Purchasing Lightroom 3

I have downloaded the free trial version of Lightroom 3, and would like to purchase a license to continue using it. However, prices on the web vary widely, and I was wondering - how can I tell if a source is legitimate or not? I've seen prices like US$59, US$99 and US$199 for example. And is a downloadable version any different from a version on a CD or DVD which comes in a box? (Actually, as I have the trial version already installed, is it just a license key I now need - or do I need to reinstall?)

The best price I've seen is on Amazon (US$284), which is a CD box set (and a slight saving off adobe's $299 price tag). Any other advice about legitimate retailers of license keys would be appreciated.
I'm guessing the following site is selling pirate versions? Makes me wonder how they can be so brazen.

if you no longer need it on your old computer and have migrated any catalogs, deactivate it (help>deactivate) before uninstalling.

I previously had a Mac Book Air and just recently purchased a Mac Book Pro. I previously had Lightroom 5 on my Mac. I would like to have the purchased version running on my new Mac and not pay the monthly fee to use Lightroom. I have the product key in an email from when I purchased Lightroom. I also have the trial version of Lightroom installed on my computer but my trial version has expired. How do I validate the Product Key? Thank you!

If the trial version is not presenting you with an option to activate it then you might be best off just uninstalling it and reinstalling via the download link(s) below...

If you registered your Lightroom with Adobe after you installed it, you can log into your Adobe account and get your serial number from your account.

If you created a new Apple ID, you have to purchase the app again. If you can still use the old ID, then you can download it again for free by using that ID. But you will run the risk of locking yourself out of your new Apple ID for 90 days by downloading the app with your old ID and associating the iPad with the old ID.

Yes, a single serial number can be used to install on two computers and one can be a PC and one a Mac. The download will be a different installer for each platform but the serial number should activate both.

In the future if you have issues like this and you need to find your serial number for a non-creative cloud product,start by signing in to your Adobe account. On the Manage Accounts page that appears, all of your registered products and their serial numbers are listed in the Plans & Products section. Than LR should have brought in the RAW files as well. ACR is the RAW
processing engine used by LR under the covers so anything not supported by
ACR would not be supported by Lightroom.
Are you shooting RAW plus JPEG? By default, Lightroom will stack then
unless you tell it not to. Check to see if there is a small badge on the
preview that looks like two sheets of paper with a number. That is how
Lightroom indicates a stack. You can unstack them by clicking on the badge.
There is also a menu item to stack/unstack photos. Otherwise, I would have
to research but not sure why Lightroom would ignore the RAW photos but
still import the JPEGS.

you may as well install the later lr 5.7.1 rather than 5.6 and then updating.
