Purchasing songs from other countries.

Is it possible to buy songs from another country, in this case from the japanese itunes site? I'd like to use my own itunes profile. I just think that its lame that you can only purchase songs from your own country. Whats the point of having itunes then?

Unless you can show some form of residency you cannot buy from another country's store. The question on cross store purchasing is asked frequently so I'll just quote the most complete answer (courtesy of Dave Sawyer) from the many given:
In order to buy from any given country's iTunes Music Store, you must have either:
a) a credit card with a billing address in that country, or
b) a mailing address in that country and a gift certificate or a prepaid card that was bought in that country.
If you cannot fulfill one of these two sets of conditions, you will not be able to purchase from any given country's iTMS.
.......this is due to restrictions placed on Apple by the record companies and other rights holders (who are often completely different from country to country and so all require their own individual negotiations and contracts), not by Apple's choice. And this also applies to all the legal download stores that carry major-label content, not just the iTMS.

  • HT3951 Why can't I purchase songs from other countries?

I am currently residing in Singapore, however there are artists releasing songs from the US and I can't seems to purchase them as my account is only limited to local purchases. What can I do about it??
    Please assist.
    Thank you,
    Jason

Why? Licensing from the media companies.  If an agreement hasn't been set up then Apple cannot sell the media.  You can probably bet that if Apple can sell something they will because they are probably very happy to take your money.
You can see if another vendor in your country does sell the item.

  • Songs from other countries' iTunes stores

Why are songs from other countries' iTunes stores not available for purchasing in the American iTunes store? I found a song that I had been looking for in the French iTunes store, but could not buy it. I was annoyed. Is there any way around it?

In order to buy from a certain country's iTMS, you do need
either: a CC with a billing address in that country
or: an address in that country plus a prepaid card/gift voucher issued by iTMS in that country.
If you don't meet one of this conditions, there is no solution for you.
-sorry but the copyright holders wanted it that way; it's their decision to offer a certain track in a certain country or not to offer it.
Tip; This question on how to buy from another country is asked several times a week in the forums. In the future, I would suggest you do a search on your issue to see, if it has already been answered, that way you don't have to wait quite a long time for a response.

How can I purchase songs from other country?

  • Itunes wont download songs from other countries

i would like to download songs from different countries but says "itunes could not connect to the music store an unknown error occured (-3237)" so if can help me please do.

    Goku...
Unfortunately each Country has their own approved music, or even movies for the matter, that should not be circumvented.
Sure your not attempting to steal anything but there is something else to consider. Illegal possession may be considered "Contraband" in your Country so lets not go there. Please!

  • Ho do I get latest news about songs from other countries?

I am located in North America, that's why I think my itunes store just give me the latest news about music from North America, but I want to download some songs from other counties too.
Such as Japan/ Taiwan, is there a way to set my itunes store to show the latest musicfrom other eastern counties? thx!!

You can look at other stores, but you will not be able to purchase tracks from any iTunes Store other than the Canadian store. The content owners will not allow cross-border sales.
    Regards.

  • Purchasing songs from other Itunes Stores

The selection of International music at the US Itunes Store is very limited, to put it politely.
While I can access, view, and listen to, all songs that are available at overseas Itune Stores, (such as Itunes in France); I cannot purchase them even though their price is shown in US currency (99 cents) and not in Euros.
Does anyone know how to purchase and download songs from these other Itune stores, or to contact a real live person at Itunes for help in doing so?

  • Purchasing items from other countries?

is there any way to purchase something from an itunes store in another country?

The other huge hang up is copyright holders do not like cross-border sales. They can't stop you from ordering a CD as an import or going to another country & buying the CD, but they can & do most certainly stop cross-border sales on the web.
It's not so much that labels dislike cross-border sales - that just adds some complications when calculating album & publishing royalties but it's expected.
Moreso it has to do with the simple fact of national economies and people's disposable income, to give them an incentive to buy in the home market as opposed to abroad.
Japan is well known for this. The cost of a CD relative to a person's disposable income is pretty high. So to dissuade the consumer there from buying the US version of a record (which is considerably less expensive) in the US market, the label's local office will typically add two to three bonus tracks to the release to essentially make it "worth their while" to buy in the home market, justifying the increased cost.
Other markets, like the UK (where the pound-sterling has historically been stronger than the dollar) also do this, but to a lesser degree than Japan. Again, it is to motivate the consumer to contribute to their economy rather than abroad.
I believe it's the same economic theory when it comes to the digital marketplace (with or without the bonus tracks), but I'll ask a couple of our B.A. VP's here to make sure.

