Purchased song only plays preview
My computer is authorised, all updates done, cant play music just downloaded. The itunes store still shows a preview icon, I have no option to download again. The album says purchased underneath it in itunes store.
Running windows 7.
Any ideas?
Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting that track from your iTunes library and redownload it via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if it re-downloads in the same state then try the 'report a problem' page to contact iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com

Purchased songs only playing half way through
I purchased 2 albums today and a few songs on each only play half through then skip to the next. I deleted and redownloaded, still having the same problem.
I deleted and redownloaded, still having the same problem.
Try deleting and redownloading just the problematic tracks (rather than the entire album(s)). Any better luck with that? -
Several purchasedsongs only play for a minute then cut off what is wrong?
Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past music purchases, delete the broken tracks from your iTunes library, go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Music and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your tracks there.
If you don't see them straight away it may help to close and restart iTunes.
While downloading select Downloads in the left-hand column and make sure Allow Simultaneous Downloads is unticked.
If the problem persists, or that facility is not yet available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the report a problem links in your account history, or via Contact Support.

TS1424 A few purchased Songs only play for a few seconds or not at all...
I have a few songs that after purchasing on i-tunes, they play for a few seconds and that's it. How do I fix this? Do I have to delete them from my i-tunes folder and then go to songs purchased and download them again?
Yes, assuming you are in a region where you are permitted to redownload your music purchases delete the copies of the corrupt tracks from your iTunes library, go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Music and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your tracks there.
If the problem persists contact the iTunes Store support staff through the report a problem links in your account history, or via Contact Support.

Purchased song only playing 5 seconds
I purchased a song and it will play 5-10 seconds of it and then skip to another song. Does the same on my computer in itunes. My itunes and phone are BOTH up to date. Have tried deleting song and re-downloading it from computer and tried re-starting phone and computer and re-sysncing. Nothing seems to be working. Anybody know how to fix this?
If re-downloading the song hasn't fixed it then there might be something wrong with the file on Apple's server, so try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history to contact support : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that song and use the 'Report a Problem' link and fill in details about the problem (iTunes support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours).
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work (it's been taking some people to this site on a browser instead of showing a form in iTunes) then you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page. -
I'm new to purchasing and downloading music. What I did was use a gift card to purchase an album but most of the songs only play for 30-40 seconds. A couple play for their full time. What went wrong?
Delete and redownload:

can I delete an album from my computer and re-download from my purchases? I bought an album and some of the songs only play partof the way through and some won't play at all. One of them says this computer is not authorized to play this trac.

TS3297 Purchased album & some songs only play 30 secs
I purchased an album and ceratin songs only plays 15-30 seconds through before the track skips onto the next one (even though the song is over 2 minutes long). I've checked the songs "info" and made sure that the stop and start time was not selected, which they are not. Has anyone else had this issue?
This is the first time I have encountered this issue, but it definately got me reconsidering purchasing music from iTunes again if this issue can't be resolved.Try deleting the problematic file (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iTunes store.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option at the bottom of the screen of the iTunes app (or video app) on your iOS device.
If the problem re-occurs, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History using your computer. -
After purchasing a new album I found that 1st song only plays for 15 seconds then skips to next song. The rest of album is fine. How do I correct this?
Try Deleting it from your device, then download again from purchase history.
Hope this helps

Just brought the MacPro and first time using iTune and Yes I authorized the computer. But for a few purchased songs, only 30 seconds of the song plays and for one song off an album, a pop comes up saying I need to authorized the computer, but I do this and it says it is authorized already. I click on the song to play it and this process repeat (saying it is not authorized, then saying it is already authorized)
If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items. -
My purchases are only playing halfway through the songs then they jump to the next song even though the download has been completed "successfully" Does this mean I have to repurchase and download again?
Delete and redownload.
You do not pay for redownloads. Follow the direction:

So I downloaded the Ellie Goulding album and the first few songs only play up to 15 seconds of the song and then skip to the next one. It wont let me drag the scroller to a further point in the song because when I do it doesnt play and goes to the next one. But it isn't on the other songs. just the first 3 or 4. what do I do?I could rebuu the songs that would be a waste. I have a PC so i am having a hard time calling for support because I dont know the serial number.

How do I get a purchased song to play on my ipod shuffle remote from the docking station?
I can think of only one reason a song would be "converted" while it is being loaded on a shuffle.
Select the iPod in the iTunes sidebar, under DEVICES. Over to the right, depending on iPod model, go to the Summary or Settings tab. There should be a setting there that says Convert higher bit rate songs to 128 kbps AAC (the 128 kbps part may be adjustable). If that checkbox is checked, try unchecking it.
NOTE: This setting may allow more songs to fit on the shuffle, but for any converted song, the sound quality will become inferior. So I don't use it. -
I downloaded an entire album off of itunes today. When i went to the library to listen to them, four of the ten songs only played to 45 seconds and then stopped completly. Where as the rest of the songs played fine. Is there anyway to fix it?
