  • Videos will not load in Firefox only. Have reinstalled, restored, etc.

Videos (from YouTube, Facebook, websites, etc.) will not load in Firefox. I've tried reinstalling Firefox, restoring all settings to default, disabling all addons, extensions, etc. When I try to load a video, a dark rectangle appears where the video should and my cursor just shakes. In Chrome, Internet Explorer, etc. the videos load and play with no problems, no hesitation, so it must be some setting or some bad file with Firefox, but I feel like I've tried everything.
I'm using Windows 7 on an HP laptop. I've checked my Firefox settings against those on my desktop PC and can find no variances. This problem is driving me mad, so please help.....
    Thanks.

    Hello,
Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
    Then perform these steps:
*Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
*In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
*In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
*Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:
    * [[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]]
    * [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL]]
You can also disable hardware acceleration in Flash: <br> <br>
Some problems with Flash video playback can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in your Flash Player settings. (See [[Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems|this article]] for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).
To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:
#Go to this [http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues Adobe Flash Player Help page].
#Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
#Click on '''Settings''' in the context menu. The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.
    # Click on the icon at the bottom-left of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window to open the Display panel. <br/> <br/>[[Image:fpSettings1.PNG]] <br/>
    # Remove the check mark from '''Enable hardware acceleration'''.
    # Click '''Close''' to close the Adobe Flash Player Settings Window.
    # Restart Firefox.
This [http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/help01.html Flash Player Help - Display Settings page] has more information on Flash Player hardware acceleration, if you're interested.<br> <br>

  • Purchased items will not load since iOS 6

Both iPhone 5 &amp; iPad 3 on iOS 6 will not load purchased items tab in the App Store app.

Yup, did that also signed out &amp; back in multiple tones on both devices.
Have reset network settings, have hard reset devices,
Have restored device both from icloud and once from Mac as NEW as well
    As restore.
I can't see how this can be a device issue as both iPad &amp; iPhone became unable to load
Purchases as soon as iOS 6 came into the picture.
Feels like its an iOS 6 issue or an apple I'd issue,
But since others are having it as we'll it must be iOS 6.

  • Flash videos will not load

So I have a problem loading pretty much any flash videos in
both Firefox and IE. The video will load to a certain point and
then stop, and nothing I do will get it load further, not even
refreshing the page. I have to close out of the browser and get
back to it to have any chance of watching more. On YouTube, I can
sometimes click further on to make it start loading from there, and
even that stops working eventually. It's really, really annoying,
and I'm pretty sure it's something with Flash and not Java. Anyone
    else have this?

  • Moving Ipod and Itunes to another computer - purchased items will not load

I recently moved my music and video from one computer to another. All music that I loaded from CD moved fine. The items that I purchase from the iTunes store, was erased from my iPod but remains in my library. Additionaly, when I purchased more music on the new computer, it goes into the library, but not onto the iPod. I have not deauthorized the first computer, but I need to somehow "authorize" the new computer, but I don't know how.
    Please help

  • Fascinate video will not load into iphoto on macbook

my mp4 video opens in quicktime player.  I "saved as" in quicktime to a .mov file.
neither the mp4 or the .mov file will load into iphoto.
iphoto error message says, "could not be imported, unrecognizable format."
I tried a new SD card and new video file, no help.

You said that the quicktime video was in the .mp4 format and the saved as a .mov format. I'm not sure but if you are trying to get them into iphoto is iphoto looking for a .jpg format?

