Purchasing---Self-service application
Purchasing super user contains forms based creation of requisition---create Po--receive goods---etc.
Can the above process be done through self service responsibilities. I have checked the "Internet Procurement" responsibility but it automatically directs to the find requisition page.
Thanks
Ninad

Seems like configuration problem at Siebel end.Check following points:-
1) Are you able to invokde SelfServiceTemplate rule web service from [SOAP UI|http://www.soapui.org/].
2) Recheck configuration details of custom object manager in siebel as mentioned in Self Service application developer guide.
3) Recheck Siebel web service url which you have given...

Is it possible to track Self Service Application Usage?
We have the need to measure who is doing what in our self service applications. An example would be who has logged into Manager Self Service over the last month, save this data and then begin to do a trend analysis on that data? Also could we also drill down into the responsibilities and do some reporting at the function level. I thought that we initially we could /modify the Audit seeded reports under sysadmin i.e. Signon Audit Responsibilities. They work but it appear they only work on Form driven responsibilities. Also i have looked into the Workflow tables but dont know if this is the direction we want to be going.
So any and all information that could point in the right direction it would be greatly appreaciated

Error: Create new Self-Service application with FPM
Hi,
I'm creating a new self-service application using FPM. I ran into this error when launching the application:
[email protected]385c385c
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
- juliusHi,
According to your error message, it can be caused by the search service application cannot set up a network share for every query component where the crawlers can dump their data.
For troubleshooting your issue, please make sure the Server service in Services.msc is started, and your account is a member of WSS_WPG group and WSS_WPG group has full control permission on C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office Servers\15.0\Data\Office
Server\Applications(if using default locations).

Table Names in R12 Self Service Applications
Hi All,
How does one find out the table / view name of a particular field in R12 Self Service (Web) applications ?
Is there anything similar to checking the "Record History" in Form based applications? This record history feature is now available in the latest 12.0.6 RUP.

PSS (Purchasing Self Service) - Requisitioner
Hi
Apologies, if this is in the wrong area, I'm new to the forums. My department has recent migrated to SAP for it's financials and a minor niggle has arisen from the people I support.
Whilst raising a shopping cart, in the "Default Settings for Items", under "Ship-To Address/Performance Location" there are a number of fields NAME, OTHER NAME, C/O, TELEPHONE NUMBER, FAX, EMAIL, BUILDING (and other ADDRESS FIELDS).
Our SAP Support have enabled us to set defaults (the fields are already populated) for the OTHER NAME (We've used it for our Company Name) and ADDRESS DETAILS. but the support team are adamant that defaults cannot be set for NAME, TELEPHONE NUMBER and EMAIL ADDRESS, resulting in the need for the people who raise 20+ orders a day to enter those same details every single time, leading to much frustration.
Can anyone advise if it is possible to set defaults for these (PER PERSON/LOGIN), or is the question too dependant on the exact install and customisation etc?
BHi,
You have posted your query in wrong section. I think you need to post a new thread in following section
SAP Community Network Forums » SAP Solutions » ERP Employee Self-Service
OR to get your query response quickly.

Question on self service application ... URGENT
gurus,
i have the following requirement :-
1. a vendor comes to site
2. he has not logged in yet
3. he registers himself on the site thru a portal form (the portal form is on the public page)
4. as part of the registration, he/she enters his name, address, e-mail id, the username and the password for the account
what i want is, to grab the information from the table (the form is based of the custom databse table) and create a PORTAL USER with the username and password entered by the vendor when he registerd himself. AND i want to e-mail the vendor notifying that his account has been created.
how would i do this in portal ?
is there anyway i could create a user from behind the scenes and e-mail it to the vendor ?
any help would be appreciated.
thanx

nullThis topic should help for creating the user programitcally: http://technet.oracle.com:89/ubb/Forum83/HTML/000146.html
I don't know about the email too much. I know that there is an SMTP package with iAS. I haven't used it and only briefly glanced at it on technet. Here's the link on it: http://technet.oracle.com/products/emailserver/listing.htm
But maybe someone else will know more about the email. -

nullYou should be able to do this via the API. Your best bet is to repeat the question on the Oracle9iAS Portal Security and Login Server forum.

