Purchasing/Downloading on WORK computer?

I have my Apple ID on my work computer (mac) iTunes. I have no problem playing DRM stuff (beause it's authorized).
But I can't seem to make a purchase on my Work computer. All the songs have little EMPTY DOTTED CIRCLES next to them.
I've double-checked that I am signed in (I am) and that the credit card, etc, info is 100% right (it is).
I seem to remember being able to do this before: purchase a song or album at work, on my Applple ID, and have it download here at work, AND when I get home.
Is this no longer possible?
Am I doing something wrong?
PS, my internet connection is in good shape, lol.
Any help woulde be appreciated.

Any ideas?

  • Where can I purchase/download Apple Works

I have installed several iMacs over the last few months and am running across users who use AppleWorks. They are wanting to continue using it specifically the draw portion.
Where can I purchase/download Apple Works?
Thanks in advance for your time!

You could try eBay and do a search for "AppleWorks" or "Apple Works" (some people put a "space" in the name). Hardcore Mac sells AppleWorks 6.2.4.

  • How to Download Purchased Audiobook from Work Computer

    Hey everyone!
I bought an audiobook on iTunes on my work computer, using my account. I would like to know how to download it on my ipod? My home computer is a MAC, but my work computer is a PC. When I plug my ipod into my work comuter it askes if i want to re-configure my ipod to window. I clicked ok, and nothing seemed to happen.
    Thanks a lot!!

If you want to use your iPod on Mac and Windows, it needs to be Restored on iTunes for Windows.
Mac can read Windows formatted disks but Windows cannot read Mac formatted disks.

  • Purchased app on work computer - how to sync an ap

i purchased an iphone app on itunes and downloaded it on my work computer. I went to sync it to my iphone, but then realized, i'd be overwriting all the stuff on my phone. My other apps, music, photos, movies are on my home computer.
Do i need to download the app to my home computer and sync from there? if so, how do i download an app i already purchased.

"Do i need to download the app to my home computer and sync from there? "
Yes. Iphone will sync to ONE computer at a time. If you sync to another, it will erase the current content from the iphone.

  • App download to work computer rather then home

I am working away from home (on a PC, unlike my Mac at home) and I needed access to an expensive app (£29.99). Downloaded iTunes onto the PC, plugged in my iPhone and bought the app. It was too large a file to download it straight to the iPhone but it hasn't now come up on the phone. I can't sync it (the only way I could think of getting it) or it'll delete all my other apps which I mostly need while away from the Mac... Any suggestions? Or will I have to but the app again when I'm back home? Thanks.

If you need to app now, there's no other option for a large app but to sync it from a computer (and you'll lose all your other apps, music, etc., if it's not the computer you normally sync with).
On the up side, you won't have to pay for the app again, as long as you're using the same iTunes Store account. Previously purchased apps can be redownloaded for free (you'll still see the Buy prompt first, though). See this:

  • Apple TV purchases download to my computer, which I don't want.

Shows I purchase on ATV I just want to watch on ATV, then delete.
I unchecked the "sync" box in the Device setup panel in iTunes, but get the scary warning that all existing TV shows on ATV will be erased...Not sure if that somehow means the ones I simply purchased on ATV and have never been on my MIni, and don't want to find out.
I then selected "sync one episode only" to minimize the hassle, but it's syncing all of them anyway.
Should be simple, but I can't stop the syncing!

by design, the appletv syncs any purchased content back to your itunes library, as your itunes library is the master location for all your content.
there is no way to stop it doing this other than removing the link to your itunes library on the appletv (thus disabling you to sync content in the other direction as well).
the appletv is not designed as a primary storage location, hence why it sync's purchased content back to itunes - this is by design.

  • Cloud isn't working on my Work Computer - Windows 7

I just updated iTunes to 11.3.1 on my work computer and after re-starting my computer and starting iTunes the cloud is not showing my previous purchases. I prefer to not download my purchases to my work computer. I normally listen to music directly from the cloud.
Am I doing something wrong? I've checked all my settings and nothing has changed. Last week I was able to listen direct from the cloud and now I can't.
    Anyone?
    Anyone?
    Bueller??
    Please help.

    Hi kingken2007,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like there is an issue seeing your iTunes in the Cloud content since updating iTunes. Take a look at the article below, it will help ensure iTunes is setup correctly and outlines some examples why you may not see previous purchases.

  • HT204406 I purchased music on my iPad (and it works fine).  It populated my purchased list on my home computer but will not download ?? when I access it in the iTunes store I can click on play but nothing happens-how do I get it to download on my computer

I purchased music on my iPad (and it works fine).  It populated my purchased list on my home computer but will not download (purchase is no longer a given option) ?? when I access it in the iTunes store I can click on play but nothing happens…how do I get it to download on my computer ?

