixes for it.
What version iTunes? (itunes > help > about, let it scroll up)

Music I have purchased from Itunes will no longer play on my laptop. When I click on a song to play it, it says the file cannot be found. Does anybody know what to do?

Purchased music from I-tunes will no longer play when I hit play. The message "music file cannot be located" pops up and then takes me to some other file system. Does anybody know what to do? I have already tried to make sure that my Itunes player is default and that is not the problem.

You get this message because iTunes can’t find the file. This can happen for a number of reasons:
The song file or a folder in its path was renamed
The song file or the folder it is in has been moved
The song file has been deleted
The device containing the song files e.g. external drive is not accessible or the drive letter has changed.

I think a few have.
Try the standard fixes:
- Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

I also have a 4G ipod touch and a similar problem. Since I updated to the ios5 software any new songs I add to my iTunes don't sync to my ipod main playlist. They show up in the 'recently added' playlist, but not in the main 'songs' section. I fixed the problem once by restoring to factory settings and rather than reinstalling from a backup, I created a new ipod name and synced everything onto my ipod as if it was new.
This worked until the next new song I added and then the same problem started all over again. If you do reinstall everything as new, you may want to take a screen shot of where all your apps are and make sure all your photos etc are saved, as everything will be from scratch. Hope this helps!

Music I have on iTunes on comp wont sync to iphone plus music I bought through phone will no longer play on phone after I synced to my comp.

Just bought music on iTunes from phone and then synced to iTunes on my computer and now the music I bought through the phone will not play but still remains in my music library. Also music that I had in my library from ripped CDs and other resources will no longer play on phone but will on the computer. How can I fix this problem?

In my Sync vehicle, I had to "forget" the SYnc connection in the iPhone Bluetooth settings, then go into the car menu and delete the bluetooth device from the vehicle's system. Once I re-paired from scratch, it has been working fine. Give that a try. If not, try removing the connection from both sides again, then Reset Network Settings from the General Settings before re-pairing.
