I plan on purchasing the iPad Air early Friday online and then making a 4 hour drive to pick it up at designated Apple store. Am I guaranteed that what I ordered will be available for pick up?

While the Apple site is not saying (I think they love the hype) other sites are reporting that you can pre-order your ipad air and pick it up on Nov.1st without waiting in line. I suggest you call the store you're going to and make sure, though you might get the 'we don't know' response as often happens.
Google it. You'll find some sites like the ones below. They indicate that pre-orders will be available to make as of 12:01 AM Cupertino time tonight. If you're on the Central Coast in CA, do you really have to drive that far to an Apple store?! Given Apple's a CA company, I thought there would be more available to you.

There isn't much else we can add beyond what jac522 has already mentioned -- quantities of the Glacier White PS4 bundle are limited, just like the Ghost and Limited editions. The best advice we can give would be to keep an eye on BestBuy.com for updates.

If you mean by using photo stream, you can but iCloud only keeps photo stream photos for 30 days. You will need to download them to your Mac during this 30 day window or they will no longer be available.
Or, just leave the photos in the camera roll on your iPad until you return, then import them to iPHoto on your Mac as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.

the site has all the info for eligibility and available items for purchase -- I think you can type in your school to see if on list of approved schools. I think the ID checking is rather benign. discounts are modest from what I recall.

I ordered a dell inspiron 14 7000 yesterday night, Order Number: {Removed per Forum Guidelines}. It originally said the item would be ready for in store pickup on Sunday March 9th. I didn't think items were delivered to stores on weekends. Is this not true? I just looked as if I was to order it today for in store pickup, and it said that it wouldn't be available until Thursday March 13. Did I meet a cutoff last night to have it Sunday? I really hope to receive m laptop this weekend.

You must have Verizon unlock the device from their service. In Brazil you will have to find a compatible provider and use their SIM in place of Verizon's SIM
