Purchased track has a part of another track

The purchased track has a part of the next track at the end, a second or so. As it is rather annoying, I'd like to erase the end. What programme should I use? And will the track play normally in iTunes library after that?

FIrst you can set iTUnes to ...Ignore I guess you could call it..The last second of the track. Play the track near the end, take note of the time the one song ends. Now rightclick the song, hit "Get Info" and hit "Options" tab. Type in the time in the "Stop Time" field and put a check mark beside it. Now iTUnes will stop before the next "Blended in" track begins, also your ipod will too.
Secondly I suggest Emailing the music store about this so they can fix it on there side. you can goto the link below, roll to the bottom of the page and fill out the Email form.

If for some reason you failed to maintain a backup copy of your computer ( not good), then you can redownlaod some itunes content in some countries:

  • ITunes purchased track has extra silence! How to fix?

My iTunes purchased track "Cay's Cray's (Artificial Intelligence Remix)" has an additional 15 seconds of silence that I believe is not found in the retail version, and I think this may affect the flow of my playlists and mixes.
How might this be fixed or compensated for using available iTunes or Windows tools, as I am unfamiliar with editing rights-managed AAC files?

    Hi, c13.
... as I am unfamiliar with editing rights-managed AAC files?
    Your options are limited.
Without editing the file, you might find the Start/Stop Time feature in iTunes helpful - right-click the track > Get Info > Options tab and set the appropriate times.
If you want to actually edit it, you may find b noir's User Tip helpful but only after you have the file in a more "editing-friendly" format . Note that the song will lose audio fidelity in each of the various conversion steps it goes through.
Finally, if you think the 15 seconds of silence is there by mistake, you can report it to Apple by looking at the A purchased song sounds bad section of this Support page .

  • IPod won't sync purchased tracks (.m4p files)

My iPod will no longer sync songs I purchased from the iTunes store. The albums do not appear anywhere, and playlists do not contain purchased tracks. I noticed this after the last iTunes update (the version that introduced full screen cover flow). Everything else is working - I can sync podcasts and music ripped from CD's.
    There are several other changes in my iPod that I believe to be related;
    * I can't update the version; instead a see message that "Only Macintosh-formatted iPods can be updated" (my iPod is Windows formatted but I now use it on my mac).
    * I cannot restore, instead I see a message that my iPod cannot be found.
Does anyone know of a fix for these issues?
    1.25 GHz 15" PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.9)   4G 40GB iPod Software: 3.1.1

I just had the idea to sync my iPod using USB, whereas I had been using Firewire. It worked! No errors during transfer and all of my tracks show up on the iPod. I was able to do "Restore" and now my iPod is Mac formatted, and the Update button is available.
    I'm marking my question as answered, but after this experience, I still wonder about Apple's support for older iPods;
    1) Has Apple dropped Firewire support from iTunes with the recent updates?
    2) Does a windows-formatted-ipod-used-on-mac fall into a void that is not fully functional in iTunes?

  • My old computer with my iTunes library on along with my iPod was destroyed in a fire. I have since got a new laptop and iPod plus started a new library with a new email address. How do I get the purchased tracks from my old library onto my new one?

Obviously I spent a lot of money on my old computer and on tracks for the iTunes library plus iPod and I don't wish to have to buy all those tracks again - though I had no choice but to buy a new laptop and iPod.

It looks as though i would be in situation where i have both accounts on the same computer but need a seperate ipod for each but i cant afford to but another ipod so i am letting things be as they are. I now back-up all my stuff in my current itunes library to an external driver so if the laptop breaks down i at least have saved the music to install on a new laptop or netbook. I would sign up for the icloud to save my music on that but as i understand it the cloud will only hold itune purchased tracks and those imported from cds and not any mp3 tracks purchased from another online retailer.
Thanks for helping me come to a long overdue descision on my original query.

  • Not matching PURCHASED tracks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After MobileMess, you'd think these people would make sure things work before they release them.
I have tracks that I purchased from the iTunes Music Store that iTunes Match is telling me it has to upload.
    What?!!!!!!!!?
It's bad enough that some albums are partially matching.  But, to have this POS tell me that purchased tracks have to be uploaded is absolutely ridiculous.
It's CLEAR that this thing is not ready-for-primetime and should have, at the least, been labeled a Beta release.  The upshot of it, I'll be calling Customer Relations and getting no less than an extra year for free from this debacle.

I tend to think that this could be a combination of Apple stumbling just a bit with this execution as well as restrictions from the music labels.  There are plenty of matches in my library that are not available for purchase in the store (no complaints here for that feature!) as well as a few store purchases made in the 128 kbps DRM days that do not match and required upload.  At least one of those cases I looked into is for a group that pulled their wares from the store years ago.  Out of 10,000 songs of mixed origin in my library, 1200 required uploading; still going through them looking for possible reasons but there are definitely store purchases in the lot.  I'm betting there will be improvement in the match rate, in time.

  • Problems authorizing computer to play purchased tracks.

I, too, appear to be one of the unfortunate souls who upgraded to iTunes 7.3.1 (3). I can open iTunes just fine, and all my purchased tracks and playlists are still there. However, when I try to play a purchased track, I get the following message: "This computer is not authorized to play...Would you like to authorize it?" So I type my password and click on authorize. But then I get the following message: "There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later." Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is there really a problem with the iTunes Store? Or is the problem with iTunes?

