Purchased the Photoshop / LightRoom 5 "CC" for $9.99 - where's the serial number(s)? (cross-post)
Title pretty much says it all.
I am new to Creative Cloud - and this forum, etc.
I purchased the $9.99 / month deal that Adobe is offering to new customers, etc.
Downloaded everything that I need to download (I think).
Tried to run Photoshop - but am being asked if I want to start my "trial"
or I have the option to "License This Software"
but where is the Serial Number for Photoshop & LightRoom 5?
I imagine it's right under my nose - but I do not see it anywhere.
The screen which appears (after I sign in) says:
Am I supposed to "Start Trial" or "License This Software"
To make things even more confusing:
I just ran LightRoom 5 for the first time.
There was a serial number automatically inserted in the space provided.
Not sure what's going on - but this is becoming a little overwheling.
I suppose it's the price I must pay for being an old fart!

Hi. Sorry, but I don't have any good news for ya.
My issue has been resolved, however - it was due to a lengthy chat I had online with an Adobe Associate.
We were able to get everything running the way 'twas intended,
but there were some hoops of fire with which I had to jump.
Wish I could help....but the only thing I can say is to attempt a "Live Chat"
With the Adobe help team.

ScottOk, it looks like I couldn't contact the servers, but the Adobe application did not tell me anything: no feedback. I have gone into C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts and removed all the firewall IP filters, and photoshop opens. You can then revert the hosts file to get all your anti-spam and adblocking filters and photoshop still opens. To be clear, Adobe seems to be using some special ip address to tell your app that it's licensed, this address could be on any number of spam blacklists (because I guess it's used to phone hime about app usage and sell you stuff). So check your hosts file, OR check your work firewall / router.
@Adobe, help people out, just say 'unable to contact license servers'. When your infrastructure fails, and paying customers mysteriously get trial software, it makes Creative Cloud look broken, and frustrates the people you want to give you money. -
Hi! I had purchased Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5 Full - English - Multiple Platforms - Download. Had received a serial number to activate my license. I am nott able to update this to the latest version. Tried entering the license key which I had received for LR5. does not work with LR6
Your serial number is for version 5 and not for Lightroom 6. If will install LR 6 you have to buy a update and the you get a new serial number.

One yesterday and one today, i'm really not happy about this, to be honest I've had nothing but bother using every Adobe product i've bought.

I just purchased Adobe Photoshop Elements 13 for a Mac and trying to install. I am at the point to enter the serial number but it won't take letters. What do I do and where do I go for help?
If the code you are trying to enter has letters then you are not looking at a serial number. A serial number only contains numbers - 6 sets of 4 numbers.
Find your serial number quickly
You might be dealing with a redemption code. This is especially so if you purchased it from a store or the like.

There is no serial number for the CC version of LR.
You should uninstall the trial which is asking for a serial number – your catalog and images won’t be affected.
Then Quit the CC Desktop application, using Gear / Quit or right-click / Quit
Then restart the CC Desktop application.
Now you should have LR listed in the CC Desktop apps list with an Install button. -
Why is my free Beta Photoshop Lightroom asking for a license?
In the nearly daily Flash Update I received an offer for a "Free Beta Photoshop Lightroom" and for once took Adobe up on one of their offers. I figured even though it was a Beta it would be nice to have a free program to go along with my paid version of CS Master Collection. I installed the flash update and recieved no notification that Lightroom had been installed. First bad sign. I checked my applications and yes, it was there, great. I clicked on it and it then asked me to decide to enter my license number or to choose the 30 day free trial.
Free Trial?
The offer was not for a free trial. It was for a Free Beta version with no mentinon of a trial period. Is Adobe familar with the false advertising laws in America? I am saddened with the direction that Adobe seems to have taken with their advertising and promotional inaccuracies. Had I known this was a free trial I would not have accepted the download. Considering it was advertised as free I want my free light room.
I dont think it is wise for Adobe to be making their long time customers unhappy. Is adobe going to stand behind their advertisement in the updates?
I was told by the chat help that they do not know anything about this as well. How can adobe not know what ads they have with their flash player updates?
I am getting very dissappointed with the games Adobe is playing.

I am sorry you do not have the experience of going to a Software site and seeing the offer of Beta software. The largest of course is MS who has offered Beta in a number of different manners. Some with a year time limit others with no time limit due to it being a beta. Many companies offer it.
This is a customer complaint and a resolution should be found and not disbuted because of your personal expereinces that have no bearing on my experiences or your disbelief.
An example of a good helpful post is Vicotria's post. She is attempting to find out what is going on, you and the other guy are provoking an argument, and that is not staying on topic. I dont care that you need proof that I have beta's from whatever source I received them from. I would like to know what happened.

Thank you for trying to find a solution. The windows are not the same but are similar. Considering I do not have a screen shot, could I have misread it? Maybe. I dont have a screen shot to disbute it. Why I am considering that I misread it is because you tried to duplicate my experience and had appear on two different machines. That unlike the other off color posts suggests I misread it and was not dillusional about companies offering betas and my beta releases on my shelves.
I will take a screen shot from now on when these offers come up. Thank You Victoria.

That screen capture you have is the web page also. The update comes up in its own seperate window on the computer when a new update is available. I have the settings where it will not do auto updates. It will inform me when an update is available. -

You don't need a license or a serial number to download Lightroom, which is the problem you state you are having. What is the license you purchased, anyway? Can you give us details? -
I bought Lightroom 3 and want to upgrade to Lightroom 5 for Windows 7. Is the upgrade free and how do I go about the download?
You have to pay for major version upgrades, like LR 3 to LR 5.
You can purchase the upgrade from Adobe for 79 US Dollars from Products, make sure you have your Lightroom 3 serial number available (and maybe cheaper from other sellers) -
