Push Notification messages from SLS to iPhone

Hi.
Can anyone advise whether it's possible to have a web-based event (like submitting a form) generate a push notification that is sent by a SLS machine to iPhone devices? Detailed explanation not expected, just a nod as to whether this is the sort of functionality I can expect or not..
Best,
Wade.

I Have same problem and can not find a solution yet

  • How can I get my messages from my old Iphone 4 to my new Iphone 4s?

I just bought the new Iphone 4s, and have activated it and synced it with my computer. The messages from the old Iphone 4 have not transfered over. I had to set up many of the settings that were once configured on my previous phone such as my e-mail accounts. The messages are really important and I would like a solution to trasfer them to the new phone. So if this is a known problem or if there is a solution, it would be very helpful if someone could share.

Thank you for your response. I was talking about text messages and not e-mail. I used the e-mail as an example of other settings I had to manually enter in again since the phone forgot them.
As for the text messages, I got them back. Yay. The solution was to restore from a previous backup. The problem I had was that the phone registered as a new phone, instead of restoring from my backup.
For those that may run into this problem, connect your iphone, then use the restore button under the update button. It says that it will restore the phone to factory settings. Thats fine, dont let it bother you. you will get the chance to restore from back up. Mine downloaded something then reset and gave me the option to restore. I did and I got back all of my text messages.

  • Can I restore text messages from a destroyed iPhone 4 if I didn't backup in the cloud?

Can I restore text messages from a destroyed iPhone 4 if I didn't backup in the cloud?

If you backed it up using iTunes on your computer, then you can restore it from there. If you didn't back it up at all, then no. There is no place to restore it from.

Restore from old iPhone backup can past all data including messages to your new iPhone. Or you can resfer to this iPhone 4/4S SMS to iPhone 5 transfer tutorial. It shows you how to transfer messages only.

  • Email push notification takes longer than on iPhone

    Hi,
On my iPad 3 with iOS 5.1.1 the push notifications for gmail (exchange) take several minutes to arrive whereas on my iPhone 4S with iOS 5.1.1 the
Push notifications are instantly. I have already tried deactivating my iCloud account and retting my network settings but it doesn't make any difference.
    Anybody experiencing the same issue?

Today the push notification for gmail on my iPhone was slow too. Took about 2 minutes after I've sent it. The official gmail app got it instantly.

  • IPad with IOS 6.0.1 stuck on message from Find my iPhone. What to do?

iPad with IOS 6.0.1 stuck on message from Find my iPhone. What to do?

Quit the app completely. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
    Or...
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • Find My Friends on iPhone 4s gives constant push notification message

I replaced my iPhone 4 with an iPhone 4s last night.  I was using Find My Friends on both my iPhone 4 and my iPad before I changed phones.  After the phone update, the app still works fine on the iPad.  But when I log into the FMF app on  the iPhone 4s I get the following message over and over.
    Connect to iTunes to Use
    Push Notifications
    "Find Friends" notifications may
    include alerts, sounds and icon
    badges.
There is an OK button at the bottom of the message.  When I press it, the message goes away for no more than two seconds and then comes back.  Over and over and over.
I have deleted the app and reinstalled it several times and I've turned notifications on and off several times.  I connected to iTUnes like it said, but I can't see anything that I need to do to turn on Push notifications.
    Anybody else seeing this?
    Joe
BTW, if it matters, none of my iOS devices are jailbroken.  The old phone was (completely legally) running the iOS5 GM from the developer program.

After further research and testing, it is clear this is not an issue with FInd My Friends.  The issue is with the loss of Push Notifications.  It is happening in other apps as well.  There are lots of threads on the Push Notification issue.  None of them have any solution except to reinstall iOS5.

  • Push notifications disappear from Yahoo Mail

I upgraded to IOS 4 a while back (still waiting to do 4.0.1, seems like some have real signal issues). After a while, I stopped getting push notifications from Yahoo mail.
I confirmed all the settings were correct, everything is set to push. I also have an IMAP account which is not push, but it was living happily along side my yahoo mail account.
I tried changing all settings to fetch, then back to push, and it still doesn't work. I tried rebooting the phone, that didn't work. A few days ago I deleted the yahoo mail account, and re-added it. Yay, I got push notifications back! But today, they're gone again
One event that may be to blame is that I plugged it into an older JBL speaker/dock that the iphone says is not compatible (but happily works fine with). Do you think this can cause Yahoo mail push notifications to get screwed up? I hate to have to delete and re-add my yahoo mail account every few days. I'm going to test to see if the dock is the culprit tonight, but I'm just wondering if anyone else has these problems?
    -Steve

I just got an iphone 3GS three weeks ago, and found out that I could receive my yahoo e-mails in real time thru my device via push option. Per recommendations of other blogs I deleted my account, changed my password and re-added it again in my iphone but no e-mails in real time yet!! I had the soft version 4.0.1, and now have the 4.0.2 version but remains the same, no e-mails reception in real time. Any help will be more than welcome. Cheers!

