Purchased songs & playlist won't transfer

I recently bought some songs off of iTunes, and created a playlist as well, but these will not transfer onto my iPod. I've never had this problem before, but it's just not working no matter what I try. Thanks for any help you can give me!

Do they play in iTunes?

  • Is it possible to sync and share iTunes (specifically purchases, songs, playlists) with 2 computers having their own apple id? ,movies

Is it possible to sync, combine and share iTunes (specifically purchases, songs, playlists) with 2 computers having their own apple id?
I have been trying to find the answer to this for awhile now.

No it's not stealing. They have an allowance that you can share with so many computers/devices. You'll have to authorize her computer to play/use anything bought on your acct. You can do this under the Store menu at top when iTunes is open on her computer.
As far as getting it all on her computer....I think but I am not sure (because I don't use the feature) but I think if you turn on Home Sharing in iTunes it may copy the music to her computer. I don't know maybe it just streams it. If nothing else you can sign into your acct on her computer and download it all to her computer from the cloud. Not sure exactly how to go about that, I haven't had to do that yet. I wonder if once you authorize her computer and then set it up for automatic downloads (under Edit>Preferences>Store) if everything would download. Sorry I'm not much help on that.

  • Purchased song but won't play

    Hey everyone,
So I just purchased Joss Stone's new single and downloaded it. For some reason though, it will not play. The video works fine but when I click the song nothing happens at all. Any suggestions?

I am having the same issue. Ever since I updated iTunes to 7 and the following updates, I have had this issue. It happens with purchased music and videos. I downloaded the Super Bowl Highlights and still haven't been able to watch them.
The purchased songs will play for the first day I have them, and then they will not play any more. Sometimes, the song will play again, and nothing else on the playlist will work...fast forward to the next day, the newly purchased song/songs will not play, and the rest of the playlist will work fine. Aggrevating, to say the least.
    Please help us....

  • Can't get all purchased songs and videos to transfer to new ipod

I just had to trade in my year-old 80 GB Video ipod for a 'new' one due to battery failure. Erg. After syncing (sp?) my itunes library to the new device I noticed that not everything transferred and it still won't transfer when I try to do it individually. For example I have all 3 seasons of Lost and random episodes did not get transferred to the ipod. When I tried to transfer the missing tracks from my itunes library to the ipod IT WON'T LET ME!!! help.

AHA! I went into my ipod settings in my itunes account and just had to change the setting to 'transfer all episodes'. Duh. For some reason the default was set to 'all unwatched tv shows' which is weird b/c they've all been watched. A LOT! But hooray! It's fixed now

  • My Song's won't transfer...

Not only that, I am using my 30GB iPod Video. One day all songs I bought got deleted (on iTunes not my iPod) And from there on it would say "Updating songs" and I would recconnect it over and over, but no songs would ever transfer. I only have 14 songs on a 30 gig iPod, it is driving me up a wall, any ideas?

    No Problem.
You may want to get those songs on your computer (from your iPod). Here are a few options...
    YamiPod
    MacMuse: Computer Crashed
Once the songs are in iTunes you can set your iPod to automatically update and everything should be completely back to normal.
Also, make sure that you back up your music...

  • Is there anyway to get a list of songs that won't transfer to my ipod?

Every time I sync my ipod I get 74 items that are not able to be transfered. I know I can click on the + below the notification but I want to be able to see them listed by artist or album not by song. I just want to delete them off my Itunes so this message does not keep coming up. Is there anyway to get a list that compiles all these or am I going to have to write down all 74 songs and then delete them?
Or can I just delete them from the notification when it comes up?

No, and it's infuriating, isn't it? Whatever were the apple coders thinking, not even allowing us to cut/paste into a notepad file when that error message comes up?
Pencil is it, forget their iPad coolness....this is what it comes to when things don't work. Helloooo 1500s when the pencil was invented.
    edit
I have nagged them over the years to at least do a cut/paste thing. I suppose it's an improvement over not giving any error as to which file at all, which itunes did until a few years ago....