  • Purchase songs from other international iTunes stores?

I know you can switch back and forth between international stores but can you purchase from the international stores?
I've got as far as 'billing address' but it asks me where my billing address is, I say, "U.S." and it reverts me back to the U.S. iTunes store, does this mean i cannot purchase from international iTunes stores? Do I need to set up another account? I'm a bit confused and afraid to say 'yes' to things that my get charged that I don't want charged..
    your help is greatly appreciated.

The way I understand it, you need a valid adress in a country whose iTS you want to use. Likewise, Europeans cannot use the American Store, which has a lot of things we don't have.
So, unless you know someone with a valid adress in one of these countries, I'm afraid you're out of luck.
    Hope this helps.

  • 30 GB Video iPOD won't sync purchased songs from iTUNES.

Previously, on the same computer, I have synced purchased songs from my Itunes library to my iPOD. Now, suddenly, an error message says that I'm not authorized to do so. I use my computer in two countries, the US and Taiwan, and wonder if this has anything to do with the problem. I've already restored the Ipod and reloaded all the songs. The purchased songs still appear in my library but will not sync.

Have you tried Deauthorizing then Authorizing your computer through the Store menu in iTunes?

  • Does Anyone Know How to Buy from Other Countries' iTunes

Hey, I was just wondering if anyone knows how to buy from other countries' iTunes, because I live in the US and have a US credit card, but alot of the songs I want only seem to be available on the French site.
Does anyone know if theres some sort of way around this? Would it be possible to, say, buy French iTunes gift cards?

No, you cannot due to Licensing and copyright issues, which vary from country to country. Unless you have a billing adress in France, you will not be able to purchase from the French iTunes store. Having a gift card from there will not help, because you need to also have a French Billing adress. Sorry,
    Rachyl

Can I get to my purchased songs from another computer????

As King Penguin alluded to earlier:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519 - enabled with iTunes 10.3 and newer; not available in all countries; apps, books (not audiobooks), music, t.v. shows, and movies (some - not all studios have permitted this). Movies currently available in the USA only. Downloading previously purchased movies and TV shows requires iTunes 10.6 or later.  Discontinued items not available. For items not included in the iCloud list (e.g., ringtones), or locations or computer systems where iCloud is not (yet?) available, you only get one download per fee paid.  Apple notes it is your responsibility to back up your purchases.
Select the store on the left side of iTunes.
Click on Purchased on the right side under Quick Links.
You can re-download your available previous purchases.

  • HT201272 I purchased songs from iTunes Radio on my iPhone, but now the only place they will show up is in the iTunes Store app on my phone, even after syncing to my computer a million times, the songs do not show up in my library or anywhere else.

I purchased songs from iTunes Radio on my iPhone, but now the only place they will show up is in the iTunes Store app on my phone, even after syncing to my computer a million times, the songs do not show up in my library or anywhere else. My phone is not syncing properly, I wanted to add another playlist to it that I created on my Mac. I pluged in my phone and made sure the playlist I wanted to add was checked to be on my phone when I synced.
The playlist I wanted to add was "Country." It is clearly checked. I also wanted to add the "Recently Added" playlist, which I also checked before sycing. Currently, my phone only has the "Purchased" playlist and my "All Songs" playlist on it. When I hit sync, iTunes added another playlist automatically added another playlist to the list above and checked it. It was titled "ALL SONGS 1" and had ten fewer songs in it than the playlist I had created, "ALL SONGS" had. This playlist, however does not show up on my phone after syncing, nor does "Country" or "Recently Added." (Every time I sync, another playlist is created as "ALL SONGS 2, 3, 4, etc.") One of the songs (I have not, yet checked the other songs) that I purchased from within iTunes Radio shows up in the "ALL SONGS 1" on this screen:
But does not show up anywhere else. This playlist does not show up anywhere but the two screens above. The ALL SONGS 1 or 2 playlists do not show up here:
When I search for those song in my library, it shows that I do not have them:
But if I go to the iTunes store, I get the play button and not the price of the song:
This is what things look like from my phone's side of things:
"Summertime Sadness," one of the songs I bought from iTunes Radio, does not show up in the iTunes store under purchased "All" or "Not on This iPhone"
But, it does show up under "Recent Purchases"
Also, this is what playlists are on my phone after syncing a million times:
Only what was on there before I started any of this. "Summertime Sadness" and the other songs I bought from inside iTunes Radio, do not show up in either of these playlists. Please, help me.
