Purpose of this Forum (Server General) *** Please Read Before Posting ***

Welcome to Windows Server General Forum !
This is an English TechNet forum, Please post your queries in English !
Scope:
The name "General" has a very broad significance and sometimes that might lead to some ambiguities.
The scope of this forum is to answer General "Server Administration" related queries pertaining
to Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008 / R2 and 2012  operating systems.
Again, "Server Administration" has innumerous aspects and at times it becomes bit difficult to categorize
them.
We try to answer your questions in General or provide troubleshooting support in depth as and when necessary
based on the context of the query.
Questions could be related to AD, GP, Server OS related Queries/issues/errors, general troubleshooting etc…
list is too huge and it's highly difficult to elaborate them here :-)
We understand that this scope and purpose can be a little confusing, we apologize for any confusion.
If you might not know the scope or purpose of this forum, we'll redirect you to read this thread if we need
to explain how this forum works.
Out of Scope:
Queries on following (but not limited to…) are Out of scope in this forum.
Scripting
SBS
- Small Business Server
IIS
Coding/Development:
Windows Client Operating Systems
Exchange
Server
Lync
TFS
SQL
server
Visual
Studio
.Net
SharePoint:
SCCM, SCOM
Third Party Applications
etc…
We might (but do not claim to) answer some of the out of scope questions directly here. If we do,
then it's just a Bonus ! and it's not the purpose or in the scope of what this forum provides.
Moving Threads:
It may happen that, your question might have been moved to this forum in an attempt by another moderator from
a different forum to help you find the correct forum or we might move your threads to an appropriate forum as and when necessary.
If a community member gave you the URL/link of a specific Technet forum, then you may request a move to that
specified forum (If a link to the forum category is specified; you'll still need to pick a specific forum from that category) or thread will be moved to the appropriate forum if a Moderator is around.
NOTE:
We cannot move a thread to another Microsoft forum that's not in the TechNet Forum System such as ASP.net,
IIS.net and Answers.Microsoft.com etc… So we can only provide links to those forums.
Marking Answers:
We propose a reply (such as a link about where to go ask your question) to a recent question as an answer,
and then we will usually wait one week (~7 days) before we mark it as the answer. We prefer you (the Asker/OP - Original Poster) to mark the answer, but we do not require it if you abandon the thread for a long time.
If you (the Asker/OP - Original Poster) refuse to let us propose and mark an answer (without telling us why
and helping us figure out the alternatives/workarounds), then we might need to lock a thread or move it to the Off Topic forum.
Please Read Before Posting:

I can understand your point of view and I respect it in regards to Small Basic being a learning language. None the less, let me make a suggestion that would be more ageeable, I think,  to different kinds of people. Why not make different versions
of this new language: version 1 for beginners that I heard would be out by the end of this year,
version 2 for intermediates and version 3 for more advanced programmers. All this would culminate to the Visual Basic language. These 3 versions would smoothe out the gap between SB and Visual Basic. Your new programmers would
evolve at the same time your versions would come out and Microsoft would have a long term policy of loyal programmers.

    Hi Kumar,
What I can say is that you have to avoid imbricated loops even though there is a WHERE clause in the second loop (SAP has to check all records in the second loop for this condition...).
On another hand, your code is not very clear since there lacks some ENDIF and ENDLOOP so we don't really see where there is imbricated loops or not...
For the loop on i_bsis, there seems also to have some error since you fill structure wa_revn but you append structure wa_final!!! There seems to be no link between those two structure!
Another point (but that don't affect performance but helps the code to be simpler),
DELETE FROM ztobi_gl_revn_ld CLIENT SPECIFIED WHERE mandt = sy-mandt.
    is equivalent to
    DELETE FROM ztobi_gl_revn_ld.
(if you add option CLIENT SPECIFIED it is in order to set mandt with another value than the current client!!!).
    Best regards,
    Samuel

  • Please search before posting!

Is it me or do we see about the same questions being posted over and over and over. No wonder people thing Macbooks are problem plagued - Please search before posting. Just venting...

Oh 'gimme a break, will 'ya? Lots of people are new here it is not always possible to find answers to questions, or they just want a personalized response. I think everyone is guilty at some point of posting a question that could have been searched for first. Besides, how are people to build up points to get a higher point status if the same questions are not asked again and again and again......?? IF that were the case, there would be very little activity on these boards and it would be no fun!

  • This forum and Safari please tell me what to do!

