Purchased ringtones are no longer on iPhone

Bought ringtones on iTunes, when syncing my phone they no longer appear?

The ringtones have already been transferred to my computer a long time ago. The ringtones are on my computer, ITUNES shows that they are available. I individually clicked every ringtone I wanted to be synced and yet they still are not showing up on my phone.

Use Migration Assistant to put all your personal data from the backup of your other computer onto the new computer, then sync.

  • HT1688 My purchased ringtones are not on my new Iphone after syncing. How do I get them back?

My purchased ringtones are not on my new IPhone after syncing How do I get them back? ITunes store said I had already purchased - would I like to purchase again?

Thanks for that babowa. If I add my Yahoo account it just goes straight to MacMail and says I already have an account. There seems to be no basic problem with mails going between Macmail and Yahoo. It is just the folders that have disappeared, while MacMail was out of action. I don't think those particular folders were ever on the Yahoo mail that I access through BT, they were just on the MacMail under "Yahoo" as opposed to "On my Mac". I am worried in case I lose what I already have if I press "Restore" from my back up. As you can see, I am not exactly good at this!

  • Purchased ringtones are possessed!!!

My purchased ringtones are unresponsive when they go off - meaning I can't make them stop.
If I touch the text message they still do not stop alerting.
I can turn "off" the sound and they keep alerting.
I can turn the "volume button" all the way down and the alert will keep playing.
Nothing I do when the text alerts (which can sometimes be "long" and loud ringtones that I have purchased from the iTunes store) makes them turn off.
Not always, either. SOMETIMES they turn off. Sometimes if they come in and I touch the text message or preview the alert will stop. Other times...no way. Nothing turns them off.
    I have the 6+ 128gb
I had the same trouble with my 5
Any idea what causes this? An uncommon bug that apple just hasn't fixed yet?

    I found a solution here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/16442810#16442810
I hope it helps you too

  • Purchased ringtones are not on my new iphone

I purchased three ringtones and recently had to get a replacement iPhone 5. My purchased songs were transferred however, my ringtones were not. How do I get them back? Please help! I really don't want to pay $1.29 all over again.

Ringtones are a Once only Download... If you did not back them up to iTunes on your computer you will need to re-purchase them.

  • HT201272 I recently had to reset my iPhone and all my purchased ringtones are gone. It is in my purchase history on iTunes, but I don't know how to reinstall them on my phone.  Help!

Can someone please tell me how to reinstall purchased ringtones on my iPhone?

You should have transferred them to your computer and backed up your computer.
Sync them from your computer to your iphone.
    You only get one download.

If they do not show up under ringtones, then they are not ringtones.
There are several ways to create ringtones. Google will find them.

  • My purchased ringtones are not showing up on my iTunes account?! Where are they??

The screen on my laptop has an internal crack so im using my mom's laptop for now. When I connected my iPhone to the computer, I couldn't do anything without syncing my phone which meant everything got erased! I wasn't too upset because I backed up everything on iCloud. Well for some reason, it didn't back up anything and I lost all my media. No biggie. I added most of the songs and apps back. I tried to add the ringtones I've purchased from iTunes but they're not showing up under the "purchased" section of my iTunes account. I don't know why they're not showing up. It's at least 20 ringtones that I've purchased at $1.29 each! Please help!!

I purchased three ringtones on my iPhone 5. They installed quickly and I was easily able to assign them to contacts. The next time I connected my iPhone to iTunes on my computer the ringtones disappeared from my iPhone. They were still showing in iTunes ringtones section on my computer. They showed up on my iTunes accounts page as being purchased too. I tried everything suggested on the forums to get my purchased ringtones to show on my phone again, with no success.
I started trying different things out of desperation and finally lucked upon a solution. I opened iTunes on my computer. Under the Library section I opened Tones (left side of screen same section as music, movies, etc.). When the tones section opened it showed my three ringtones. I dragged the three ringtones to the desktop. I then deleted the three ringtones from the tones menu. It asked if I wanted to delete them from iTunes completely or just from the tones section. I chose to delete them from the tones section only. Once they were deleted From the tones section i went back to the desktop and dragged the three ringtones from the desktop back to the tones section. The computer automatically synced to my phone and VIOLA! the three ringtones appeared on my iPhone again.
Extra suggestion. I have been using an app from the iTunes Store named Ringtone Maker Pro. It takes songs from my iTunes library and converts them to ringtones. It does a great job. There is a video attached that shows exactly what to do step by step.
    Hope this helps.

  • The songs i purchased once are no longer in my library

I had to reinstall itunes one time, and the songs i had in my account at that point are no longer there. is there anyway to get them back?

