Purchasing music from Ipad within Itunes

I had purchased a song, downloaded it and then could not find in my Ipad. I went to download again and ended up having to buy the song again. I ended up connecting to my computer and downloading the song this way. Anyone know what I might have done wrong and / or what happened? Never had a problem with my Iphone when I purchased songs from my phone. Any advice is appreciated! Thank you.

Hello, I don't know if your problem still persists, however something similar happened to me recently.
I've bought a song directly from the iPad but, as soon as the download was over, just coldn't find it on the "Purchased" section of the iPad itself. I've complained with the iTunes store, they allowed me a second, free, download, but the result was the same: download ok, but not a clue of the song on tbe iPad.
What I actually did was to perform a sync with my laptop. Surprisingly enough the song was first transferred from the iPad to the laptop and then back to the iPad so that now it properly displays in the "Purchased" playlist of the iPad.
Hope this helps

  • Deleting purchased music from ipad

If I delete purchased music from ipad will it remain in iTunes Match given that I did not delete from iCloud?

Yes, the tracks will remain in the cloud. It is not possible to delete tracks from the cloud on an iOS device.

  • Can not download music from ipad's itunes store

can not download music from ipad's itunes store

  • Can't import purchased music from iPad to MacBook Pro's iTunes

I bought and downloaded classical music albums to my MacBook Pro's iTunes.  They have also apparently been automatically synced onto my iPad's iTunes.  Then I purchased and downloaded successfully four classical albums to iPad's iTunes.  But when I manually synced the iPad's iTunes with the Mac's iTunes, only one of the four paid albums was fully transferred so it can be played from the MacBook Pro's iTunes.  The other three albums only show notices in Mac Book Pro's iTunes that they are "purchased", but there are no digital files that can produce sound.  How can I get the digital music files of these purchased albums to be downloaded onto the MacBook Pro's iTunes so they can be played there?

Yes you can. Connect your iPad to your computer, open iTunes, select your device on the left side, right click on the name of your iPad and you can select transfer purchases.
You must authorize your computer as well in iTunes from the menu at the top under Store.

  • How to download pictures and music from Ipad (no Itunes)?

Hi.. a week ago someone broke into my home and they stoled stuff (inlcuding my macbook). The only photos I still have are in my Ipad.
How can I download these photos to another mac (not the ones taken with the camera, but the ones synced with my stolen macbook)?
Unfortunately, the available mac that my mom lended to me is from 2007 and the OS is less than 10.5, which is requirement for the latest Itunes (needed for my Ipad2).
So as you can see I am in trouble. Is there a way to download the pictures (and/or music) without using Itunes?
    please Help.!

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchased content.

For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software. Examples (check the web for others; this is not an exhaustive listing, nor do I have any idea if they are any good):

  • How do I get music from iPad to iTunes on new computer?

  • Is there a way to transfer already purchased music from bearshare to itunes

My dad wants to buy an iPod, but has already purchased a lot of music from Bearshare. Is there a way for him to transfer that music to iTunes? Or will he have to re-purchase that same music from iTunes?
    Thanks!

I would have to say that is not completely true. I have had music already riped to Microsoft Media and instead of doing it over again and saving to iTunes, I just copied the file through iTunes and saved. You have to click yes on save in different format but it does work. I will have to agree that the sound quality is lacking. I think possibly from the format change alone. Sometimes iTunes can't seem to get their built-in equalizer working properly. Hope it helps.

  • Can remove music from iPad via iTunes, but space remains consumed

    Hi,
I'm trying to remove music & photos from my iPad, so I can make space to backup my GoodNotes files. I have ~3gb free, but apparently this isn't enough. So, I managed to delete all of the music from my iPad via iTunes, and it is now completely removed off of my iPad. However, there is still ~3gb free. The space the music consumed is still not free and I don't know why.
Attached is a screen shot of the issue. As you can see, all of the music has been deleted, but the bottom bar still dedicates that amount of space to 'audio.' There are no songs in the music heading under 'On My Device' either. I managed to make it so that the bar showed 8gb of free space, but when I synced nothing changed and 3gb was still all that was free.
What do I do? I don't know if my GoodNotes files will remain intact if I restore my iPad.
    Thanks in advance.

iTunes no longer says my space is consumed by audio. I did a software update and now most of the space is in the 'other' section.
I usually try to back up GoodNotes to Google Drive, and no, there are no files in the file sharing area on iTunes. The issue with backing up the GoodNotes files is that it gets maybe 30 minutes into the process and then I get a message to say that there is no more space left to continue. Storage usage says GoodNotes consumes 3gb of space on its own, but I don't believe it is accurate.
I really don't know what to do, and these files are important for my university work, so I'm hesitant to risk losing them.

