Purple screen - cannot play downloaded films on my mac

I rented a movie from the iTunes store, but when I pushed play, I only see a purple and green screen with lines that flash. I can hear audio, but can't see anything. It doesn't help to play the video in Quick Time either. I get the same problem.
I have been searching for a solution for hours, but only find old posts on how to fix this when running Windows. I have a Mac, Airbook. It's 2 weeks old...

What model iPod do you have? Games can only be played on the 5th gen iPod (iPod video).
I ask because you are posting in the forum for older iPods which do not support games from iTunes.

Cannot play downloaded iTunes HD movies

Hello,
I initially had an issue downloading movies on my PC from iTunes in HD. I seemed to have taken care of that bug, now I cannot play any of my downloaded HD movies and wanted to know how to fix this. I never had a problem before but this seems to be an intermittent issue. Sometimes it works but most of the time it does not.
I do get a pop up window saying that my machine cannot play HD movies and that I should download in SD instead....this does not make any sense seeing that I was able to do this prior to a couple of the last iTunes software updates.
Can anyone help?

I restored my nVidia 8800GT graphics card and was able to watch the HD content purchased from iTunes, again. So, it should be able to do the same.
If your plan is to install both video cards on your system, there might be a problem. If iTunes senses that there is a video card that implements the HD encryption standard, it will restrict HD output to that video card.

BlackBerry World - Cannot play downloaded song

We would like to help regarding the issue you are experiencing with playing downloaded audio content from BlackBerry World.
Do you happen to recieve an error message when you attempt to play the file and if so, could you provide the us with the full message? Are you currently able to play any other audio files on the device?

Safari cannot play Apple Film Trailers

Hi All
I am trying to watch film trailers on the apple site but everytime i click on a trailer a white box appears where the trailer should play and nothing else happens.
Has anyone seen this problem before?
I am using the newest version of Safari 5.0.3

Hi,
Click your Appke menu (top left corner of your screen) then click Software Update...
That way you can make sure your system is up to date.
And repair permissions.
Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

Using dual screens cannot play sound on either screen

I have an HP Envy TS m6 sleekbook.
I use 2 screens for work. If I want to play audio on either screen, it doesn't play anything. I'm not sure whats going on or what settings I need to tinker with or change.
Any help would be great

I understand that you are using two monitors, but not getting any audio on either one when connected to your HP Envy m6 Sleekbook. I will try my best to help you with this issue. Although you have two monitors the audio should be working from your Sleekbook. Has the audio been working and now has stopped.
Here is a document for No Sound from Speakers (Windows 8) that explains how to use the Troubleshooting tool to check your audio.

Cannot play downloaded music!!!

Hi all,
Have recently purchased new music for a new Ipod, when I double click the song in Itunes to play it is asking me to authorise the IPod. Having entered my username and password it states that it has been correctly authorised however i then get a message saying 'could not complete music store request.An unknown error occures (-208).Error in Music Store. Please try again later.'
Is this due to the high volume of users because its Xmas Day?

Seems like the music never completly downloaded. Try redownloading on computer and sync.

Cannot play downloaded audiobook

Randomly when I download an audiobook from the iTunes store and have it on my iPod, it will show up on the menu and when I want to play it, it will show for 1 - 2 seconds, go to the next and keep skipping past this book to the next selection. I can I prevent or cure this?

I recently bought an ipod game form the itunes web site, it was successfully downloaded to my itunes downloads, but I can not figure out how to sinc it over to my ipod. Normally you can drag new songs to your playlists but this one has got me stuck.. Can you help?

I have songs downloaded to my iPad. for some reason these songs will not play. The songs were downloaded from iTunes. I have removed and re-added these tunes and the results are the same. Please advise...

If you selected the songs in iTunes and tried to copy/paste that will not work.
Drag the songs from the iTunes window to the player.

Cannot play/download songs from iCloud to iTunes

I just purchased a new MacBook. When I sign into iTunes with my apple id, all of my songs appear, however I am not able to play them or download them from iCloud. The iCloud icons and all text are all light gray, as opposed to their usual bold gray color.

in case anyone else has this problem I wanted to update with the solution. For clarity, this problem had nothing to do with iTunes Match. I just was unable to play or download any music. All I did was quit iTunes and Restart my computer and then all of my music was there and all is working fine.

Can you tell me why I cannot install downloaded Acrobat XI on Mac OS 10?

Purchased Acrobat XI and downloaded (several times) to the download file of Mac OS XI. On the Finder the file shows up under "Device". I am unable to install or open---I am just faced with a nice picture of the files within the download. Can anyone help?

Cannot play swf made on a Mac on the PC and vice versa

Hi,
I have some avi files that I need to turn into swf. When I convert them to flv files using adobe media converter on the PC then put them into flash and export as swf files, they look good on the pc but will not show on the mac (just white box). Conversley when I make swf files on the Mac (using the FLV files from the PC) they look OK on the mac but do not work on the PC? Any ideas how to fix this?

Might be a strange internal referencing problem (delimiters differ on Mac and PC) Embedding flvs in the swf causes many problems with audiosynch etc. If your videofiles are longer than 1 minute you should go for the streaming option
File>Import>Video>Load external Video via Playback-component