Perhaps you may still have the music files on your PC -- but not seen in iTunes or the PC.
Do a thorough search of your PC PC using the tips below:
First - Make sure that you enable your Windows Explorer to view 'Hidden' files:
    - Open Windows Explorer
    - Select 'My Computer'
    - On the main Windows Explorer menu: Tools=>Folder Options=>'View' tab
    - In 'Advanced Setting' --> Files and Folders --> Hidden files and folders:
-- Select 'Show hidden files and folders’
    - Click 'Apply to All Folders'
    - Click 'OK'
Then check using Windows Explorer in 'My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music\...' for folders containing your music (or wherever you keep your music folders).
Also check in your Recycle Bin to see if you accidentally deleted it. If so, ‘Restore’ it back to it’s original spot.
Then try running a search using Windows Explorer (or similar) for files with the extensions of: m4a, m4p, MP3, OR with the partial names of the songs you are missing.
Do all the above before you decide that your music files have been completely erased from your hard drive.
IF you can locate the music files/folders, we can get iTunes to recognize it. Try one of these:
If you have a backup iTunes database file available....
    1. --- Close iTunes. If you have a backup (or previous version) of the ‘iTunes Library’itl’ database file, then place a copy of that file in the ‘...\My Music\iTunes’ folder (or wherever the current, incomplete file resides).
    1b. --- Open iTunes
If no backup ITL file exists….
2a. --- In iTunes choose: Edit==>Preferences==>Advanced tab. Select 'Change' and browse to the music folder in your PC drive (if it isn’t already). Click OK to save that setting.
    Then....
2b. --- In iTunes choose: File==>’Add Folder to Library’ & browse to the music folder in your PC drive. Click OK.
Without the ITL file, re-‘Adding’ the music files to the Library will lose you the Ratings, Play Counts, Date Added and Last Played attributes, as well as your Playlists. No real way to recover them if you haven’t made prior backups. Something to consider for the future....
IF your music files are truly gone, and you have some or all of your music files on your iPod, these links will give you several methods of recovering whatever songs remain on your iPod; some free, some third-party software, some more comprehensive for restoring playlists, ratings, playcounts, etc. Read them and their associated links before deciding on a strategy that works for you. There are many various third-party software programs that will offer a more robust process, or an easier GUI. Do a Google search for them if the links below leave you wanting…
Don King Resurrected: Deleted files from hard drive (free user steps – music recovery only)
MacMuse: Computer Crashed (free user steps – music recovery only)
Copying music from iPod to computer (a primer on various methods and software)
Copying Songs from Your iPod to a Mac or PC (resource for 3rd party software)
Senuti (Mac OS X v10.3 or higher Recovery Utility)
    iPodRip Software
    PodUtil Software
XPlay (Software For Cross-Platform Functionality & Music Recovery)
XPlay Photo Browser (For recovering Photos)
    Extremely Simple Method:
    1 - Open iTunes
    2 - Edit=>Preferences=>’Advanced/General’ tab
2a --- ‘Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library’: checked
2b --- ‘Keep iTunes Music folder organized’: checked
    2c --- Click OK
3 - Attach your iPod to the PC and hold down the ‘Shift+Ctrl’ keys until the iPod is fully recognized (this will defeat the auto-sync process)
4 - If you get a dialog box to link the Library, decline this option
    5 - File=>Add Folder
6 - Browse to and open ‘My Computer’ and select the iPod
    7 - Click OK
8 - The music files should start to transfer back into iTunes
No Playlists, or Ratings, Last Played, & Play Count attributes will be transferred from the iPod to iTunes using this method
AFTER recovering your song files, strongly consider developing a thorough backup strategy for just this type of situation.
You need at least two full sets of your music, not including what is on the iPod:
-- One full set on the PC within iTunes (on internal HD or ExHD)
-- One full set on an separate external backup medium (CD/DVD/ExHD/other)
-- One (full or partial) set on the iPod
Music files on just the iPod and only one other medium is not considered having any backup.
If you cannot store your complete music files on the computer’s internal HD, then create and maintain at least two external sets (any multiple combinations of ExHDs, DVDs, CDs).
Backup both the music files and the Library database file (iTunes Library.itl). What are the iTunes Library files?
Here is a post on developing a thorough backup strategy:

  • TS1702 Purchased apps are no longer visible in the app store purchased history.  Affects both iPad and iPhone apps.  Doesn't matter if I bought the app today or months ago.  Where are the apps??

Why aren't apps showing in purchased history of the app store?

I have this issue also. Both lists (purchased and not on this ipad) attempt to refresh but seem to timeout and leave the page empty. Can only assume that there's an issue at Apples end.  Quiet annoying though.

  • Can't get purchased ringtone to show up on iphone

I bought a ringtone from the Itunes store. It shows up as a "Purchased Item" in the Purchased Item folder. But after syncing the Iphone several times, it still doesn't show as a ringtone on my phone or as a ringtone in the ringtone folder in my Itunes page.
As an aside, I would never buy another Iphone - reception is lousy, battery life is lousy, and they really aren't any better than the phones everyone else has these days.

I figured this out. There is an extra step now which I assume is from the iTunes update.  There is an option below where you check to sync Audiobooks to 'Include Audiobooks from Playlists'. I checked the playlist f and now my book is all the way on my phone instead of just pretending.
Seems redundant but what do I know...At least I can listen to my book finally.