  • HT4914 transfer non itunes purchased music from Ipod to Itunes

I have an ipod nano 3rd generation with music content (CDs and Itune purchases) that was synced to an iTunes library on an old pc that crashed and was never recoverable.
I now have another pc with a new iTunes library and content different from that on the IPOD.
I would like to transfer the content of that old ipod to the library (in a nut shell I do not wish to take out all my cds and install them manually on the new PC to have their content available for iTunes.
I pod pages say you can only transfer music from an ipod to iTunes if that music was purchased from iTunes and not if it was from CDs.
Is there a way around this or do I really have to transfer my CDs one by one to the new Itunes
Not: I am willing to buy iTunes match if that helps...

  • Transferring purchased music from iPhone to iTunes

I purchased a song on my iPhone, but it doesn't want to transfer to my iTunes when I try to drag it. Transferring purchased songs from my iTunes to my iPhone is no problem, just not the other way around. Does anyone know how to do this? I have a 3G iPhone.

Do you have Sync Music selected under the Music tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes?
If so, this is automatic, or should be. With Sync Music selected under the Music tab, after purchasing a song with your iPhone the song will be copied to your iTunes library automatically the first time you sync your iPhone with iTunes after doing so. The same applies with 3rd party apps if you have Sync Apps selected under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.
Are you manually managing music and video with your iPhone with this selected under the Summary tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes? If so, after music is downloaded with your iPhone it will not be copied to your iTunes library automatically the first time you sync your iPhone with iTunes after doing so since you are manually managing music and video with your iPhone, which provides no benefit with an iPhone whatsoever compared to doing the same with an iPod since an iPhone doesn't support disk mode.
If you are manually managing music and video with your iPhone, music and video is not being transferred to your iPhone automatically - it is being done manually - hence the name of the option - "manually manage music and videos". If you choose to manually manage music and videos, then you've also chosen to manually transfer any music or video that was downloaded from the iTunes store with your iPhone from your iPhone to your iTunes library.

  • Transferring non-purchased music from Ipod to ITunes Library

Can I transfer my music from my Ipod into my ITunes Library I just created on my new laptop? I've been successful at transferring the Purchased Music, but not the music I've downloaded from my CD's into my the ITunes library on my old computer.

Hi .. we do this all the time..if its downloaded music put your music into a folder.. then use the drop down "file" menu and import the folder...its really easy..but you also have to create a path for your music..this is done via "edit" drop down /preferences/advanced.. and tell it where your music folder is... other wise your music wont play... if you are using your own cd,s its even easier just put cd in.. tick selected songs.. and import cd

  • Transferring non-purchased music from iphone to itunes

I've got an iphone with a lot of music I originally transferred from my CDs onto itunes then onto my iphone. My laptop with all my itunes and music on was reently stolen and I don't want to go through the pain of reloading all my CDs. I have managed to transfer purchases from my old account (which I shut down as a result of the theft), but cannot work out how to transfer the CD music from the iphone to the new computer and itunes. It keeps telling me I'm going to wipe the iphone. Any help?

You'll have to use third party software, as Apple makes no provision to do so:

  • I live in the u.s., but want to purchase music from the dutch itunes store. how do i do that?

I'm trying purchase music by a dutch artist, but it tells me my itunes id is only valid in the us store. Why? That's just so silly. I don't want to change stores permanently. I just want to buy music internationally.

Because whoever holds the copyright to the music in the USA hasn't granted Apple permission to sell it there. For a small artist or band, there may not be anyone who can do that.
