  • Customer Interaction Center with SAP Phone

    Dear All,
We are using SAP Phone with CIC, and everything is working well when the SAP Phone server is started, but soon after one by one some of the extensions stop working. The users when they try to do any operation are blocked as SAP R3 is waiting for SAP Phone server to reply and in the log of the server we see the following
"A call to TAPI function lineGetAgentStatus has failed.
Call handle to use:        (Not used)
Second call handle to use: (Not used)
(Both or one of them may be marked as "Not used"
if not relevant for TAPI call)
    > Extended TAPI information:

The SAPphone Server uses TAPI 2.0 or higher to map
SAPphone functionality to TAPI. Unfortunaltely your
TAPI service provider currently being used does not
implement all TAPI functions required by the SAPphone Server.
In particular, this TAPI function is not supported: lineGetAgentStatus
Please contact the vendor of your TAPI service provider
to get a new version where function lineGetAgentStatus
is implemented or choose a different TAPI service provider."
We have checked the TAPI version and it is 2.1.x. Has anyone faced similar problems? and know of any solutions? If we re-start the SAP Phone server again everything works fine for some time. We checked the memory and its 4GB main memory, and system load is also low
Any help on this will be very much appreciated.

  • Difference Between SAP Phone & ICI

    Hi All,
We are planning to implement CRM IC WebClient using CRM 5.0. Currently we do not have any phone integration but we would like to consider doing so.
Can somebody please explain me the difference between using SAPphone Vs using ICI? Irespective of which ever option we use, do we still need a CTI Server?
What are the advantages that ICI has over SAPphone? Can we have Email Integration using SAP phone?
    Anirudh

    Hi Aniruth,
When a Company implements CTI integration for the first time, they have to see 2 option of interfaces.
One is SAPphone and another ICI interface.
Older SAPphone is mainly for telephony only integration in ICWinClient. It does not support other communication channels like email and webchat.
ICI interface  is used for web based applications like ICWebClient. A Multi-Channel Server would connect with ICI to integrate with ICWebClient.
ICI and SAPphone are the interfaces that is used to integrate the CTI with the Interaction Center.
So you still need a CTI to route calls, access customer information from CRM system and display on ICWebClient etc..
    Give points if it helps!!

  • PHONE AND SYNBIAN

    Hello,
After having seen a MOBILE SOLUTION purpose by SAP, I not found a mobile solution for mobile PHONE via WAP or GPRS.
Precisely, applications for OS SYNBIAN or other OS for Mobile Phone!
Becuase the size of "MI Client" is 26 Mb around...then is proper for a PALM Device!
    Someone Can help me?
    Thanks everybody

    Hi,
Just to clarify a number of points:
1.SAP has a number of mobile solutions and MI only one of them however MI is pure Java and not .Net based solution
    2. MI is not OS dependent, however in order to install it you should have Java Virtual Machine installed in your mobile device, so cureently SAP supply jvm only for specific architectures and specific OS which make MI OS dependent
    3. MI is not intended for mobile phones, if you are looking for mobile soluion for WAP please refer to Mobile Web Dynpro. Pay attention that Mobile Web Dynpro also support only subset of mobile devices.
    Hope it helps
    Victor.

  • What is the diffrence between SAP View and CAD View ?

What is the diffrence between SAP View and CAD View ?
What is the main purpose of SAP View
    and
What is the main purpose of CAD View
    On SAP help i found
SAP View is used for :The SAP view displays the SAP structure (document-based structure) for the active CAD object, or another document info record (header document), with a single-level or multilevel document structure in a tree structure. You can variably configure the fields using the layout editor.
CAD View is used for :The CAD view displays the document-based structure of the currently active CAD object, such as the structure of an assembly. The CAD system determines the complete (multilevel) structure and copies it either completely or in stages to the SAP system, in accordance with the default explosion level.
BUT I did not understand it well
Can someone explain this with an example
    THanks
    Raj

    Hello Raj,
SAP View  can be further described as the view that is based on what is existing already in the SAP system. This view is generally used by SAP purchasing, MM people etc
CAD view is nothing but the replication of the model tree view in the SAP system. This is used by the design engineer and this view replicates only the parts that are actively displayed on the CAD tool window.
hope this helps. Let me know if you have further questions else please close the message.

  • Could anyone provide the complete manual of SAP Query Creation

    Hi,
Now I am learning to create SAP Query.
I viewed many questions and answers about SAP Query.
Some mentioned this, and some did that...
Could anyone provide a complete manual of SAP Query Creation for developers.
I can create SAP Queries step by step with it.

