Purchased ringtone  iphone 4 that is not in my itunes library when i click transfer purchases from it appears in the tones library but in a paler shade of print with a dotted circle to the left of it when i take any action it disappears

have purchased ringtone on iphone 4 not in my itunes library when i click devices, transfer purchases from, it appears in tones in my library but in a paler shade of print with a dotted circle to the left of it, if i try to click on it or take any other action it disappears and leave a blank space i have tried this several time i want to transfer library to my new iphone 5 but i will loose the ringtone

I had the exact same issue!! Seriously p*ssed me off when I checked out my ITunes purchased items (via my computer) and noticed that most of the additional tracks listed on my IPhone playlist was listed there too. However, I never authorized any purchases!!  (I have actually written Apple Support asking for a full refund of all tracks listed on my purchased list)
Be careful when you swipe your finger to the left/right on those "additional" tracks on your IPhone playlist... I'm pretty sure that the cloud symbol is an option to download or automatically buy those tracks.
Solution for the problem:
1 - go to your IPhone settings
2 - choose "iTunes & App Store"
3 - go to "Show All" & "Music"
4 - turn off "Music" by moving the bar to the left (it should be a white color once you turn it off)
Should solve your problem :~)

    Hi Aitkesh,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
This article has some information on transferring music from an iPhone to iTunes:
iTunes: Transferring media from your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or iPod
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1209
Here's the information related to transferring music:
Music purchased from the iTunes Store
    Transfer your content via iTunes.
Download your content through iTunes in the Cloud1.
Download your content through iTunes Match2.
Music imported from a CD or another source
iTunes cannot transfer this media back to a computer. Make sure to back up your iTunes Library, or you can use iTunes Match2.
    Cheers,

  • I have music on my iPhone that is not on my iTunes account - how do I transfer?

After having to re-boot my PC, I unfortunately lost some of the music on my iTunes account. The songs are still able to be played on my iPhone but in the iTunes account, to the left of the tick box there is an exclamation mark, and when I click on the song to play it, a box comes up telling me that "the song can not be used because the original file could not be found." Is there any way of me being able to get the songs from my iPhone back onto my iTunes account? Please help! Thanks x

You should not have lost songs with just a re-boot.  Search your hardrive for the songs... http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1408

  • I have music on my iPhone that is not on my iTunes (mac)

I have music on my iPhone that is not on my iTunes (mac). I have unchecked all music and synced so iTunes doesn't see the music but when I go to my phone music is still there. The phone is running out of memory when I try to update apps due to this.
There appears to be about 3GB of music on my iPhone I cant remove

Purchased content from iTunes? If so, your phone connected, iTunes running: File>Transfer Purchases. Or, you can delete the music directly on your phone: swipe left-to-right across the song/album, hit "Delete".

You mean music that was not purchased from the iTunes Store?
If so, that means the music was transferred from your iTunes library on computer via the iTunes sync process - unless you are an iTunes Match subscriber.
Music transferred from your computer can be removed the same way - via the iTunes sync process or you should be able to delete individual songs direct from the iPhone.

Sometimes the updater gets in a funny state - Go to http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/ and download the full installer. Close Firefox and run the installer

  • HT204411 I just need to purchase a song that is not available in itunes country, its only available in the USA. Is there anything I can do as all my efforts so far have not been successful. Thanks

I am trying to purchase a song that's not available in the itunes South Africa. The song I am trying to buy is only on itunes USA. Is there anything that I can do because usually all I need to do is switch shops but it doesn't seem to be working on this particular song. Thanks

You need to be in a country to use its store, so unless you are in the US with a US billing address on your account then you can't buy from the US store - you can only use the South African store. You can try requesting that the song be added to the South African store, but unless the rights-holder agrees to it then Appl won't be able to sell it there : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html

  • I can no longer sync new music i've downloaded into my iTunes library onto my phone. When i click the playlist "recently added" under my phone on my computer it just shows all the songs greyed out with a dotted circle on the left hand side. Any clue why?

For Example: like this makes no sense. is it because it wasnt purchased directly from itunes? If so thats ridiculous. I've had an iphone for over a year, and a macbook for over 2 years. my phone is completley updated to 7.0.3 and my computer is completley updated with the new itunes 11.1.12 which i thought was supposed to help this problem. I've never had this problem, and its extremely frustrating.

