Purchased songs not showing up in iTunes or iPod

I have purchased many songs from iTunes, both on my computer and on my iPhone over the past year or so. However, only some of them are showing up in iTunes and iPod. I have receipts still from iTunes stating that I paid and purchased them and they were even in my library and on my iPod for some time but I went to listen to a couple of songs yesterday and couldn't find them anywhere; both browsing for the song and the artist. I went to my computer to see if they where there to re-sync but they were not in my library either. I'm not sure what happened to them as I haven't done anyting different. I tried restarting my iPhone and, closing and reopening iPod and even rebooting the computer, still nothing. I have red some threads stating that you should change the language to French, did that, still nothing. I'm not sure what the issue is but I have proof that I paid for the songs but they are no longer around. I'm very frustrated! Any help would be great.
I've also been experiencing issues with updating the software. Sometimes I get a timed out error which is odd since I have an internet connection with no issues. It gets all the way to the end and won't complete. I try two or three times and give up and then the next day I may try again and it will work without issues. I have the iPhone 4 and have software update 4.3.2 but have not successfully done the 4.3.3 yet as I keep getting the update error and it's driving me insane!

on the computers itunes click on the iTunes Store.
then click Purchased under quick links on the right.
you can then select Not In My Library and download anything you're missing from there.

Hi,
Go to song view, add iCloud status. To do this, go to menu > view > view options and tick box. This will tell you what has been matched, uploaded, purchased, duplicate, ineligible or waiting. As the scan is stalling with one track remaining, find this track - it is likely to have a icloud status of waiting.
Suggest that you delete from library then select update iTunes Match. Once match completes try readding track - by the way how. Big is the track and whatever is its media type?

Importing songs not showing up in itunes

I have about 200gb of music on an external hd. I import songs into itunes (it shows adding files) but I can not find the songs in itune. Or it will import 1-5 songs out of the 15 or so that were in the folder I was attempting to import.
I tried to import all 200gb of music but only about 1/4 is showing up in itunes.
I have even draged and dropped songs from ext. hd into itunes using my computer window next to itunes. It shows a + sign next to song as it is added, but I can not find it in itunes then.
Any body have this problem?
Any suggestions on how to remedy?

I followed the instructions for transfering a library
from Windows to a Mac and so far it's gone fine. Now
I'm trying to get the songs to show up in iTunes with
no success. I dragged the library from the iPod to
the music folder under documents, on the mac. It's
still not showing up in iTunes. I tried importing
these songs from that location and it brings up the
error message: "The file "Itunes Library.itl" cannot
be imported because it does not appear to be a valid
exported file" Any help would be greatly, greatly
appreciated. If you need any clarity because I know
it's jumbled, just let me know.

I tried the suggestions of other users to import from an external drive with the same result as you. I resolved this by instead selecting add to library and then browsing to the itunes folder on the external drive. It then copied all the contents to iTunes on the Mac.

Imported songs not showing up in iTunes

Just imported a CD. They are not in my iTunes library, but the files are there in the directory on the back end. I even watched iCloud upload them, but the tracks are not showing up in iTunes even when searching for them. Any ideas?!?!?

I have this same problem. Import songs from CD or from a MP3 Folder or if I add a movie, nothing shows up in itunes.
If I do a search of the media folder in iTunes I can see it there. Even My Apple TV can see the uploads and play them.
This all seems to have started after the latest update to Lion.
I have downloaded iTunes again and reinstalled it but it made no difference.
iTunes is importing ok it's just not displaying the newly imported items :-(

Purchased songs not showing up in "purchased music" after computer migratio

I recently had an imac stolen that had a dozen or so songs on it that I had purchased through the iTunes store. Since then, I've obtained a replacement imac (now running 10.5.1 cf. 10.4.11 before), deauthorized the old imac, authorized the new one and restored my files from a Retrospect backup. While my purchased music files still exist, and show up in the library they no longer appear under the "purchased music" selection. Is there a trick to getting them to be recognized as purchased songs?

