Push notifications never appear once choosing "Don't Allow" at first run

For applications that use push notifications such as fring or Ping!, when I choose "Don't Allow (push notifications)" at the first run of each application, the options to turn push notifications back on (or off) at Settings > Notifications will never be found there, resulting in not receiving any push forever, even when you change your mind to get push!
Is there any way to correct this? I tried to delete the application and reinstall but still no push is coming. Thank you.

Hi,
1. Did you install any protection application on you iphone?
2. Please try to test push notification to see if any error message is received when Lync 2010 is disappeared from notification setting.

  • Why my Push Notifications never works?

    Hello guys!
    I don't know why, but my Push Notifications never ever worked with any of my apps.
    I've tried everything, all the options in the Settings are on.
    Tried to restore too, but no sign of notifications.
    I am kinda frustrated, specially because of the new Notification Center feature.
    Does anyone know why am I having this problem and how can I fix this?
    Thank you really much!

    Deactivate itunes account: Go to settings > itunes store & appstore > sign out from the account 'Apple ID: xxxxxxxxxxxx' >
    Restart the iphone/ipad

  • Push Notifications Never Worked on my 3GS

    I know there are masses of posts about this but having read lots I can't find one covering my situation.
    As far as I'm aware push notifications have never worked on my iPhone 3GS. I am now using iOS 4.2.1.
    The phone was originally locked to O2 in the UK and they gave me an official unlock code to unlock it through iTunes - which I did successfully - when I moved out of the UK.
    I can see many posts about problems with jailbroken phones - it's not jailbroken.
    I can see many posts about problems with push notifications over WiFi - and while they don't work either, port 5223 is not blocked on my network, and more to the point push notifications don't work when I'm accessing the network visa the mobile network either - so my issue is not WiFi specific.
    I have the notifications panel in settings, and for various apps all notifications are turned on, but I've never had a single notification.
    I do get push Apple mail notifications (a bleep and the badge showing unread mail when I open the phone) but from what I've read I think this uses a different mechanism.
    To be specific about some of the apps I'm having the problem with (and as mentioned none of them are notifying me) these are some that I have the following configured for push: Facebook, Google Goggles, Good Enterprise Email.
    I have hard booted the phone (top and front button held down together until the Apple logo appears on the phone). I've ensured the software is up to date through iTunes.
    Any suggestions for what else I can try to get push notifications working?

    I'm in the same situation.
    I have never had PUSH notifications work on my IPhone 3GS as far as I know. Never received notifications from Facebook or any other PUSH type app.
    I am not jailbroken and I'm on IOS 4.3, I purchased my phone and the SIM card that came with it was from ROGERS Communication, which is one of if not the largest provider in Canada.
    It wasn't really an issue for me until I downloaded "Whatsapp" from the app store, which pretty much relies on PUSH notifications. With multiple tests, I have found out that none of the PUSH notifications come through unless I load the app, which defeats the purpose of having the app in the first place.
    So, I too am looking for a fix. Didn't mean to hijack your thread or anything, but maybe if there are more people like us, maybe we can find a fix?

  • Opting out of push notifications.

    I had a question about games or other apps asking if it's ok to send you push notifications, and you say no but yet when you turn your iPad on again the next day, you have push notifications regardless. I download games and they always say such and such would like to send you push notifications. I always choose Don't Allow, but then the next day I get notifications and badges on these apps. i then go to the Notifications section in Settings and find that all the notifications settings for that game are switched to On regardless of my opting out. Is this a bug that Apple has overlooked or not addressed? It happens for everything I download. Thank you for your help.

    Yes I do know about that, but what I'm talking about is the popup that comes up whenever you open an app or game. Shouldn't that turn off push notifications when you choose Don't Allow? I think if Apple instituted something like that then it should work right? Kind of defeats the purpose of having that dialogue if after you choose Don't Allow you still have to go into the settings to turn off what you already opted you didn't want on.

