Push Notification with exchange

I have a 3Gs, use mobile me mail and an exchange mail account. When the ability to set push notification for mail delivery first arrived in OS2 and I set up to use it I had problems. Notification caused duplication of all contacts and calendar events. Since that time I've set mail up for fetching at 15 minute intervals. I'd like to use "find my phone" capabilities which apparently requires push notification. As I use sync services to keep my exchange data in sync with my computer's mail and address book applications I am concerned that using push on my mobile me mail account will once again cause problems with duplicated data. My question... If I set push notification just for the mobile me mail account will it push changes to my address book and calendar events as well? Also, if it does modify or add/delete those events how does sync services handle that when interacting with my exchange data? My goal is to avoid duplicate events or confusion between the exchange data and the modifications I make to data on my iPhone. Thanks!

I am on the latest iOS version 8.1.2 and I am still having this issue with both my iPad and my iPhone. Very frustrating.

Push notifications for Exchange

Hello, will there ever be push notifications for email on exchange? ie: appear on screen like a badge from AIM etc.

Not sure what you mean. Exchange email can be pushed, and does result in a badge. Perhaps it's terminology - a badge is the red dot with number on the app icon (new Exchange emails badge the Mail app icon).
If you mean an alert (i.e. a text preview of the message that pops up on screen, like an Exchange calendar invite), Apple would need to implement that.

Looking for a way to turn Push off with Exchange

I am looking for away to turn push OFF with an Exchange email account. Since I added it I have started going over my data plan limits. I just want it to featch emails every 30min or so. This seems simple enough but Exchange email accounts do not seem to allow you to turn off Push for the inbox. So far I have tried the things listed below. The Gmail accounts work fine and check for mail every 30 min, but the Exchange account is still getting mail pushed from the inbox immediately.
o I turned off Push option in Settings > "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" > "Fetch New Data".
o I Set the fetch option to 30 min in "Settings" > "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" > "Fetch New Data".
o I found that the checked setting for Inbox in "Settings" > "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" > "<Selected The Exchange acct>" > "Mail Folders to Push" > is grayed out and can not be unchecked.

Exchange by definition is a Push service. the whole point of it is to keep the two systems in sync.
You could speak to your provider and ask them to provide a POP3 service.

Push notification with ical server to known Attendees of the OD

Hello Apple-Community.
I have a Problem with the Push-Invitations of my Mac Server.
Here´s my background:
- MAC OS X 10.6.4 as Mail-Server, Ical-Server, OD-Master
- Ical and Thunderbird Lightning 1.02b as Calendar-Clients
My Problem:
Every Attendee in my Calender-System with an E-Mail, listet in the OD under the field "mail" eg. "EMailAddress" doesn´t get any Invites via E-Mail. If I delete the EMailAdress in my OD, the user gets an E-Mail-Invitation.
My target:
I want modify the System. The Push-Notification-Server shall send always an E-Mail to every Attendee of an appointment.
I would modify the appropriate configuration file but I have really no idea, where I can search.
I hope, that someone can help me.

I have a very similar configuration with all PC Thunderbird/Lightning clients. I need the same resolution, but think that an add-on to Thunderbird/Lightning that would accept the event push notifications and allow a response is also a solution. Is there anyone how can develop such an add-on?

No Push Notifications with 4.3.2 update

Hi,
I updated my iPhone to 4.3.2 and started having a problem with it. Push notifications stopped working specifically with ebuddy messenger Pro and Beejive. It's really annoying and I tried everything from disabling them then enabling them to deleting and restoring these apps. Nothing seemed to work.
Does anyone have the same problem? Please help

I was just going through my setting and discovered that my cellular data network settings have been wiped completely. I feel a bit silly not noticing this before because I was connecting through my wi-fi all the time.
Anyway when I restored all the data I started receiving push notifications almost immediately; some were a few days old. I logged into eBuddy and the notifications worked, I even disconnected from 3G and connected through wi-fi and push notifications still worked.
I also remember that I read about someone who solved this problem by deleting his cellular data and typing it back.