I did a search of other questions for iTunes and found a fix to this problem. It involved fixing permissions. I wish I had more details, but I can't remember all the details. You will need to search the other questions.

  • Unable to burn purchased tracks to CDs - MP4 format

Has anyone solved this one? I have my preferences set to audio CD? I'm wondering if its because I am using CD RWs should I just try CD Rs?
If I cant burn the purchased music to CDs theres no point in buying from iTunes.

How are you trying to burn the tracks? Do you know that you need to create a playlist and burn it to CD rather than burn the tracks directly to CD?
Your purchased music is covered by DRM, so this restricts the number of times you can create a CD with your purchased tracks. You can only burn the same playlist to CD up to seven times. If you've already burned your purchased album then you'd be better making a copy of the CD you've already created.

  • Can't join purchased tracks

I know how to join tracks imported from a CD, but I want to join tracks purchased from the Music Store and can't do it. How do I join purchased tracks?

    Hi there,
I did some searching here in the forums about this, and I think i found an answer that would be useful to you. I apologize to the original poster, as I am not going to cite his name, but here is what he said:
"The process of compression to MP3 or AAC adds a blank space to the beginning or end of the file itself. This is sometimes called "encoder gap". If this encoder gap is not accounted for, then combining two compressed files together (even if they're at the same bitrate and such) will still leave a tiny audible gap in the file.
iTunes does not have any support for true gapless playback, and so it would be unable to correct for that encoder gap. Even if it did understand gapless, combining the streams like that is problematic for many other reasons. The only real way to do it is to re-encode them both, which causes a quality loss, so it's a bad idea to begin with.
Whereas joining CD tracks is mainly a matter of ripping them together into one track, which is easy because a "track" is just a marker, it's not an actual change in the datastream.
Suffice it to say that there are technical reasons behind it, and the overriding reason is iTunes lack of proper gapless support."
There, that seems pretty comprehensive to me. I hope this helps.

  • Help! Have tried to purchase tracks this afternoon, but asks me to enter new agreement. I accept but get "session time out, try again later"  Any clues? Getting brassed off!

Hi, I've got an old eMac. I've tried purchasing tracks this afternoon and this evening. Log into account no problem. Starts to download but straight away screen switches to a new iTunes agreement. I accept/ agree to this new agreement, but get the following message - "Session timed out. Try again later". Have shut everything down and restarted - get the same result. Starting to get brassed off. Not very computer literate. HELP!

Still waiting for help: But, i now wonder if this is even an answerable topic? I thought since others had had this problem too that someone would know what to do.
WHat about how to contact a "Live" person employed by apple to trouble shoot unsolvable problems in discussion groups?  That tip would help me get to the bottom of this issue.  Thank you in advance,

  • ITunes 7.3.1 - lost purchased tracks + playlists

Hi guys hope some1 can help. I updated my iTunes to 7.3.1 2 days ago and up until 2 hrs ago all my purchased tracks and playlists were intacked. Now everytime i open it there are no playlists or purchased music listed. I checked my purchase history in the store and they are all listed there but not in my library. When i opened my finder they are also listed but my Library is empty. Please help.

I just went through hours of **** with this 7.3.1 itunes update. I couldn't open Quicktime as well. And Software Update wouldn't let me download the latest Quicktime update.
    Itunes was opening and then immediately quitting. So here is what I did after trying everthing I could think of;
I got rid of itunes altogether and then downloaded itunes 4 from ilife '05 using Pacifist to select itunes only. It still wouldn't open correctly. So on a whim I downloaded Quiktime 7.2 from the Apple site only. Opened fine. Then, I downloaded itunes 7.0 from ilife '06 and everthing seems to be working fine.... so far. I am assuming I will have no trouble going from itunes 7.0 to 7.1 to 7.2.. No way in **** am I going to 7.3.1 though!! Hope this helps everyone!

  • IPod 5th gen won't play purchased tracks - my solution

    Hey folks;
I recently came across the same problem some of you experienced. I bought a new iPod 5G and sync'd it with my iTunes music library. All my mp3-files and podcasts played fine but my purchased tracks were simply skipped by my iPod.
iTunes played them fine; just the iPod wouldn't.
Here's what I did to resolve the situation.
    0. Make sure you have a backup-copy of the music files in your library. If not - do not proceed. // Write down which podcasts you have subscribed to.
    1. Deauthorize your computer
    2. Uninstall iTunes using the control panel in windows
    3. Uninstall Quicktime Player
4a. Run "regedit.exe" and make sure all registry-keys regarding apple have been removed from "HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SOFTWARE\Apple Computer, Inc."
4b. If they're still there; remove them (Right-click; select "Delete" and click Yes)
    5. Delete the directory "C:\Documents and Settings\<YOURUSERNAME>\Application Data\Apple Computer" if its still present
    6. Reboot
    7. Re-install iTunes
    8. Re-import your music into itunes from the backup-location, resubscribe to your podcasts and play a purchased song to re-authorize your computer.
    9. Plug-in iPod and have fun.
This worked for me. So I'm just glad, that my iPod wasn't defective.

forgive me for my apparent stupidity, but I am not much of an IT person.
when you say to back up the music library, do you mean the itunes library or the ipod library? I have cleared my itunes library (to keep space on my pc free) and only have music saved on the ipod.
