Purple Hyperlinks are Not in My Stylesheet!

Hi, all,
I've inherited a project, and I'm trying to clean it up so
the format and styles match my other projects. I'm using the same
stylesheet for all of my projects, but for some reason, this
project won't obey the hyperlink style in the stylesheet--every
time I create a hyperlink, it colors the font purple.
I've tried re-copying the style sheet in from another project
where it works correctly, and even creating a new style sheet. I've
opened the .css file in Notepad and searched for both the color
name and the numerical code for purple--the only place it's there
is in another style where I
do what purple. I tried deleting that style, on the off
chance it was reading that one in stead of the standard hyperlink
style, but nope.
Given all the above tinkering, I'm fairly sure the problem
isn't actually with the style sheet at all. The project
seems to be doing something globally to
all hyperlinks, no matter what other styles are applied, and
no matter what style sheet I use. Can anyone help me figure this
out?

Radbean:
If your style sheet doesn't specifically have settings for
link and visited (and you don't have any in the topic itself), your
browser will use its own default (which for visited in IE is
purple),
a: settings in the style sheet should follow the LoVHAte
ordering principle:
L(ink)
o
V(isited)
H(over)
A(ctive)

  • My buttons with hyperlinks are not browser compatible

Hi, I've created an InDesign document that has simple buttons with hyperlinks and rollover stage. I have saved the document as an interactive pdf and uploaded to the site, when checking for browser compatibility, the hyperlinks are not working on Firefox 19.0.
Does any one know how to fix this problem?

I just found the answer in the following thread
    Hyperlink reuse
go to the New Hyperlink button at the
bottom of the panel or to the submenu in Hyperlinks, I can go to Shared
    Destination and...it DOES work. Thanks.
Follow-up question: do I need to make all of the hyperlinks I create with
Shared Destination or only those that will more than likely reappear in the
    document?

  • CS3 Hyperlinks are not opening properly

Hyperlinks that have I created to some "File" URLs are not opening in a browser with a computer (Acrobat 7.0), while working on others (Acrobat 8.0). The Acrobat 7.0 computer, opens a browser window that goes to the default home page.  I am at a loss as to what it can be.
Any known bugs for opening the links properly with 7.0?  Or could I be missing a setting somewhere, either with the IE browser or 7.0?
    Thanks,
    Jo

  • My Hyperlinks are not working

When I insert a hyperlink in iWeb it functionates perfectly in iWeb.
But when I publish it (Local folder) and than visit it via my browser, some links are not working.
Maybe good to know; the links are only between my own pages. And the site is not really online yet, just in a Local Folder...
Only one of the links is not working, because when I click on another link, I get this:
    file:///Users/timothydeleeuw/AsiaHolland/Websites/vd%20Watering/Watering_Fr/Bien venue.html
But on the not functioning link, I get this:
    http://Watering_NL/Welkom.html
    In the adressbar off course.
    Thank you for your help!

My site is not online yet, that's why the link doesn't work, I saved it Locally.
I wanted to point out the differnce between the first and second link. In the first link it goes to a folder of my mac, and the second one is trying to get to a site that doesn't exsist. But in iWeb, I did exactly the same...
    Some weird stuff going on...
thanks any way for your reply.

  • Hyperlinks are not functioning after publishing

I am running iWeb 3.0.4 and am publishing to my host site through GoDaddy.com. The hyperlinks work fine in iWeb itself, but after I publish the site and then go to the site to check it, some hyperlinks work, but most don't. It appears to be very random which hyperlinks are working and which are not. After Enabling hyperlinks in iWeb and checking the box Make hyperlinks active, I am choosing to Link to > One of my pages. All seems to be in order but again, after publishing the site, only some hyperlinks work but most do not. I have tried modifying little things in iWeb to see if it will help upon publishing - over and over and over again - but to no avail. I cannot stress how irritating this problem is, not getting the site to work after publishing!!! UGH!
I've seen other posts regarding this issue and still have not found an applicable solution or at least one that is fixing my problem. Any other suggestions? Thank you.

Thank you guys so much - specifically Old Toad, Cyclosaurus and Roddy - for helping me figure out what's wrong with my iWeb site! Just these little things you guys are suggesting are helping me slowly fix these subtle problems. I don't understand why these things that you guys are suggesting aren't explained somewhere in iWeb.
Because of your help I have been able to most of the hyperlinks to work now, but still not all of them. Still seems like I have to do some tweeking and moving around some of the text. I can't believe how inaccurate and inefficient iWeb is!
Anyway, Cyclosaurus - is there any way to shrink the size of the Canvas element so that I don't have to keep adjusting the text just to get the hyperlinks to work?
    Thanks again!!