I downloaded one of the file explorer programs (iFunbox in my case) for my PC and deleted everything out of the "Purchases" folder on the phone's "Raw File System". After a couple of syncs with iTunes everything was back to normal. It appears that something was screwed up on the iPhone side that iTunes couldn't sort out. I don't think anything could sync from iTunes to the phone, not just the greyed out items.
This is why resetting and restoring the iPhone also works for a lot of people. It's overkill though, deletes your app data, and just wastes your time setting everything back up after the restore. Better to use the surgical approach of a file system explorer program on your PC to fix what appears to be a mundane data corruption issue.

  • Why are they songs on my iphone that are not on my itunes

Hi. Since ios7, my iphone 5 now has songs that i do not either own or have on my itunes on my Mac. I have never even bought some of thes songs. I cant even delete them off my device. These songs have 3 red dots next to them if that helps. This is driving me crazy so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hopefully you are signed in to the same Apple ID on iTunes on your Mac as you are on your iPhone.  If not, get to this state.
On your Mac, go to the iTunes Store.  Click the "Purchased" link on the right side.  You should find and be able to download the song there.
For the future, go to iTunes > Preferences > Store from iTunes' menu and check the Automatic Downloads - Music box.

  • How do I delete songs from iPhone that are not in my iTunes library. "Swiping" to delete it does not work as the delete option does not appear.

Just tried to remove all songs by changing synch entire music library to selected playlists, didn't select anything and says 0 songs at top, however the 5 **** songs that I'm trying to remove are still left on my phone!! This is so stupid but bugging me so much!!

    Hi, Jixx0615.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
When you try to delete from a device running iOS 7, make sure to hold your finger on the song for a few seconds before swiping to the left. This should expose the red Delete button.
    Try Again,

  • Is App data transfered to my new Mac when I click "Transfer Purchases"?

I've been using my iPhone on a PC, it died, and I bought a Mac Pro. I am trying to sync my phone to the new Mac. I transferred all my purchases off the phone, synced contacts, notes, and photos. Now I want to enable syncing of Apps and Music.
I know the Music will be wiped, no problem. And I know the Apps will be wiped and replaced with the apps transfered to the Mac. But what about the App data?
I've searched the forum but I can't find an answer as to whether or not the App data is transferred off the iPhone when I went through the "Transfer Purchases" stuff. And I REALLY don't want to lose the app data!
For example I use an app to track my smoking habits so I can cut down on smoking and eventually quit (Down from a pack a day to half a pack in just a month!).
    Any help will be appreciated.

I'll answer my own question for anyone else that needs the answer.
    The answer is YES.
I backed up my iPhone first (Right click on iPhone under devices and click backup) and then checked the Sync applications box on the applications tab and synced. It worked.
I want to thank myself tremendously for all my help! I really couldn't have done it without me.

  • How do I delete music files 0n my iphone that are not removed by itunes?

I have been unable to clear some of my music files off of my iphone since loading IOS 5. When I use my synce to remove all music some files remain. New files I have added since installing IOS5 I can add and delet fine.  The ones that were installed by restore when IOS5 was loaded will not delete leving me with duplicates when I try to reinstall new purchase.

    Robert...
You can delete songs directly from the iPhone.
Tap the Music tab in the Dock.
Now swipe to the left or right once. You should see a red delete button.

  • My iphone 5 will not charge? i noticed it was taking a few attempts to charge since i installed ios7,but recently it stopped working all together i though it may be the charging port so i have had that replaced but that still hasn't worked

my iphone 5 wont charge? I started to have difficulties charging it when I downloaded ios7 and over time it started to become more and more of a problem, then yesterday I thought it might have been the charging port so I got that replaced but it is still not charging. even with both of my chargers and a friends charger it didn't charge, does anyone have any idea what might be the problem? if its ios7 or the hardware? and what should I do i am still within warranty but I'm not sure if that still counts since it has had a part replaced, or would the apple store be able to help me out?

Replacing the charging port (which is NOT user serviceable) has voided your warranty with Apple, and forfeited your abiltity to receive any further support on that phone, including from this forum.
You'll need to look elsewhere for assistance.
    Best,

  • New songs off of Iphone 5 will not sync onto itunes.

Usually, when I buy new music off my phone and then sync it to my itunes, the songs download onto itunes. But lately it has been coming up with a message saying, "This computer is already associated with and Apple ID." I do share this itunes with my whole family, but this has never happened before. I have been trying to find a way for weeks.

When you follow those instructions, when you click transfer purchases- does it tell you that computer in not autorized yet?
