Purchasing a New Gaming Computer

I am trying to buy a computer. The basis of this computer is to game, but I still want it to be able to perform normal tasks. I would like it to be able to run games of the level of Skyrim. My price range is up to $700 not including the screen. Any help would be awesome.

If you have any computer knowledge at all I would say build it.
If you can read up and understand how to build it. Also if you can read/understand troubleshooting documents then it's a no-brainier to build it.
You do take a small risk on messing up the computer parts, but as long as you are careful and ground yourself before working on it you should be fine.
The worst part is DLing/installing drivers and making sure everything is working properly (which windows 7 has made a lot easier then previous iterations).
Computers I build for gaming cost $800-$1000 and would cost $1,500-$2,000 retail. But that is also waiting on good sales.
You can get a good gaming computer for $600 if you watch sales and give it a month or so.

Hi I recently purchased a new mac computer and would like to sync the music off my iPhone to my new mac. However, my phone and my new mac have different apple Ids.The PC which my phone is synced and has the same apple ID but does not let me transfer the music. Home sharing is not working. How do I successfully transfer and sync the music off my ipone 4 to my mac book pro if they have different Apple IDs? Thanks!

What do you mean the PC won't let you transfer the music? Save your entire iTunes folder (this is assuming that you have all your music stored in your iTunes folder) to an external hard drive. Connect that hard drive to your Mac. Copy the iTunes folder to your computer. Hold down the option key while launching iTunes on your Mac. Select the library you just copied when it ask you to select which library you want to open.

    From your OLD computer...
Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..

An Added Bonus is that you will have a Backup of iTunes.

  • New gaming computer

So I'm Looking into getting a Brand new computer.
Now I strictly only do 2 things with this computer which will be Music and World of warcraft. I got my most recent computer 2 years ago and it don't allow me to play  World of warcraft on full graphic settings and it makes me very sad. Sadly it broke down From I have no idea. So what I'm asking more or less is What would be a good computer with a decent graphics card that will allow me to play World of warcraft and wont cost me and arm and a leg

Well, "Gaming", "Laptop" and "Cheap" don't mix, so you're going to have to settle for a desktop.  (You didn't specify laptop so I assume this isn't an issue.)
I would recommend a desktop with discrete NVidia graphics, a GT440 or above should do the trick.  (I use a GTX460 and it's great despite not being too high-end.)
*disclaimer* I am not now, nor have I ever been, an employee of Best Buy, Geek Squad, nor of any of their affiliate, parent, or subsidiary companies.

  • I need help on deciding a New gaming computer!

I need help on deciding which pc would be best for running valve games from bestbuy...I dont care whether a laptop or a pc i just want to play tf2 with smooth gameplay.  my price range is 1200 and less

For Team Fortress 2, the requirements to run it on Steam are:
    1.7 GHz Processor
    512 RAM
    DX8 Video card
    Recommended is
    3 GHz Processor
    1 Gig RAM
    DX9 Video Card
So, you could easily buy a desktop PC for around $400 to $500
    Here's some to look at:

I would recommend a desktop for gaming over a laptop because you'll have the ability to upgrade the video card down the road (all of these PC's have a PCI Express slot available) and more importantly, better heat dissipation (plus you can usually add additional case fans if necessary).  Plus, the cost is half that of a laptop.  But if you need it to be portable, then you'll have to look at the laptops, and if you do that, consider a laptop chiller to keep it cool.
Also, look at the AMD processor systems.  Most systems in the lower price range incorporate onboard graphic solutions.  Most games want either an ATI or Nvidia solution for 3D graphics, pixel shading, etc.  The Intel Graphics Solution won't run those games at all.  Also, I would avoid any mini-case desktop PCs (slimlines), because they tend to run hotter inside, some graphic cards will not fit inside them, and some have non-standard size components (such as the motherboard, power supply, etc.
IMHO - I would spend what is necessary to run the games you want at a comfortable margin and save the extra money for down the road upgrades or a replacement system when you encounter a game you really want to play that won't run on your system.
Hope the info helps.... Good luck with your purchase!

Personally I would hold off a few weeks and buy a copy of Mountain Lion for $19.99 and you will be able to install it on as many computers as you own, from all reports. This was the case with Lion. But not with the preloaded version shipped on the Macs themselves. That will let you be able to update all compatable Macs you own with the download.
    Cheers

  • I just purchase a new desktop computer (Lenovo) operation system window 7 and had and Kaspersky Anti-virus install, however it appear that it does work with firefox version 7. Any advise for me because I'm an strong user of Firefox browser.

Kaspersky URL advisor is incompatable with firefox 7.01
Kaspersky virtual keyboard is incompatable with firefox 7.01

You can turn off compatibility checking, but more and more of the Google Toolbar will not work. Google is no longer supporting the Google Toolbar so you should use the alternatives.
    Hi Mark,
    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Using_Google_Toolbar_features_without_toolbars
If you have an aspect that is not covered, indicate what that is; otherwise, expect you to be fully functional within 1-2 weeks.

  • TS4062 I purchased a new desktop, downloaded iTunes, & authorized the new computer in iTunes, but, I can't sync with the new computer because I get a message that says "sync will resume when Owner HP is on-line. That was the old computer.

I purchased a new desktop computer, downloaded iTunes, authorized the computer thru iTunes, but, unable to sync with iPad3. I get a message stating "sync will resume when OWNER HP in on-line. That was the old computer, which no longer has iTunes on it. What can I do?

You still have to make the new computer and the iTunes library the new syncing library. Did you transfer all of your content into iTunes yet or copy the iTunes library from the old PC to the new one?
If you no longer have the old computer and did not copy the iTunes library to the new one, read this user tip.
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141
If you did tranfer everything over, you probably have to set up WiFi syncing again in iTunes in order for the iPad WiFi settings to see your new computer.
