Purchasing apple one to one with a refurbished macbook- how to purchase?

Was told in store that I could get one to one with a refurb, and nothing in t&c says you can't but the option to buy it doesn't appear?
What do I do?
Thanks

Unless you can give more information on the Mac , don't touch it.
We need all the info on the Mac. Hard Drive Size, the amount of ram the year of the machine etc etc.

  • Online Apple store question...Re: refurbished macbook

Sorry, I wasn't sure where else to post this.
I was looking at buying one of the refurbished macbooks from the online apple store and the other day saved it in my cart. I've noticed now that it's no longer on the website as an available item, but it is still saved on my account.
Does anyone know if I would still be able to purchase this? I would do so within the next day or two ... just waiting to see if I can resurrect my iBook first...
Also, I've read alot of the good accounts of buying refurbished items on these boards, but was wondering if anyone has had a BAD experience buying refurb'd mac products??

    Question 1:
I think the refurbished MacBooks tend to come and go in the online store. Sometimes they're there, sometimes they're not. I would recommend calling your local Apple Store and asking if they have any refurbished or "refreshed" MacBooks.
    Question 2:
I bought my MacBook used from a guy who bought it refurbished somewhere around May I think. It has the CPU whine, the squeaky hinge, the sizzling power brick, and the heatsink was replaced for the random shutdown issue.
That said, since this is a very early MacBook, there were a lot more unresolved issues when it was purchased. If you buy a refurb now, you'll probably be fine. As an example, my friend's refurb, purchased pretty recently, works great, and hasn't had any issues at all. I'm just posting this because you'll find a lot of posts on these boards about issues with early MacBooks (refurbs or not) like this. I think at least most of the MacBook problems have been worked out.
I'm probably going to call AppleCare tomorrow re: the hinge and power brick; in my experience they've been great about replacing parts, etc, and there are temporary fixes for the whine that make it tolerable. :P
I have not had a "BAD" experience at all whatsoever owning this MacBook. Yes, it has some issues, but I love my MacBook (and so does everyone I know), and the great feeling of finally owning a Mac (I've been saving for who knows how long!) makes up for the annoying whine, etc. I hope this post doesn't turn you off on a refurb.

  • HT4847 I have two iCloud accounts, one with 10GB and one with 20GB...how can I merge them into the 20GB plan?

I have two iCloud plans.  One with 10GB that backs up my 1Phone and iPad.  I also have a 20GB plan for my iMAC and MAC BookPro.  How can I merge them so that I only have one plan and one iCloud to manage?    My first instinct is to delete the one on my iPhone/iPad and add the iMac plan, but I don't want to do it without an expert opinion.

No, accounts cannot be merged.  Am I an expert?  I only know what I've read here numerous times regarding merging of plans - the answer is always emphatically NO.  Since this is a user-to-user forum (Apple doesn't participate here), you'll have to do some searching about on this topic and either accept or reject the "common" advice.

  • Apogee Duet One with the new MacBook Pro?

Can I still use my old Duet with the new Macbook Pro?  I know the Firewire 400 is gone.  is there a workaround?
    Thanks

You would need a FireWire 400-800 adapter, and (with the Retina Display model) a Thunderbolt-FireWire adapter.

  • Am I eligible for one to one with a refurbished Mac?

I bought a refurbished iMac online. Am I eligible for all support services like one on one or set up?

One-on-One is not a free service, and must be purchased at the same time you buy your Mac. Refurbished Macs do qualify, though:
    http://www.apple.com/retail/learn/one-to-one/terms.html
All other services provided by your local Apple Store are available to you.

  • I have just changed my computer as my old one died... but now cannot access my old itunes account so i have set up a new one with another email address. how can I sync my ipod to my new computer without wiping all my music ?

I have just tried to sync my ipod to a new computer as my old one died but as I cannot remember my previous log in I created a new itunes account. I now want to sync but it says it will wipe my music off my ipod. Does anyone know how I can do this now ?

If you have purchases on your iPod Shuffle that you want to sync back to iTunes, but are under the Apple ID you no longer have access to, you'll need to reset that account information. You can use this link to reset your password.
    https://iforgot.apple.com/
If that doesn' work or help, you'll need to contact iTunes support and have them walk you through the process of resetting the older account information.  Once you know the email and password again, you can authorize your new computer and transfer any purchases from this account back to iTunes.
For all non-iTunes purchased content, you'll need to the assistance of some sort of third party software that is not supported by Apple. See this older post from another forum member Zevoneer covering the different methods and software available to assist you with the task of copying content from your iPod back to your PC and into iTunes.

  • Am I the only one with a Perfect Macbook pro??

ok, so i had kernal panics, opted for a repair instead of a replacement. got it back three days after i sent it out. They replaced the logic board and its been rock solid ever since. I get no whine at any time, no matter how small. It constantly runs at about 95 degree F, my screen is bright and amazing, and BOTH speakers have clear, crisp sound. My battery runs at about 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 hours on everage, and it always wakes up from sleep, never shuts down randomly. I am so happy, best 2300 i've ever spent. I still constantly read about problems with wireless connections and faulty airport cards, mine work perfect. Is there anyone else out there that is completely 100% happy with their macbook pro. because i can't say enough grea tthings about mine.

