I purchases a TV show via itunes on my 2nd gen apple TV, but it's not showing on my home sharing network???? Any ideas??

On your iMac go to iTunes > Preferences > Store > Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases.
Then look under your TV Shows and see if it shows your purchased episodes there with a cloud icon.

How transfer movies from itunes to apple tv but not from aTV to itunes
I want to transfer the movies and tv shows that I have in iTunes to my Apple TV but I dont want the content of my apple tv to be transfered to itunes, I dont have enough space in my macbook. I tried to sync them but it automatically copies the content of apple tv to itunes and when I cancel the sync it threatens me to erase the content of my apple tv. I took the risk and disconnected itunes from my apple tv, nothing purchased on apple tv was erased but the movies that miraculously were able to be copied from itunes to atv were erased from atv (i still have them on itunes). I still want to transfer those movies to my apple tv, but whenever I do that apple tv keeps syncing with itunes and sends everything to my macbook. I just want to free space of my macbook without erasing anything from apple tv.
It's the way it works.
the iTunes library is supposed to be 'in sync' with AppleTV, so anything bought on AppleTv copies to iTunes to keep things in sync.
If you delete from iTunes it'll delete from appletv too.
There's no manual way to get stuff off appletv so you must make a backup of the files transferred to itunes.
If you then delete the files from their folder direct (right click on a file in itunes and open it's location) but DON'T delete the entry in itunes, you'll free space up on the laptop. You must make a copy first onto say a DVD or external drive unless you're happy for things just to be on appletv and to lose the if it fails/breaks. Remember you cannot manually access the files in appletv to do a file transfer. -

My iPod froze a couple days ago when i was uploading some songs, so i took it to the store and the genius actually had to erase ALL my songs and files ( cry ).
so i took it home and connected to my computer, but it doesn't show on my iTunes!!!
i updated the iTunes and iPod and tried the reset button but it is still not showing... what else can i do?????

OK, I'm about to give up... My computer shows up in Apple TV (2nd Gen) in the ATV home sharing computer list but I am unable to find any reference to a sync menu or any options to force the sync to occur. I find references here in the support community to ATV showing up in iTunes. I can't find that anywhere. My firewall is off. I am using a Time Machine as my wireless router.

The Apple TV2 doesn't sync, it's a streaming only device.

Yes that's only for the Apple TV 1

Which file extension do those files get when you save them?
If they do not have a valid file extension for an image like .jpg or .png then try to rename the files and give them a .jpg file extension to see if that helps.<br />
If Windows is hiding the file extension then use quotes ("image.jpg") around the name.<br />
You can verify the file type via the right-click context menu > Properties. -

My Apple TV will not show my photos in iPhoto on my iMac in the same sequence of images that I can see when viewing the iPhoto photos on my iMac. This is especially frustrating when I try to show my travel pictures in sequence on my TV. I have to resort to showing them on my iMac which defeats the principle purpose for purchasing my MacTV. Does anyone have a solution?

Doug MayI can't recall whether slideshows are ordered by title or date, but you can manually re-arrange the albums in iPhoto, then batch change them once you have the order you want.

i have the ipod touch 4th generation and the screen is white, i was going to charge it and it turned white. I have tried to reset it but the apple logo will not show up and it will not turn on! i just got it for christmas... can you please help?
The way I did it was I got the free app sync:stream from the App Store and then added my ipod to my ps3's Bluetooth devices. Then went to audio settings and set output and input to 'Skaggs iPod' you then open the app and it will be listed under music as a media service. You then go to all tracks and click copy (press triangle) it will then begin to copy all of your songs onto your ps3 via Bluetooth. I haven't tried but I assume the same can be done with photos. Digital copy transferred successfully to my computer, but not showing up in purchased list on other devices. This is the first time I've encountered this issue. Package insert says copy is iPad compatible. Is there anything I can do to fix this? (The movie was Kung Fu Panda)
it's a known issue. Everyone is experiencing this issue. Give it time for Apple to rectify the issue.

How in the world does Apple market the iPod, etc... as if 10-year olds and grandmothers can operate the technology, when having viewed these message boards for 10 hours yesterday, it seems as even the tech savy people who can make a computer out of two pieces of bread and a piece of bologna have to wrack their brains to make it come a step closer to actually working. Blah!!!
Anyway, the problem that I am having is the problem that a lot of other people are having and seems to be the main theme at the moment.
I am unable to have iTunes recognize my iPod. My PC will once-in-a-blue-moon recognize the iPod as its own drive in Windows Explorer, but mostly all I get is the big freeze. Every time I connect my iPod to the USB, all of the programs cease to operate until I unplug it. I am not having memory problems either.
Here's what I've done. I have updated the iPod Updater to the 06-23-06 version. I was able to get it to update the software on my 60GB iPod. I got all excited only to then have it give me several error messages 1) an internal manager error and 2) some unable to dock or something like that (sorry I'm not at my home cpu.) Once while I was doing the 4-hour battery charge my iPod came up in the source list in iTunes, but I have been unable to have it be rerecognized.
I've unistalled and reinstalled iTunes and the iPod Updater over 10 times and have gone through the 5 Rs as well as all of the steps on

Pfft!!!You know they are probably going to search me out and crash my computer for posting this but i had the same problem with iTunes. i spent hours, went through the 50000 "R's" and changed my settings and formatted and reset and reloaded and then i tried Realaudio. it found all the songs i had loaded into iTunes and put them on my shuffle first try. you can get Realaudio at <www.real.com> Let me know how it works...
