Purchases made from another computer not appearing in iTunes on new MAC

Hello everyone,
I'm new to the Mac world and am still familiarizing myself. As a former PC user, I made several purchases from my PC (music only) that are not showing up on iTunes on my shiny new mini Mac. Is this normal? How do I download my previous purchases to the mini?

Copy them from the old machine to a flash drive, then from the flash drive to the new machine. Alternatively, you can use your iPod to transfer purchased files.

I have purchased movies on both my itunes and apple tv. However, my apple tv movies do not appear on my itunes. I would like to either have them all on my itunes or all on my apple tv (or is it iCloud??).

If a movie is removed from the iTunes store then yes you would lose it.
I think you misunderstand what icloud is, there is no 'raw contents'.
iCloud allows for reloading of past purchases (it is simply accessing what is on the storefront), syncing contents between devices and backup of mobile data. It is different from say something like dropbox.

Ipod touch not appearing in itunes on new mac

Hi,
I'm fairly new to this and may be a bit slow, I have had my iPod touch for a few years with no problems,I recieved an iMac for Christmas and have just got around to setting things up but I cannot get my iPod and iMac to sync. The iMac recognises it as a camera,even though it does not have one, but not as an iPod.Any help will be gratefully received.

If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar and Control+B to show the Menu bar

Extracting purchases made from another computer

My laptop broke and I had quite a few purchases on it. There is no way to recover them from the broken laptop, is there a way to recover them from my purchase history on to my new laptop?

You can ask for a re-grant, but APple will have to pay royalties again.
Do you have those purchases on an ipod? You can easily get them from an ipod.

I need to find out how to get my older purchases from my account made on another computer to show on my new computer. Very frustrated, please help.

no, b/c when i plugged it in to the new computer and started buying new music all of the old songs just cleared out of the ipod. I don't know why that happened but I can see the songs I bought in my purchase history, I just cannot play them or put the in my music library.

Why do the playlists i made on my iphone not appear in itunes ?

When i make playlists on my iphone they work fine on my phone, but when i plug my phone into itunes, under my iphone tab it only shows the playlists i made on my computer and not the ones i made on my phone. This isn't really the big issue, though; what concerns me is the fact that whenever i add new music to my phone itunes deletes all the playlists that i made on my phone. Some people have said to just make a new playlist in itunes that exactly matches the one i made on my phone, i know in theory that would work, however i currently have 61 playlists, many of which have almost 1000 songs arranged in a specific order. It takes me hours to copy over a single playlist and i simply cannot do that 61 times every time i add music to my phone. Also i manually manage my music and i can't change to automatic becuase my itunes library doesn't match my iphone library, so that isn't an option. The part i don't understand is that this has never been a problem until recently, possibly after an itunes update. Some people have said playlists made on your phone are like "on-the-go" playlists and itunes doesn't sync them. But i distinctly remember back when i used my 3rd gen. nano i could make on the go playlists on my ipod but i couldn't name them, so i would plug it into itunes and they would show up there and i could name them. It was the same thing with my ipod touch except i could name them without having to use itunes, but they would still show up in itunes. I remember it being the same way when i first got my iphone (4s), i'm not sure what changed, but i can't keep re-doing my playlists every time i want to add music. Isn't there a way to export a playlist then import it?

I have just used the external drive method to transfer my itunes library from the old mac to my new macbook pro. I moved the whole itnues folder into the music folder, as directed, having removed the empty itunes folder than was there by default on the new macbook. But when I open itunes, none of the music appears, even though it is now in the right place. I am just offered the splach screen to 'scan for media', the same as when I opened iTunes when the computer first arrived. If I do that, I'm worried it's going to pick up everyting on the computer, and I only want my old itunes library to work!

Try copying the iTunes folder from your old computer again. Then, open iTunes holding the Option (Alt) key, so it will ask you for the library. Just go to the folder where the iTunes library is, and select it, so the songs should load correctly

Aperture - Album from Shared Library Not Appearing in iTunes

I have a recurring problem which is making Aperture downright useless.
I operate a shared Aperture library (shared between 2 users on the same iMAC) which resides in the 'Shared' Users folder. Obviously we cannot have the same library open at the same time -that's no problem. I have set the sharing properties for the library contents and folders to Read and Write for both of us.
The problem is that when I add photos and create a new Project ad Album to put them in (not worried about the other user at the moment), these don't show up in the Aperture album or project list in Photos in iTunes to sync to my iPad or iPhone.
I have this very minute added a new album, closed Aperture and made sure its written to disk. Then I have closed the iTunes app and made sure it has quit.
Then when iTunes loads up again and I connect my device - the library and project do not appear in the items to sync.
This happens all of the time and it's making Aperture pretty pants. If the only resolution is to rebuild thumbnails, rebuild XML file etc or any more of that - then its not fit for purpose.
Has anybody a long term permanent fix for this?
It's seriously doing my head in!

Here's the story - I have a Video Ipod. I have music on it from my ITunes that I installed on my computer (PC). My sister has her own computer with her own itunes and her own ipod installed on it (same model Ipod and same version Itunes and also a PC). I want her music. I want it on my Ipod. How do I do this?
When I connected my ipod to her computer it said that another user was using Ipod software and that they had to log off before it would recognize my ipod. How do I do this without affecting her Itunes/Ipod settings? Help? Thank you....

i have a new mac and ipad not being listed under devices on itunes. however my iphone is so i know the usb works. i tried the troubleshooting techniques as well and that did not address. any ideas? thanks

MacMini only starts from another computer-not itself

I have a current Mac Mini (6,2) with 16gb RAM that I tried to wipe clean in preparation to sell. I am now aware that I could have done this through the recovery partition that is now part of the current OS, but didn't know that an hour ago. I booted in Target disk mode from my MBP, formatted the hd on the MacMini, and installed ML on the Mini from my MBP. When I restarted the MacMini after OS installation, I only see the white startup screen with a circle and line through it. I can restart without a problem from my MBP, but the MacMini won't start up on its own.

Long shot, but since nothing else is working.
If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode. Shut down the computer and then power it back up. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the grey Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal.

Is there a way to download all my purchased music onto a different computer I authorize? my last computer bit the dust and i was unable to deauthorize it and I would like to download the music I bought on to the computer I am able to use. Also, is there a way to link accounts, I have 2 itunes user names and would like to link them.