  • Some songs correctly loaded into iTunes but won't transfer to iPod

Can't figure this one out. I have 40-odd songs in my 2000 iTunes songs that won't transfer to iPod. Error message says the format is not recognized by my iPod, even though the songs appear and play normally in iTunes. Songs are about 7 years old. The file extension on them says ".mp3". However, I notice when I select a problem song and click "info", the information tells me the songs is a MPEG audio file; 6.8 mb size; sample rate 44.1 khz; format MPEG-1, Layer 2; ID3 Tag V1.0; Encoded with "Unknown". How do I properly load or convert these so they will play on my iPod? Do I need to convert them to AAC format, and if I do, what am I giving up? I have about 500 of these old songs in my library, which I haven't yet loaded into my iTunes. Thanks in advance for any help or expertise!

  • How can I find my playlists in this new interface?  And then, how can I transfer newly purchased songs to a playlist?

iCloud does not store messages for you to see/access at icloud.com.  It does back up messages so you can restore your iPhone if it ever needs to be reset to factory default.  A backup is an image of all your data on the iPhone, and if you delete some messages, then they won't be part of any further backups.
If two people use the same iCloud account, then their devices are kept in sync, just like a single user's multiple devices are kept in sync.  It's usually a good idea to have separate accounts for two people, since it's rarely the case that they want each phone to be an exact replica of the other.
Your iphone syncs contacts, events, camera roll, and many other things without the use of a computer.

  • HT2688 My daughter has used my computer to log into iTunes and download music but now it won't let me download recently purchased music from my iPad onto my computer. I want to transfer the recently purchased songs onto my iPod so how can I do this now.

My daughter has used my computer to log into iTunes and download music but now it won't let me download recently purchased music from my iPad onto my computer. I want to transfer the recently purchased songs onto my iPod so how can I do this now? iTunes now says that I have to wait another 55 days! There must be a way to do this since I have paid for them.

In iTunes sign out of your daughters Apple ID and sign in with your own.

  • I am downloading music from itunes it shows on my purchased playlist but when i try to transfer it onto a specific playlist it won't transfer across what do i need to do

When you are viewing the tracks on the hard disc, did you then click on "Import CD"?  This is needed to initiate the importing process that will add the tracks to your library.

  • Crashed Computer...Itunes purchased songs won't transfer?

I had to send in my laptop for service, in which they crash the computer. I had a library full of songs that I transferred to my Ipod shuffle. When I attempted to sync my shuffle with the newly re-downloaded Itunes, it said that I could not because it was attributed to another computer. It is this computer! The problem is that my computer was crashed. I purchased a song that will not transfer back to the computer. I don't know how to solve this and I feel that I am justified in having at least my purchased song available in the library. I should not have to repurchase it. I know that I burned the library of songs before I sent the computer in, how can I get them back onto the itunes library? Please help!

You probably still have all your songs on your Shuffle.
If this is the case, just rebuild your laptop library from there with any iPod to PC tool such as CopyTrans http://www.copytrans.net

  • HT1386 I am unable to sync my phone to my computer. Songs purchased on my phone won't transfer to my computer.

I am unable to sync my iphone to my computer. Music purchased on iphone will not transfer to my computer. I've gone through the sync process but nothing happens.

You don't need additional iCloud storage to sync photos.
You need to sign in to iCloud with the same Apple ID on both devices and enable Photo Stream.
Settings > iCloud > Apple ID - sign in then enable Photo Stream.
Photo Stream holds 30 days of photos on the server so anything on either device older than that won't sync. Additionally, you can only hold 1000 Photo Stream photos on your iOS device (the oldest will be replaced with the newest). To preserve these photos, they need to be saved to your Camera Roll and transfered to your computer.

  • Won't let me transfer purchased songs from one computer to another

The itunes wont let me transfer purchased songs from one computer to the other via home sharing even though both are authorised?

Burn that songs to a *DATA DVD/CD* using iTunes - then take the resulting disk to your desktop computer; that disk will show up in iTunes' left column; drag the songs into your library.

  • Missing music, iPod won't transfer certain songs.

I just recently recovered my computer from a hard disk wipe and I was able to get all my purchased songs from the iTunes store off the iPod, but I'm still missing a good 900+ songs that were added by me through other means. If there a way to get all of these songs off the iPod and back on to the library on my computer?

The transfer of non iTMS content such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows. The procedure is a bit involved and it won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. This is just a selection, you'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, they are generally quite straightforward. You can also read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