If you connect your iPad to your computer's iTunes and do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases then it should copy over to your iTunes library. Depending upon what country that you are in you might also be able to redownload it on your computer's iTunes via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage.

  • Downloading purchased music on my computer at work

Can't get the downloads of previously purchased music, or get tracknames to download. Can access the music store, and could access another user's recommended list. I get error 1001, saying my request cannot be processed by the music store, try again. I use Windows 2000, and can get most internet sites.

You cannot download a track from the iTunes Music Store more than once, so if you downloaded a track at home, you'll have to copy it from that system (via CD, USB flash drive, etc.) to your computer at work.
Note that you will have to be able to connect your work computer to the iTMS to get it authorized to play your purchased tracks. Problems connecting to the iTMS usually stem from firewalls, proxy servers, or privacy filters blocking access, so make sure that any such systems in place allow connections to the following domains:
    phobos.apple.com
    phobos.apple.com.edgesuite.net
    Hope this helps.

  • I have an itunes account and have an extensive library -on a computer that is no longer working...want to open my account and download music I have purchased to a different computer...how??

Have an itunes account on a computer that is currently not working. Just installed itunes on a new laptop. Want to transfer music from near dead computer to my laptop. I can't access the 'home sharing' button on other computer - so is there a way to get my itunes music library on this computer?

It depends what not working means - if the hard drive is working and you can access it say in a USB caddy you might be able to find the media files and copy over to the new iTunes, but it may depend on how your user accounts are stored.
Alternatively for iTunes store purchases, on the new computer open itunes and go to the store Home Page.  On the far right under QuickLinks you should find a Purchased category - this will let you redownload content from the 'cloud' if available in your country.

  • I have more than 300 CDs I downloaded into my computer which went to my iTunes library and have purchased hundreds of songs through iTunes store and can no longer access these songs. How can I restore my music so I can play it?

I have more than 300 CDs that I have downloaded to my computer and have purchased hundreds of songs from the iTunes store on my Mac. I cannot play any of this music now. How can I restore my iTunes library? I can see the music files, but they will not play. The message I get is that the file cannot be found. I have stopped purchasing any music from iTunes, and will not do so in the future unless this can be resolved. Why buy music if in the future you can't play it? I have not connected my ipod to my computer for months because of concerns that my music will disappear from there too.

What you see in iTunes is not the music but a pointer to the file that contains the music.  Somehow these pointers have become broken. You may have accidentally deleted the file, or moved a folder, or moved a file, or renamed a folder, or renamed a file, or...  iTunes is very unforgiving of you doing things to the iTunes folder unless you have it set so iTunes does not manage your music for you (in which case you really need to know how iTunes works)
If all your links are broken, or a large number are, then there are various options, none of them easy (unless you're lucky).  One is when it asks you if you want to find the file that you say yes and then guide it to the file (which will probably be in a folder by artist, and then a folder by album name). Gets old fast if you have 300 CDs.  Another is to undo what may have caused the links to become broken, if you can remember what it was that you might have done such as renaming a folder.  Another is to just forget about your old library, ratings, and playlists, etc. and start afresh. Trash the library file in your iTunes folder, start iTunes with a blank library, then drag all your files to the new library.   Another is to restore itunes from a backup you may have made before this happened.
Do you keep just media on an external drive?  If you start iTunes without the external being switched on then it thinks the links are bad.  Quit iTunes and start the external before restarting iTunes.  You may have to scroll down through the tracks to "tickle" them into re-reading the link.
How do you have itunes set in preferences to manage your music?  Have you done any changes to preferences recently, or moving folders, files, etc?  Do you keep iTunes on an internal drive, or external?
In the many years of people complaining about broken links I don't think any way has been developed to mend them automatically.  I saw one attempt to use Spotlight, but it didn't really work.
None of us work for Apple so it's up to you if you won't buy from them until it is fixed. We will try to help you fix it, because we're nice.

    Hello
That Apple ID will work a user name and password to log into iTunes. You can always download any previous purchased by following the steps in the first aticle below.
    Download past purchases

  • I want to download my ipod nano on my home computer. It has been previously been downloaded on my work computer. Can this be done?

I had my library on my old work computer, that is no longer available. I want to download my library to my home computer. Can I simply hook my 3rd gen. Nano up to my home computer and download my library? Thank you in advance for your help!! Rick T

I guess that would be where my problem lies. I do not have a back-up copy anywhere, the only thing I have is my Nano. Am I screwed?
As I explained in the first response, you can transfer itunes purchases from the ipod to your computer.
You may be able to buy software that will allow you to get the other music, but this is not supported by Apple.
It is very important to always maintain a backup copy of computer (files/docs/pics/music/contact/calendars/etc).
    Hope all goes well.