  • Does a push notification use wifi if my iPhone was asleep?

When my phone is awake all Internet access is via wifi. The wifi turns off when the phone sleeps and then starts again when it wakes up; BUT there is a slight pause. So if my phone is asleep does the push notification wake the phone up then wait briefly for the wifi to connect before accessing the Internet? Or does the push notification "see" that the wifi isn't immediately available and start a 3G session?

If all you did was remove it from the device list (by clicking the "x" next to the device name), it should reappear on the device list automatically if it ever goes back online.  Read point number 3 under "Remove an iOS device...on which you can't turn off Find My iPhone" here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmfc0eeddd.

  • IMessages, Facetime, push notifications not working on new iPhone 5!

    Hello Community,
I just upgraded this afternoon from my iPhone 4 to a new iPhone 5. I am currently connected to my wifi network and just noticed iMessages and facetime wont work! I tried signing in using my apple id and it says check your connection and try again or waiting for activation. I know there isn't an issue with my apple ID as i used it on my old iphone 4 and just purchased some apps in the store and it worked great! wnl
Also, the apps I downloaded are telling me to connect to iTunes to recieve push notifications, but push notifications are on for the apps! I also connected and synced my iPhone with my computer to try to solve all issues stated above, no dice.  I realize these questions have been asked several times, so sorry to repeat a thread! Any help appreciated.

    Hello there M.air.21,
I think I have the perfect article for you. It's named iOS: Troubleshooting FaceTime and iMessage activation and can be found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4268. It should help you resolve any issues with getting FaceTime and iMessage activated.
    All the very best,
    Sterling

  • Help with excessive push notifications - identifying data trafic on iPhone

I have a peculiar issue. According to my usage logs from my carrier, I am using 1MB of data every 15 to 20 minutes. With a cost of $0,17 per MB, this ammounts to quite a bit by the end of the month, in February I had spent over $200 in data trafic.
I do not wish to re-set my iPhone, since there is data on it that is important, so I want to figure out what the phone is really fetching.
Is there some way of identifying the data stream on the phone? Kind of like little snitch for an iPhone. This would allow me to see who the culprit was and possibly stop the traffic before it would cost too much.
Another question is how push notifications really work. By what I understand push is a subscribtion that is logged on a database somewhere (with Apple?. So if there is a bug in a support server, or a jam in one of the push subscribtions, would it really work to re-set the phone?
Any help or assistance is greatly appreciated.

I have a 750mb usage allowance and I was going over it because I wasn't aware how much my apps were actually using.
I turned off 3G when I was out of the house and only connected with wireless.
What it came down to was me using the app Instagram which is a photo sharing app. Every time the app refreshed it downloaded photos which was using up all my data. I stopped accessing Instagram through 3G and the problem was fixed. Now I go back on 3G a little and check my mail, use whatsapp, Facebook and find I stay well within my limit, in fact I hardly use anything at all now.
I honestly didn't realise how much I used 3G every day until I had to think about it. I wouldn't have thought your apps should be using so much data when you're not using them. Think about what apps you are using though, especially if it's anything to do with photos or downloading a lot of info.

  • "Delete messages from server" Mail iPhone 5

Hi, I am trying to locate "delete messages from server" option in Mail Settings on iPhone 5 and can't find it. In iPhone 4 it was just in the Advanced settings but it is not there in iPhone 5. Help please? Thanks

Not sure who your email provider is. Mine is hotmail. When you set up email with hotmail on an iPhone 4 the delete from server never is available. I just got an iPhone 5, i reset up my hot mail account and can't find that setting either. I set it up by using the hotmail button not "other" so meaning delete your hotmail account from your phone. Then re set it up. But when you do add email account, don't use the button that says hotmail. Use the bottom choice that says "other". I have no idea why this is different but if you do this it will set up hotmail just the same. But now that setting is there. The "delete from server" and you set it to "never". Now when you delete the emails from your hot mail account on the iPhone, it leaves that email on the hotmail server. So when you look at email on the computer it's there still. It's good this way if you share email with someone.