Sending Push Notifications with Adobe DPS

Question.
I'm testing out all the Adobe DPS and Apple options. And one of the things I would like to test is Push Notifications.
I followed the iPad publishing guide to be able to get all the certificates so that's ok. Then I was looking for a way to send
push notifications. Because Adobe DPS doesn't really have a UI environment (PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong ;-) to send push
notifications I have to do it 'by hand'. When I tested my app on my iPad I got the "app name wants to send you push notifications",
so i'm sure my certificates are working. Now I just need to send a push message.
So I followed this great tutorial:

I was able to do everything and was able to send a push notification ... but I never received it. And the reason for this is because
I don't have the app device token, which is a 64 character serial number which acts as your app address. So I don't have any way of sending the notification
to my particular app. (which is a test sideload multifolio app).
Because the Adobe DPS is cloud based you don't get any code (which I love). But I think that is currently stopping me
from finding out my device token.
What I'm asking:
- Does this mean I can't send any push notifications to Adobe DPS created apps?
- If this is supported somehow, I suppose (again, correct me) I need the app device token for the created app. Where do I get this?

At this time, it's not possible to manually push notifications. When you enable push, only publishing a new folio displays the red badge. At some point, when third-party push is supported, manual pushes will be possible.

Base on my understanding, as there is no special DNS requirements to enable federation for push notification. You only need to do the following steps:
Enable federation and public IM connectivity in Lync Server 2013
Create public SIP federated providers in Lync Server 2013
Create hosted SIP federated providers Lync Server 2013

Gateway implementation for Push Notification with SMP

Hello there,
We have a requirement for mobile application we are developing. We are using SAP NetWeaver gateway services to push the data to mobile devices (Android). We are using SMP to achieve the push notification.
We have configured SMP to receive the registration from android devices. In the back end system, we can see the subscribed devices in the table /IWBEP/D_MGW_SUB. Currently, we are using REST client to send the notification to individual device (Using <APPCID>). However, we need to send the notification directly from gate way service (ABAP side) to all registered devices on occurrence of some event (Database change). Can you please help on how to send notification from gate way service (ABAP) to SMP, and in turn to the device? And refer some documents regarding the same if any?

For push notification, you have to use security profile as "Notification" and have to add required role as "Notification User". You can also add other authentication providers as you mentioned for MYSAPSSO2.
Settings>Security profiles>Notification(Cannot be deleted)
For APNs traffic to get past your firewall, you'll need to open these ports:
TCP port 5223 (used by devices to communicate to the APNs servers)
TCP port 2195 (used to send notifications to the APNs)
TCP port 2196 (used by the APNs feedback service)
TCP Port 443 (used as a fallback on Wi-fi only, when devices are unable to communicate to APNs on port 5223)

Email notification with exchange server

Is there a way to configure bpel to email a notification through microsoft's exchange server?

ok, I'm not sure if this was a smart move or not...
I tried to telnet with what I think is the name of the server, and it didn't do anything. When I ran the process, it faulted.
So in some advanced tab of my network settings, I chose to have an smtp server running on my network. I changed the ns_email.xml file again to have that server's name. When I run the process, it still faults, but the error message has changed to
<faultInfo>Invalid Addresses; nested exception is: javax.mail.SendFailedException: 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for [email protected]</faultInfo>
</part>
[email protected] is actually filled with my real email address.
any thoughts?

Outlook categories and colors over push sync with exchange server

Hello,
in which way can i get the outlook categories, colors and privacy flag from my company outlook over the exchange push sync to my iphone?
Currently I'm using an PDA to transport my calendar and tasks. But with our new
iphones I wan't to have only one device for all.
Is there a chance to me to get this szenario work?

Isanyone else having issues with Push Notifications?

I am having the issues push notifications with MLB at the Bat 2010, ESPN Worldcup app, ESPN Sportcenter App, Sportsatcular. No push notification for any of these apps what so ever. I get push notifications for text messages and exchange calendar events, but not much else. I have every setting for the phone and these apps set to send notifications and I am not getting any notifications on my new iphone e4. These all use to work on my old 3g.

I was able to resolve all of my push notification issues by uninstalling and reinstalling all of the effected apps from my iphone. This tip came from the excellent support folks over at ESPN