  • All hyperlinks are not working when published

All of the links work on iweb 09; however, when published some of the links are not working. To get an idea of what I mean you can go to the site, thinkwhatif.org and see it. Would someone be able to provide an answer how to solve it? I have unlinked and relinked too and that didn't work (at least the one time I did it).
Thanks in advance for helping me figure it out.

    Bonjour,
It's a layout issue. Two of your buttons (who or what) are in the navigation part of your page (nav_layer), which is back layer of your page. In your page, the content (body_layer) overlays the bottom of this layer (nav_layer) where the buttons are.
Show layout (iWeb > View > Show layout) and replace the buttons in the content. As you can see , you 've got also a empty textbox in the content

  • Hyperlinks Are Not Functioning Correctly

I have a problem with the some of the hyperlinks in my
WebHelp Pro project not functioning correctly once the project is
compiled. What happens is that when I click on a hyperlink the text
doesn't change from blue to purple. Not all the hyperlinks on a
page are affected; some may work while others do not.
When I look at the HTML code, I see two different things
happening, and both things may not occur in the same code:
    1) In some documents the code reads "a visited=0000ff." The
    value should be 800080.
    2) In other documents "font color=blue" is being added to the
HTML code for a particular hyperlink. Other hyperlink code in the
    same document may be unaffected.
I have checked the font color in the editor to make sure it
was set to "automatic" before I created the hyperlink. I removed
the hyperlinks altogether, recompiled, then opened the document
back up and recreated the hyperlinks. The problem still exists.
Every document in my project is using the default.css style sheet.
I use the same paragraph style throughout the project, both on the
links that work correctly and those that do not.
Has anyone ever experienced this problem? And if so, do you
know the fix? I could manually edit the HTML code before publishing
my project, but that is just a bandaid fix.

The hyperlink color is controlled by the style sheet. I edit
my style sheets in a text editor. Make sure you clear your browser
history before testing the color changes.
FWIW, I like my links to stay blue--I usually have the color
change to purple in hover just to indicate that what is moused is
    indeed a viable link.

  • HTML5 SharePoint Publishing - Hyperlinks are not highlighted

    Hi,
I am publishing few topics in SharePoint (2010) using RoboHelp 10. The topic has few links to other topics.
After publishing, I find that couple of links are in blue text (and underlined) by default. But few links are  turning into blue (and underlined) only when the cursor is placed.
Do we have any properties setup Or any stylesheet changes needed to display all the hyperlinks in blue text?
Note : When the same project is published to a local folder, all links are displayed in blue text and underlined.
    Thanks,
    Nandha

  • Hyperlinks are not working when I convert MS PPT with notes to PDF

I am using MS Powerpoint 2010 and have some hyperlinks throughout the presentation.
When I Save as "PDF" and select the options "Notes pages" and open up the PDF, I see the slide and then the notes on the bottom of the page but the hyperlinks within the slide don't work.
I am using Adobe Reader 10.1.4

Do the links work if you save the actual PPT? In my version of PPT and Acrobat, there is no option to select notes in the Save As PDF item. However, the Save As PDF or XPS does provide the notes as an option. However, this latter approach is the MS conversion and not the Acrobat version. I suspect that MS decided there was no need to embed the links for Notes.
If you have the Acrobat option, then it will appear as just PDF in the Save As menu and you would also have an Acrobat menu in PPT that has a create PDF button. I am not on my AA XI machine and cannot check, but I don't think that Acrobat provides the notes out put unless you print to the Adobe PDF printer. In the print case you would not get the links. So check just how you are creating the PDF and be sure whether you are using the MS option or the Acrobat option.

  • I'm using Windows XP. outlook Express hyperlinks are not working. Might Firefox be blocking the hyperlinks?

I've tried the "FIX IT" on the Microsoft website but it did not fix it. I've been in touch with my anti virus software company who assure me that their product cannot block hyperlinks. I've gone into windows folder options/ file types to check settings but they seem OK. I'm now wondering if a seting in Firefox could block the hyperlinks.

    Hi,
Many thanks to those who took the time to reply. I use Firefox as my default browser to search the internet. I use Outlook Express to download my emails. Some emails have hyperlinks. When I place the cursor over a hyperlink a (very long) web address appears at the bottom of the window but clicking on the link does nothing. I have searched the internet for possible solutions. One was that the problem was caused by my anti virus software blocking the hyperlink. My anti virus software provider excluded this. Another related to a possible problem in windows XP control panel/folder options/file types. I checked this and all was OK. A website suggested that my browser may be causing the problem. Firefox itself is my default browser and is working OK. My question is "can a setting (or something else) in Firefox block the hyperlinks in Outlook Express from working''. The problem occurs in Outlook Express but the hyperlinks have to work via Firefox to open the links which are web pages (accessed via Firefox)..

It's a toplink to a page item on the same page internal (hyperlink) that is not working.