Date Formats in Oracle Applications Forms and Oracle Self Service
Can someone tell me what determines the Date format that appears on Oracle Applications Forms and Oracle Self Service ?
*1.* In Oracle HRMS,all dates i see on the Forms are of the Format "MM/DD/YYYY" but my NLS Parameters are not in this format .I'm giving the results for the NLS parameters below.I thought the date formats are determined by the NLS format. Is there something else that determines the date format appearing on Oracle Applications Forms ?
NLS_DATABASE_PARAMETERS
NLS_DATE_FORMAT :DD-MON-RR
NLS_DATE_LANGUAGE :AMERICAN
NLS_LANGUAGE :AMERICAN
NLS_TERRITORY :AMERICA
NLS_INSTANCE_PARAMETERS
NLS_DATE_FORMAT :DD-MON-RR
NLS_DATE_LANGUAGE :
NLS_LANGUAGE :american
NLS_TERRITORY :america
NLS_SESSION_PARAMETERS
NLS_DATE_FORMAT :DD-MON-RR
NLS_DATE_LANGUAGE :
NLS_LANGUAGE :american
NLS_TERRITORY :america
*2* What about the profile option : ICX_DATE_FORMAT_MASK ? Does it determine the Date Format for Self Service alone or does it impact the date format appearing on Oracle Applications Forms and the actual database also ?
*3* If I use a to_date function in ,say, a pl/sql function that i code for some custom requirements, what will be the output of the date format ? Does it take the format given in NLS paramaters or is it determined by anything else?
Thanks in advance...Hi,
Thanks for your reply ,but I'm still confused ..
Here are the profile options I'm seeing for one of my instance :
ICX: Date format mask - 12/31/1999
ICX: Date language - American English
ICX: Language - American English
ICX: NLS Sort - BINARY
ICX: Territory - United States
ICX: Numeric characters - NULL
NLS parameters are given in my original email.
In Self Service applications(OAF) ,the date format is appearing in "mm/dd/yyyy" format but when i login to Forms based applications ,I see the date format as "dd-mon-yyyy".What determines this date format ?
How can i make the date format to always return one format everywhere ,be it Self Service (OAF) or Oracle Forms ?
I'm getting date format related errors for my code because of default date formats changing intermittently when i log into Self Service.I want to know if there is anyway to prevent this from happening?
Thanks in advance. -
Sieble Self Service on Other J2EE Application Server like JBoss
Hi All,
I am new to Siebel and Self Service. I just want to know If I can deploy Sieble Self Service Application on JBoss or on any other OpenSource Application Server. My client do want not to buy Oracle Application Server. Any help on this would be higly appriciated.
I have another question: How can I develop my own portlet and integrate into Siebel Self Service. Do we have any APIs or specification or any information so that I can start wrting my portlets for Siebel Self Service.
Thanks in advance
Ram Sharma
Edited by: user9353619 on 18-Mar-2010 02:18As far as supported platform is asked, you shoud refer to the latest version of the Siebel System Requirements and Supported Platforms for Self-Service Applications aka SRSP .Here is the section http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11886_01/V8/CORE/SRSP_811_SSA/SRSP_81_Supported_Plats7.html#wp1018023 and the only supported platform seems Oracle Application Server 10.1.3.3.
Not sure if the server is not part of the overall licence package, worth checking with your Sales Rep.

Online Help for Oracle HRMS Self Service System
I am looking into developing context-sensitive online help for an Oracle HRMS Self Service application. There is currently no online help for the application; all help is provided in printed and online docs, so users are having trouble navigating to the info they need. Help is needed! My initial questions are:
Would I need to create OHJ or OHW?
Could I use RoboHelp to develop the content?
Is there a reference document you can point me to?
Thanks
BelindaHi Belinda,
You would create Oracle Help, and then deploy it using OHJ or OHW.
The format of the help is the same. There is nothing specific that needs to be done for one or the other. If your system i s a Web application, you would use OHW and otherwise, you would use OHJ.
You can read more about Oracle Help on OTN at http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/java/help/index.html.
(Read the FAQ for more information about the choice between OHJ and OHW.)
Personally, I would not recommend RoboHelp to create Oracle Help. RoboHelp has a lot of nice features, but the Oracle Help output feature is fairly buggy, especially if you are creating a large helpset, or a helpset that has subhelpsets.
At Oracle, a lot of help development is done using DreamWeaver and an in-house build tool, called the Oracle Help Build Tool. This is available for free. Send me a mail ([email protected]) if you want a copy.

Self Service in Different Language
Hi All,
We have a requirement in which we want to display the Self Services application in a different Language other than english.
(The default language setting for all users is English and we dont want to chenge it.)
I noticed that if we chenge the Language in user parameters in the backend then the portal is rendered in a different language.
However, we want to know if there is any other way to achieve this.
Also, is there any way we can provide the users with an option to toggle between English and the Other Language.
Please share your views.
Regards,
MayankHi,
Is there any way by which we can give the users the functionality to toggle between english and the other Language.
