yes it is very easy...
first of all your phone have to be all paided off.
if your phone is all paid off you can call your carrier (have someone who speaks korean to call) tell them that your moving/visiting your country and you would like your phone to be unlocked. somehow they do this over the phone and it takes three - four days for them to do this.
its real easy.
if your phone is not paid off you can just tell them that your visiting your country and you would like to use your phone there.

Sorry but I've honestly got no idea on that ... I merely mentioned it beacuse it 'could' be a factor. Common sense suggests there wouldn't be any kind of duty payable to send it from the UK, as it was not manufactured there (its already an import). And similarly there ought not to be any kind of import tax at your end either as it's just going back where it came from. But when did common sense have anything to do with it ?
Tell you what though, postage will be the earth if your getting the full boxed set with all the manuals!

Educator's discount - Can I receive even though I'm in South Korea?

Hello! I'm a university professor in Seoul, South Korea and would like to get the English version of Captivate using the educator's discount. This educator's version is offered on the U.S. site. I don't know if they offer a similar discount for Korean educators since the Korean website is (obviously) in Korean, and I don't read Korean. Is it possible to get the educator discount using the U.S. site? I cannot use the Korean version of Captivate since I cannot read Korean.

Don't know if you are able to do this, but I would not purchase the software, considering the subscription plan they have available. You can subscribe and always have the latest updates for around 29.99 a month. I do this from Japan, and it works much better than laying out however many hundreds of dollars and having to constantly pay for the upgrades. I think they even have a yearly plan for 20 something dollars a month...even for the educators discount, the subscription likely works out cheaper.

If the phone that you purchased in China is unlocked, then yes, you will be able to use it, but if it is locked to a Chinese carrier, then no. If it is locked and you are travelling you will have to use the international roaming feature from your carrier.
If on the other hand you phone is unlocked, then you can use local sim cards in the phone, but you probably will not be able to get 4G reception, due to the frequency differences between countries. The phone will work, but possibly not on 4G everywhere and there will be nothing you can do about that. That is why different countries sell different models of iPhone to match their networks and why iPhone warranty is NOT international, but country specific.

I'm visiting South Korea for two weeks and I apparenty I can't get a skype international call-in number forthis country unless I have residence or a residence address there. Am I understanding this correctly?

Could you please check the exact version of Adobe Captivate installed on your computer (Go to Help > About Adobe Captivate) ?
Please make sure that it should be updated to 8.0.1.242 .
You can also try resetting the preferences of Adobe Captivate by renaming the Captivate 8.0 folder at C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Local\Adobe to Captivate 8.0old .
Note :- Adobe Captivate must be closed while renaming the folder.

In this case, what is the best option I can combine to purchase Skype products?I'll have my Sprint HTC Evo 4G brought to South Korea with unlimited data plan. 1. I can't buy Online Number for South Korea with my US credit card. How can I buy O.N. for South Korea? I'm a South Korea citizen living in NYC.

1. Why can't you purchase ON with US credit card? I can see your last payment was not finished, but did you get any errors?
2. Yes, calls to your Online Number in Skype are free for you. In Skype you don't pay for incoming calls.
3. For US we have for example Unlimited US subscription, which covers landline and mobiles both.
For South Korea we don't have unlimited subscription that would cover mobiles. Maximum is 400min per month(landlines and mobile). Unlimited South Korea covers only landlines.

Yesterday, when I started my laptop, it crashed while configuring the new Win7 service pack it installed in the last session. Now, I wanna visit some service center in South Korea but I dont know Korean.

Also note that warranty and support is only valid in the original country of purchase. So if you buy a phone in South Korea you will need to ship the phone to someone you know in South Korea to be taken in for evaluation. Apple do not accept or ship outside of the original country. The shipping will be at your expense.

My iPad 3G (AT&T) not working South Korea on trip

I arrived in South Korea for a two week business trip and unfortunately realized that my iPad would not connect to any service out here. I've looked high and low and I can't find any help on this. Further exasperating the situation is that South Korea is 13 hours ahead of the US East Coast so it makes it hard to call At&T for help as there help line is only available late at night here.
If anyone has any experience or any suggestions "besides call AT&T", please let me know. Its funny, but I have a full data plan from Verizon (DroidX) that works seamlessly out here. I love my iPad and my MacBoook, but would just like to see it work seamlessly like my Verizon network devices.

I've used iPad 3G in South Korea last Summer. You have to go to setting and make data roaming option available. Before you do that, you have to purchase international data plan though (I don't remember exactly but I think it was about $200 for one month with 250MB). I think it took some hours to activate your iPad. Once everything is done, your iPad should show you "KT" on top of your screen.
I hope this could revive your hope.