I have music that i have purchased on a pervious device, with the same account. I have a new device and am trying to download the music on and it is not showing on the device that i have purchased this music. I have another device hooked up to the same account that shows the music and itunes shows that i have purchased the music. What do i do to get the music on my new device?

Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
Tap the Music app.
Find the song or album you want to download.
Tap the download icon next to the track or album title.
The song or album will begin downloading.

I recently updated iTunes, but now it shows that I only have 1 song in my Library, while everything else I ever purchased isn't showing up in my Library. They show up under Purchased but not in my Library. Help please?

I have tried dragging them to Music library to no avail

Make sure that the songs you purchased aren't in the music library for real. Close iTunes and restart the computer open it back up again and see if this works...if not tell me and give me time to think and I'll get right back with you.

Purchases do not show up on iTunes

I just got my first MacBook and iPod Touch and was excited to start using iTunes, but I made several purchases on iTunes and they do not show up on my computer. I also cannot find a way to download them from iTunes. I must be an idiot because this is supposed to be so intuitive. Help?

HT5622 Recently Purchased Songs Not Showing Up In Cloud

So I got a new computer for my birthday and decided to put on Itunes for me and my girlfriend to use. I have a huge library so I wanted to get it all redownloaded from itunes. I downloaded my songs from the cloud and noticed many were missing (recently purchased songs that I had bought over the summer, now its winter).
I know the songs are still in the cloud: Lindsey Stirling "Shadows" (example) yet it says I havent purchased it...but I know I have...
Why does itunes say I haven't purchased them and why am I not getting them back?

Audiobook purchased is not showing up in iTunes

I purchased an audiobook on my iPad and it is not showing up on my iPhone or my MAC computer. I went to iTunes on my home computer and I see the receipt for the purchase but it doesn't show up in my library? Any ideas? Thanks.

Thanks Neil. I was told I should purchase/download audiobooks to my computer first if I want them to sync to my other devices (apparently there's some glitch with audiobooks). I wasn't aware of this but I just tried it and downloaded it to my computer and now it shows up on my iPhone, etc.. Thanks.

Ipod songs not showing up in itunes

Although my ipod (5G - new in October) is showing up in itunes, it is not showing any of the songs on it. Today i imported two new CDs into itunes, and then added them onto the ipod - which says it has imported them, but they are not actually showing up on the ipod. I presume these two problems are linked. I have tried reinstalling both itunes and ipod software - but had no luck.... Does anyone know what I can do?

I am adding them as normal via itunes - dragging and dropping as my ipod is set up for manual rather than automatic update. Have been using an ipod for about four years and always done it this way without a problem.
The ipod is showing up in itunes, but as if it is empty (ie no music showing up) despite the fact that it says 25G is being used. Also, all the music i transferred yesterday onto the ipod - which is the only thing showing up as if it is on there when you look at it on itunes - is not actually on there at all....
It's a mystery!

Music that I have bought on amazon is showing up in the music folder on my hardrive, but when I select "open with itunes" itunes opens, but the song does not show up in my library.

Chances are that iTunes is uploading NEW content to your iPhone... since the songs are on your iPhone, but not on your computer, your computer is not removing them from your phone.
Second option:
The songs are still in the main library. have you checked the list of ALL of your songs on your computer?

Songs not showing up in iTunes

Recently many of my songs haven't been showing up in itunes. It happened randomly and decreased my library by about 3000 songs out of 10000 in no particular pattern (like date added, alphabetical order, downloaded songs, file format, etc.) except the songs are missing in groups of albums.
I tried reinstalling itunes and deleting the songs from itunes and reimporting them with no luck. I didn't change any options in the preferences tab, and I checked my actual music folder and it's all still there, but some songs just don't show up in itunes. What can I do to resolve this?

Maybe your "iTunes Music Library.xml" file got corrupted?? Try searching this file for some of the songs in question and see if they're in there at all and if so if there's anything funky about them.
Next step:
Try uninstalling iTunes and verifying that "iTunes Music Library.xml" is REMOVED and then reinstall and drag all your music into it again. I believe this will remove any playlists as well, so you should back them up...not quite sure how to do that.