Mine's nice too, although I've only been using it for four hours. I may have a different opinion later.
Even Windows works pretty well on it. It warms up faster than my 12" Powerbook (almost immediately) but keeps at that level a lot better (whereas my Powerbook occasionally spikes 10 or 15 degrees up and takes a long time to cool off).
Only problem I've had is a weird sleep thing which might be user error. I made another thread about it.

  • Should an Apple Remote be Included with a Refurb MacBook?

Last week, I purchased a refurb MacBook (FB061LL/B) for my mother-in-law from the Apple Store. The online description of the product and the manual both stated that the Apple Remote was included in the box. However, she couldn't find it despite a careful search. I called Apple Support and they told me that the Apple Remote is an accessory that is ordered separately and that we didn't specifically order it. From what I can tell, the Apple Remote used to be included in the box for the 2007 models like this one, but it is not included anymore. Is it unrealistic of me to expect that the remote should have been included in our order? I have to call Customer Care back on Monday.
    Thanks,
    David

    dwb,
Thanks for the reply. The online description for this refurb did mention the remote. I can't post a link to the description because this item isn't listed at the Apple Store anymore. Nevertheless, the specs listed for this model (MB061LL/B) on the Apple support site includes the remote:
    http://support.apple.com/specs/macbook/MacBookLate2007.html
Since you received the remotes with your refurb purchases, there must not be a specific policy to exclude the remote.

  • My apple id is connected with other apple id

my apple id is connected with my mom's apple id and our contacts got mixed
although we use tottaly diffrent apple id's! with two diffrent emails
how to solve this? I had to turn of my icloud for now
do I need to make here a new apple id?

    Hi Rawan S.
Thanks for your question.  Although you and your Mom have two different Apple ID's (email addresses), it sounds like you are using the same Apple ID for iCloud.   You should be able to go into the iCloud settings and sign out of the Apple ID account that isn't yours and then sign in with the Apple ID you want to use for iCloud.
Take a look at the information below and see if it applies to your situation.
Be sure to backup your iOS devices before making any significant changes:
iCloud: iCloud storage and backup overview
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12519?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
If you do need to delete the iCloud account on one of your devices so that you can add the correct Apple ID, you will be asked if you want to keep the information on your iPhone or iPad.  That may be a good idea initially.
Set up your Apple ID for iCloud and iTunes - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204053
    iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
When you first set up your device with iOS 5 or later, enter the Apple ID you want to use with iCloud. If you skipped the setup assistant, sign in to Settings > iCloud and enter the Apple ID you’d like to use with iCloud.
In Settings > iTunes and App Stores, sign in with the Apple ID you want to use for Store purchases. You might need to sign out first to change the Apple ID.
    iCloud: Change iCloud feature settings
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2613
In some cases when you turn off an iCloud feature on a device, you can choose to keep a copy of the feature’s information on that device.
Before turning off a particular feature on all your devices, or before turning off iCloud completely, you can archive a copy of your iCloud data on your computer. For more information, see the Apple Support article Archiving or making copies of your iCloud data.
Turn iCloud features on or off
Depending on which device’s settings you want to change, do one or more of the following:
On your iOS device: Go to Settings > iCloud, then tap to turn on or off iCloud features.
    Turn off iCloud completely
Depending on whether you want to stop using iCloud on all or only some devices, do one or more of the following:
On your iOS device: Go to Settings > iCloud, then at the bottom of the screen, tap Sign Out
Note:    If you sign out of iCloud (or delete your iCloud account), iCloud no longer backs up your iOS data. You can still back up your device in iTunes. For more information, open iTunes, then choose iTunes > Help.
On your Mac: Open iCloud preferences, then click Sign Out.
I hope this information helps ....

  • If my iPod Touch 5 battery is failing, can I pay Apple to send me a refurbished one before I send them the one with a failing battery? I don't want to go without my ITouch.

If my iPod Touch 5 battery is failing, can I pay Apple to send me a refurbished one before I send them the one with a failing battery? I don't want to go without my ITouch.  I really don't want to go without it but I dont want to have to purchase a new one.  The battery life is abysmal, and I am reluctant to upgrade my ios system to ios8 because all I ever see are complaints about upgrades killing the battery.  I am still on ios6.  When I upgraded my macbook pro (which is now DEAD) the battery got worse.
I am just sick of it.  I called apple about my itouch battery and the help was terrible.  All they were telling me to do was do a restart and UPGRADE TO THE LATEST IOS TO SEE IF THAT SOLVES THE BATTERY PROBLEM.  They would not even tell me what to do if that would not work.  Very rude.I kept asking and I finally had to find out myself through my own research that they cant replace the battery; instead they send you a refurbished ipod.  They never told me that on the phone and they kept giving me the run around when I kept asking them what I should do if the IOS upgrade did not work or made the battery worse.  Hopefully someone can answer my initial question.  Thanks guys.  I have a charger that I sometimes use plugged in to the ipod ( not all the time, I know that is bad for the battery)  and I thought my battery life should be better than it is because I sometimes use it on the charger  ( it should save the battery).

Not that I know of. You can do the exchange at an Apple store if they have refurbished ones in stock