Step-by-step guide for creating ABAP query
    http://www.sappoint.com/abap/ab4query.pdf
ABAP query is mostly used by functional consultants.
    SAP Query
    Purpose
The SAP Query application is used to create lists not already contained in the SAP standard system. It has been designed for users with little or no knowledge of the SAP programming language ABAP. SAP Query offers users a broad range of ways to define reporting programs and create different types of reports such as basic lists, statistics, and ranked lists.
    Features
SAP Query's range of functions corresponds to the classical reporting functions available in the system. Requirements in this area such as list, statistic, or ranked list creation can be met using queries.
All the data required by users for their lists can be selected from any SAP table created by the customer.
To define a report, you first have to enter individual texts, such as titles, and select the fields and options which determine the report layout. Then you can edit list display in WYSIWYG mode whenever you want using drag and drop and the other toolbox functions available.
ABAP Query, as far as I Believe, is the use of select statements in the ABAP Programming. This needs a knowledge of Open SQL commands like Select,UPdtae, Modify etc. This has to be done only by someone who has a little bit of ABAP experience.
To sum up, SAP queries are readymade programs given by SAP, which the user can use making slight modification like the slection texts, the tables from which the data is to be retrieved and the format in which the data is to be displayed.ABAP queries become imperative when there is no such SAP query existing and also when there is a lot of customizing involved to use a SAP Query directly

  • SAP HR-IN Form 16 Queries , Digital Signatures, SAP ADS

    Hi.
I have a couple of queries with regard to Form 16.
    1. My firm wants to use digital signature in the Form 16. How to configure the signature part of the Form16 in SAP?
    2. Where is the purpose of SAP ADS in digital signature?
    3. Do I need to get a new license for using the digital signature feature in form 16?
    4. My company is getting the digital signature part done thru a 3rd party. How to upload this digital signature into PC00_M40_F16?
    5. What are the relevant SNotes to be installed to use this feature?
    Regards
    Abraham

    Hi Abraham,
The workaround software we have used is provided by Ace Technology, they are one of the approved DSC vendors.
    This is their contact details:
    | Email: [email protected] | website: www.acetechnology.co.in
If you are going for the same vendor, go for a Grade 3 signature, it allows you to do a Mass Digital Signature.
The tech support provided by them was not that great, we eventually figured out how to use thier product, but incase you take the same service I can help you in figuring out how to use the USB token.

  • A few questions bout EBS and SAP

Can anyone please clarify what's the diff in SAP and EBS.
Can i get EBS for free (learning purposes)
In SAP ABAP is used for programming purposes. what is equivalent in EBS to that.?
    Regards
    Khurana

    Hi Khurana,
Following are my understanding and only my personal view.
    1. Can anyone please clarify what's the diff in SAP and EBS.
SAP and EBS are ERP solutions as you know, business wise its just a comfort factor which makes customer to choose either SAP or Oracle. To be straight SAP doesnt allow you to do customizations as it can be done in Oracle, this is what makes SAP tightly integrated less error prone. Both use their own way of programming which is the answer for your second question below. SAP has its own standards and Oracle too has its legacy. For techincal details you can refer to the following link,
    http://oreilly.com/catalog/sapadm/chapter/ch01.html
    2. In SAP ABAP is used for programming purposes. what is equivalent in EBS to that.?
ABAP is a programing language created by SAP and it is similar to any other programming language. Its quite similar to COBOL. This was first used as a reporting purpose by SAP and later used extensively for application programing.
For me equivalent for ABAP is PL/SQL in EBS or if i need to compare with reporting or form tool in EBS then it would be D2k.

  • Migration to SAP

    Hello Experts,
We have a Non SAP system as well as a SAP system. For a particular Co Cd, we enter transactions at both the Co Cds - Now the mgmt has decided to end up with the Non SAP system as it's too much of maintainence.
As of now, this is how it works - PO's are entered in both the systems and at the end of the month, data is transferred from SAP to Non-SAP system and then the payment program is run in Non-SAP system. After the run, there's no feed back to SAP - so all the PO's remain unpaid in SAP even after they are paid in real ( through infinium)- However for reporting purposes in SAP, we have another Co Cd in SAP, which reconciles with the Non-SAP system.
So what are the possible issues/concerns you would think/suggest for the transition.
All answers would be duly rewarded with points.
    Thanks,
    Nan

    Hi,
It is good to note that Non SAP system is being given up. Based on the information provided by you, there is lot of duplication involved as of now, as the same data is being captured in two systems either through an interface or manually. Basically, now the project is migrating from a legacy non-SAP system to SAP for one company code.
The steps involved in this process will be as under:
    1. Determine and define the Organization structure of the Company code.
    2. Identify all the Business Processes of the Company Code.
    3. Configure the Business Process which is not there as of now in SAP system.
    4. Extend GL Accounts to new Company code, assuming same chart of accounts being used.
    5. Determine currencies / fiscal year to be adopted (if it is different).
    6. Decide whether to attach the new Company code to the existing Controlling Area or not.
    7. Once the Business process mapping is completed, data conversion needs to be done. All the GL Balances / Customer and Vendor open items, Asset Masters and Asset values, O pen Purchase Orders and Open Sales Orders are to be brought into SAP.
    8. Once data conversion is completed - reconcile the balances with legacy system.
    Thanks
    Murali.