  • Videos Will Not Load - 'HTTPS:' only valid workaround on certain sites

    Windows 7, 32-bit
    Firefox 12, 32-bit
    Flash Player Version 11.2.202.235
I'm unable to load videos from many sites right now, and I've done everything else I can possibly think to do except ask for help here. The problem started spontaneously. Nothing seems to have been added to cause this, as it literally happened overnight (possibly during the day, as I have the recollection of running into error messages suddenly, and them never stopping), and even if it had, a system restore should have resolved the issue. It didn't. I've tried all of the following, none of which helped:
-System Restored to Well Before the problem occured.
    -Uninstalled Firefox.
-Upgraded to latest version of Firefox.
    -All add-ons disabled.
    -Uninstalled Flash Player
-Upgraded to most recent version of Flash Player.
    -Drivers are up to date.
-Ran through all of Adobe's Troubleshooting options.
There shouldn't be any issue with an ad-blocker, as I don't believe I have one, and even if I did, for it to work perfectly one minute, then stop the next is absurd. Nothing changed with my PC-Cillin virus scanner. I even disabled internet protection completely, yet it changed nothing.
    PROBLEM MANIFESTATIONS:
    Youtube:
HTTPS Server: Plays all videos & components just fine.
    Regular Server:
If an ad preceedes it, the ad never loads, and the skip button can never be pressed.
Can play videos without an ad preceeding it, but cannot load Closed Captions or Annotations (which has a symbol next to the button).
Despite never loading the ad, it lists the file's name, and clicking on it will take me to the ad's own youtube link, which plays fine. That also tells me Youtube's ads are on-site, so where's the breakdown occuring in getting an ad to load?
ORIGINALLY, when this manifested weeks back, Youtube spat out an "Error Loading Video. Please try again later." message. That stopped after about 2 weeks, now it gets to the point where it realizes it needs to load an Ad, but won't.
    IGN.com:
    HTTPS Server: Plays videos fine.
    Regular Server: Perpetual loading ring.
*: Some other sites never load the video or stream at all, even on a Secure Server. The video container is completely empty (Whereas on Youtube it realizes it needs to load an ad, but doesn't).
I'd like to fix this instead of having to switch browsers, but what am I to do? Nobody's been able to offer a solution, and everything I've tried has failed. I see no legitimate cause for this either. What Flash Player problem could survive a system restore and reinstallation of my browser and flash player?
Your time and assistance mean a lot to me. Thank you for any help you can give me with this frustrating issue,
    - Jini

Since Chrome is working, then there's something going wrong with your IE and Firefox installs of Flash Player.  Could you tell me what files you have in the C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash folder?

  • Vine videos will not load

I'm not sure exactly when this started happening, whether it was related to a new version of Firefox or not. But at some point embedded Vine videos on other sites would no longer play. For a time I could go to the video itself on vine.co and that would work -- but now nothing plays there either.
I've done everything I can to research this. Turned off all add-ons, used that about.config trick that's frequently recommended for this problem, turned off plugins, added new plugins, refreshed Firefox, used a new profile -- nothing seems to make a difference. The only thing I haven't done yet is uninstalled/reinstalled Firefox completely.
Any advice, please? I stopped using Chrome because it was such a memory hog, and would prefer not to go back again.

Try a new profile, there are a couple of conflicting extensions listed in your troubleshooting information. Instead of disabling one by one, a new profile will tell you if an extension is the issue.
    * [[Use the Profile Manager to create and remove Firefox profiles]]
Safe Mode will tell you if it is an add on or hardware acceleration: *[[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]]
Right click on the embedded video and click on the settings listed in the right click menu. Are there any settings here?

  • YouTube videos will not load in Firefox

    Hi,
I cannot get YouTube videos to play in my desktop's Firefox browser. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit with Firefox 24.0.
I have searched for solutions to the problem, and tried all of these:
    -Completely clearing my cache
-Disabling ad blocking software on youtube.com
-Installing the latest version of RealPlayer
-Installing the latest version of Flash Player
None of these have worked. Every YouTube video I load just displays a large black rectangle.
    What should I do?

First, update your YouTube Center extension, which got two releases last month since the version you have installed. That might work using the built-in update check, or you may need to visit the Add-ons site:
    * Built-in: orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > "gear" button > Check for Updates
    * Add-ons page: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/youtube-center/ ''(Firefox restart needed for this update to take effect)''
    Does that fix it?
Although the latest RealPlayer / RealDownloader should work with current Flash players, you may want to test with those disabled. You can do that on these two tabs:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Plugins category<br>
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Extensions category
Usually a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
    Does that make any difference?
Other standard steps for resolving Flash issues are as follows:
    (1) Disable hardware graphics acceleration in Firefox and in Flash
    (A) In Firefox, un-check the box here and restart:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > General > "Use hardware acceleration when available"
    (B) In Flash, see this support article from Adobe: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues
    (2) Disable protected mode (Windows Vista/7/8)
See this support article from Adobe under the heading "Last Resort": [http://forums.adobe.com/message/4468493#TemporaryWorkaround Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?]

  • HTML Page with Flash Video will not load in Firefox and Chrome

When going to the page http://www.airsept.com/linespliceanimation.html in Firefox (latest version) I am prompted to either open or save the file as if I clicked a link to download a file.  Going to this web page in Google Chrome displays the code.
What the crap is going on?  I can't figure it out.  It works as it should in IE 7.

It looks like you fixed it.  You should close it now so so it won't be listed as open.
