Purple LED flashing every minute
I cannot find the source of this Purple LED that flashes every minute. It even flashes when in Bedside Mode.
I have looked through all Apps in Settings >> Notifications.
I had an App called 'Power Tools' installed. This allows for the changing of LED colours, but I never implemented the app, and did check all possible LED changes in the App, but none were set. I have since removed the App, but the LED continues to blink every minute.
Can anyone give an idea of where to look for possible sources of this blinking LED?
Thanks very much !

Shouldn't I be able to see CPU activity when the LED fires off?
Probably not, the LED uses very very CPU and battery. You know how those little cheap LED lights you buy at cash register checkout counters can last for years....?
I don't see the app that might causing it.
Look in your App World > My World > Apps ? Installed.
Anything like BeBuzz, Hub++ or something in there?

Solid amber flashes green once about every minute + even more problems
I have a problem with my airport express:
-Even after doing a factory reset my airport express has an solid amber light wich flashes green once about every minute.
- Sometimes the LED light even goes off for a couple of seconds.
- I can't find the airport express in the airport express utility, even when I directly connect a LAN cable it won't find it.
- I also can't find the airport express wirelessly.
Please help me fixing this airport express.Lauren, welcome to the discussions!
Unfortunately, the symptoms you are describing likely indicate that your Express has an internal problem and may need to be replaced.
If you have not already done so, try a Factory Default Reset to see if that might help.
Power down the Express and wait a few minutes.
Then hold in the reset button and keep holding it in as you plug the device back in to power
Keep holding the reset button until you see the amber light begin to blink more quickly. This normally takes about 5-10 seconds
See if that helps. If no luck, I'm afraid the Express has failed and will need to be replaced. -
Power LED flashes, firmware updates good, and can still access the router
I have a wrt54G first version as there is no version number. About two months ago, the power led started dropping out and with a reset worked for a day or so, then, it became worse, every hour, and now only a couple of minutes. according to the help side of this site, the router will not be accessible, but it is. I upgraded to the 4.7.1.1 firmware, the problem continues, un plug and start it up. Any ideas? Could it be the 12 volt power supply going bad or over shooting the power?
yes, that is the level, verified at the router. the help side of this site says that if the led flashes like this that it would be corrupt an un accessible, but a restart of the router stops it, and it is accessible, moreover, the upgrade fails since that is the level at the router. just that it is happening about every 15 minutes (8/3) - could it be that comcast is sending packets of ??? to blow out routers? Thee state they don't like people using routers - that you are not supposed to use more than one computer with their broad band connection. Yes - serious, the e have said this twice in the last 6 months. Don't know what it could be, Saturday - Sunday it has not dropped out at all

Disk access LED flashing regularly
Hi,
I have a recent (<2 months) installation of the latest Arch Linux on an AMD64 computer and I have noticed that the HDD access LED flashes shortly every 2-3 secs. My partitions are formatted in Ext4 and this flashing occurs even when I am just in the console and not using the machine.
Is this normal or should I start worrying about rootkits etc?
My thanks in advance.neok wrote:

My thanks for the replies, I tried iotop and enabling block-dump but both will not work, I think its because I am using a custom compiled kernel and I don' have accounting enabled, apparently. But I will be looking into this soon, perhaps rebooting with the Arch kernel. -

SRP547W dropping ADSL every minute
We installed one of these devices as our gateway a couple of weeks ago, flashed the firmware to 1.2.4(003) and it worked perfectly until this morning where it keeps resetting the ADSL every minute and losing the web interface to the unit.
The log endlessly reports this:

Led flash alerts not working in iOS 5
I have turned on led flash notification on and nothing happens when I get phone calls, text, e-mail etc. I have turned off the led setting and then turned it off the phone. I then restarted it and turned the setting back on and nothing happens. The light never goes off. I checked the light and it works fine. Any ideas on how to fix this?
For Everybody Who's Having Issues With The LED FLASHING ALERT On The iPhone 4S, I May Have Promising News For You.
I Just Spent The Last Hour Or So With An Apple Support Tech, Who Then Forwarded Me To A Senior Support Person. I E-Mailed Her This Link So That She Could Research This Issue.
Long Story Short, We Eventually Went Into The Settings - General - Reset - & Reset All Settings. 3 Minutes Later Tops, I Went Back Into The Settings - General - Accessibility, & Then Turned The LED FLASH FOR ALERTS Option ON. Tested It, & IT WORKED!!!!!!!!
Tested It A Couple of More Times & It Still Works!
I WANT TO THANK THE INCREDIBLY PATIENT APPLE SUPPORT STAFF, FOR AN AWESOME JOB!!!!
The Senior Support Tech Also Requested That I Relay To All Apple Product User That Their Techs Do NOT Monitor Their Support Discussions. Tecra 9000 - LED flashes and cannot boot
I was recently given an old Tecra 9000 laptop. Unfortunately, it did not have a HDD (it was removed and trashed by the previous owner).
I have bought a couple of HDDs that I thought should work in this machine, but all that seems to happen is the power light flashes seven times, pauses, then flashes once (and then repeats this.
I assume this is an error code of some kind.
The drives I have tried are a MK4025GAS and a MK4026GAX. The result is the same on both.
Can someone advise as to what this error means, or even tell me the part number of a drive that will work with this machine?
Many thanks.Hi Guy
One question; did you try to power up the notebook without inserting the HDD?
Usually if the notebook is ok it should be possible to start the notebook. Of course the notebook will not load the Windows OS because the HDD is missing but it should be able to start and the LED should not flash!!!
But if the LED flashes this means that the fault was detected on the motherboard and the LED lamp sends a blinking code.
The short blinking means 0 and the long blinking means 1
Error code starts with LSB (least significant bit)
for example:
0000 0001 -> 1000 0000
This code you have to transform in hex and you will get the error code.
But in my opinion nobody will give you an answer what it means.
Every notebook series porvides own error code... -
Apple tv 3 requesting ip address every minute
Good evening,
My apple Tv 3 is connected to my router via ethernet cabling. Every device on my home network functions flawlessly. However, I noted that most of the time, my Apple Tv has been unable to correctly stream movies from home sharing, or even rented movies from Itunes.
I tried mostly everything, and never found a solution. My investigation led me to notice that my Apple Tv has been requesting an ip address from my router every minute or so. My DHCP log looks like:

And it goes on and on like that all day. It's the only device doing that. I tried setting the ip address manually, but it did not help.
Any clue?
Thanks!I had the same issue and it was filling up my logs as well. I set a static IP on my Apple TV as well as set a mac reservation on my router and it hasn't generated a log entry in the past half hour. I'll take that as a win. I do suspect that the wireless is still on even though I am physically connected via ethernet. It would be nice to see an option to turn it off.

Blurred Vision iPhone 4S LED Flash
Hi. A few days ago, I got a new camera app for my iPhone 4S and I stared at the LED flash behind the phone when it was going at 0.05 strobe for about a minute and now my vision is a little blouses. I don't know if I just think it's blured because I starred at the LED light. But it feels like it is. And I have to try harder to focus my eyes. Is it going to wear off. Can an iPhone cause permanent light damage. I woudnt think so because when shooting a photo, the LED has to face you and I haven't heard of many people having their vision affected. Could my iPhone have done this to me.
Because I recently got my iPhone, I wouldn't expect the OS to be already corrupted. Before I got your response, I turned it on and off (as I had done several times before) and the light stays on. Even when the iPhone is off. A few hours ago, for some reason it turned off. The bulb isn't burnt out because I can still take photos with flash. A weird little thing.

Blackberry 9900 bricked with red LED flashing
My cell phone Blackberry 9900 was bricked last night. No special usage or status before. Now it can't be turned on any more, just the LED flashing. I have tried many ways to re-turn it on, not work. It even can't connect to computer. the computer is able to find it just when the red LED is lighting!
What happened on my phone? What can I do next? I must turn it on!Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Please try this sequence...note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must remain directly connected to a known-good wall charger (not PC USB, not a cradle):
With the battery inside, connect your BB to the wall charger
Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
Remove the battery
Wait 15 minutes
Insert the battery
Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
This has been known to "kick start" some BBs.
It is also possible that your battery or BB has experienced a problem...to test, this sequence is needed:
Obtain an known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens
The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem. Note carefully please that "new" and "know good" are not necessarily the same things. While rare, a "new" battery certainly could be defective. Rather, the simplest (and least costly, btw) method to conduct this test is to find someone with an identical BB who has no issues...trade batteries and see what happens.
Good luck and let us know!

Qosmio G50 - HDD light flashes every second
Okay, So here it is,
I have a Qosmio G50. I have installed WindowXP Pro 64-bit.
I have noticed that the hard drive light flashes every second. I have spent a bit of time looking on the net for a soultion. This led me to download a utility called 'process explorer' from microsoft.
This utility show me that the active process is services.exe. The properties of this service suggest that it handles 'eventlog' and 'plugplay'
I realise that I cannot switch of the event log, nor would I want to.
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance.Hi
The HDD led flashes always if there any data would be read from or written on the HDD.
The service.exe (Service Control Manager) belongs to the Windows OS and its Microsoft background process which is needed and from my knowledge it cannot be disabled.

LED flashing light and email notifications!
i just got the curve 9300 and before had the curve 8520 and the flashing LED is so dim i can barely see it on my new one!
i have the phone on silent at work and use the LED to tell when i have a notification and i cant even see it in daylight hardly.
is there any way to make the red light flash up brighter like on the older model?
my sister has the new bold and hers is fine and bright.
Ive got the free bebuzz app and even when i select my fave contact as BRIGHT pink it is still really dim light.
Also i have my hotmail account set up on my bb.
When i get a new email the notification icon appears at the top but i cant view the email in my hotmail box only if i go into the "messages" icon. this isnt how it was before either!

so do they not all have a dimmer LED than other models then?
I do not have a 9300 device on hand. I have used one and tested one, and played with. The LED flashing was fine, with nothing less bright about it that I would have noticed or made me remember "oh this is dim".

you think its a fault on mine?
I don't know that, hence my suggestion to drop by where you purchased it and check another 9300 LED for comparison. There could certainly be some "personal preference" on this that you think it's not bright enough to you, but another 9300 might be brighter. There could some fault of your device. Do I think it's a fault on yours... I don't know. I haven't seen yours.
I'd also suggest that you UNinstall BeBuzz for now, completely uninstall, reboot your 9300 and test the LED from the native opertaing system settings.

Firefox keeps crashing at random times every minute or so, need help.
Firefox crashes pretty much every minute I browse the internet. Sometimes even if I just leave it there doing nothing. I've tried safe mode. I've tried disabling hardware accaleration. I've tried creating a new firefox profile. I've tried disabling flashplayer protected mode. Nothing worked so far. Oh and I can enter some websites through firefox for a shortwhile before it crashes but I've noticed that going to imdb.com and mozilla.org causes it to crash instantly don't know if it helps.
Here are the lat 5 crashes:

'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
* You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''
''When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.''
Thank you.