I have to Camino just to use this forum, Safari will not work with it any more.
Please do not move this topic to the safari room because its not safari. Safari is fine on just about every other web page I visit, except apples own!
    Problems:
Viewing next page threads. Usually you can get the first page up but going to the next page no go.
Getting to 'your posts' Usually won't load.
Posting a reply. Easily the most frustrating problem. You can sometimes fly through the fourm to the reply, type your reply and nothing, it refuses to load, either safari bombs out saying it could not connect to server or a new pages loads on the web site saying there was an error. also if you click refresh or stop whilst trying to post the mssage the 'post' button is now disabled. The only way to do anything is to copy the text launch Camino and do it from there where it works every single time.
It is the most frustrating problem and makes using the forums very difficult.
If I am the only one fair enough, tell me what I need to do to fix the problem.
    Thanks!

    Gary,
discussions may sometimes be slow for an hour or so (at which point the opening page of discussions will eventually apologize for the inconvenience, back on line soon...) but your description looks like a cache problem.
Try OnyX freeware to do some cleanup and see if that helps.

  • What is the Purpose of this Forum?

If it is to reduce traffic by driving people away, forcing them to log on simply to read to see if there is an answer to their question, or to see if there is a question they might be able to answer, then you guys are on the right track!
If the original idea of having people help each other is still around, forcing them to log in just to read is "dumb as a bag of hammers" (local expression).
Have seen this brain-dead stunt pulled in other forums (e.g. OCWORKBENCH) - after a few weeks, they usually figure it out.
    Sheesh.

    Who are you talking to?

One can take many opinions, and make observations but sarcastic posts like this don't belong in these forums and I wont tolerate them here, it does nothing but start problems. If you have problems with the way MSI does things then I suggest you take it somewhere else, because no one from MSI will see this. You've been told before that this is a user to user forum and you know the rules.

    Hi,
Base rule: BEFORE posting NEW thread in this forum, use "search forum" functionality on the top of this forum.
It has been observed that many threads are created requesting for basic information related to Sales and Distribution topics.
Most of the topics are already discussed in the Wiki section of SDN:

*Thread will be updated on a regular basis with more information

More details found on this site about Classic and Rosetta:
    http://daringfireball.net/2005/06/classicnotsupported
Rosetta is designed to translate currently shipping applications that run on a PowerPC with a G3 processor and that are built for Mac OS X.
Rosetta does not run the following:
Applications built for Mac OS 8 or 9
    Code written specifically for AltiVec
Code that inserts preferences in the System Preferences pane
Applications that require a G4 or G5 processor
Applications that depend on one or more kernel extensions
    Kernel extensions
Bundled Java applications or Java applications with JNI libraries that can’t be translated
    Classic is just not supported.
It is clear that apps that need the G4, G5 or Altivec Code won't run under Rosetta.

  • New Announcement Guidelines (READ BEFORE POSTING)

    Hello,
I am attempting to improve the way we share importnat news via the forums.  As you can see I have added the "glance" mod to the index page of the forums.  glance syndicates threads from certain boards.  Currently the two boards syndicated are this Announcements board and the Package and Security Advisory board.
Firstly I want to revamp the Package and Security Advisory board.  I want people who have upgrade problems to post in a different area and I want to provide an area for TUs and Devs to announce Package and Security Advisories!  I think this is maybe best done via the current Announcements board, necessitating a name change.
Another suggested change to the Announcements board includes tagging of threads regarding their content e.g. [pkg] for a package advisory, [sec] for a security advisory and [news] for news, etc.  Threads should also be tagged with the date.
    e.g. [news 200509 - 14] Changes to Announcements board
And before anyone points it out, yup, this is a rip off of the way gentoo-forums manage their announcements but it is a basis to start from and I think we can do better!
Lastly using phpbb to mark threads as announcements when they are in the annoucements forum seems a little asinine - we should stick to stickies for all but the most high profile information.

    G'Day Dibble
Excellent idea.  I believe if there is a better way out there, and you don't use it then the door is open to critisizm.  I congratulate you for taking the steps to enhance this forum
    Cheers

  • Purpose of this forum?

Is this a replacement for the hideous Yahoo-based forum for disucssion the Sun One Application Framework (aka JATO)?
If so, I am glad it has finally arrived!

There still seems to be much more activity on the Yahoo forum than here (unforetunately). Is the Yahoo forum going to go away so that there is only one place to check.
Im guessing the issue is all of the 'historical' posts on Yahoo not wanting to get stranded/lost.