  • Google voice: no push notifications if iphone 5 is asleep using ios7

    hi, since i've upgraded to ios 7, google voice does not work when my phone is asleep. There are no push notifications, nor does the phone ring. i have to manually check my phone for missed calls/texts.
    anyone else have this issue? my settings are for push notifications to appear and i only had this issue since upgrading to ios 7. there are some other buggy issues but this one is the most annoying.

    I have the exact same problem you have? I can occasionally getpushnotification, but only once a day fore facebook. For twitter, I get nothing and newer got. Other programs never got any notification att all.Push notification is on both under notification center and the respective programs.I have iOS 5.0.1 on iPhone 4S.

  • Does my push notification work properly?

    When I firstly install and open a new App,  some App which supports for the push notification will ask me to allow the push notification. Then If I choose don't allow, all notification fuunctions should be turned off, or not?
    What I found is when I choose do not allow notifcation, for some App (it is likely to be a new release App) it was turned off only Alert style. The rest notification functions were still turned on, such as notification center, badge and sound.
    However, for some App, such as facebook, when I choose don't allow notification, all notification functions were turned off.
    So I don't understand  why I got the different setting when I select  "don't allow notification" after first install and use. I know that we can go to setting and set it manually, but I am not sure whether my iphone work properly, or not?

    Not sure what 'goes crazy' means but it most likely should not do that.  Try a reset... press the home and sleep/lock buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
    Also try it plugged into another outlet (on another circuit) and/or try another charger.

  • Problem sending Apple Push Notification using Java and REST.

    Hello there,
    Am using the javapns library to send an Apple Push Notification through a REST based web service...
    Here are the steps that I have completed:
    iPhone Developer Program Portal (IDPP):
    (1) Created the App ID and APNS based SSL Certificate and Keys.
    (2) Created and installed the provisioning profile.
    (3) Installed the SSL Certificate and Key on the server.
    (4) Set up my iPhone app to register for remote notifications.
    XCode:
    Was able to obtain my device token when I built and deployed my app onto my device.
    As soon as my iPhone app deployed, the dialog came up on my iPhone indicating that my app would like to send push notifications and also asked for permission to allow them.
    When I invoked my web service, through my Log4J statements, I was able to see that my REST based web service was indeed invoked but I never received a push notification on my iPhone app!
    ApnsManager class:
    public class ApnsManager {
        /** APNs Server Host **/
        private static final String HOST = "gateway.sandbox.push.apple.com";
        /** APNs Port */
        private static final int PORT = 2195;
        public void sendNotification(String deviceToken)
        throws Exception {
           try {
               PayLoad payLoad = new PayLoad();
               payLoad.addAlert("My alert message");
               payLoad.addBadge(45);
               payLoad.addSound("default");
               PushNotificationManager pushManager =
                  PushNotificationManager.getInstance();
               pushManager.addDevice("iPhone", deviceToken);
               log.warn("Initializing connectiong with APNS...");
               // Connect to APNs
               pushManager.initializeConnection(HOST, PORT,
               "/etc/Certificates.p12", "password",
               SSLConnectionHelper.KEYSTORE_TYPE_PKCS12);
               Device client = pushManager.getDevice("iPhone");
               // Send Push
               log.warn("Sending push notification...");
               pushManager.sendNotification(client, payLoad);
               pushManager.stopConnection();
           catch (Exception e) {
               e.printStackTrace("Unable to send push ");

             g.close();
             return sw.toString();
    }Now, when I deploy my app to my app server and open up a rest client and type in:
    http: // localhost:8080/myapp/apns/send
    The rest client returns this:
    HTTP/1.1 200 OK
    The following log messages are outputted to my console:
    01:47:51,985 WARN  [ApnsManager] Initializing connectiong with APNS...
    01:47:52,318 WARN  [ApnsManager] Sending push notification... However, I don't receive the push notification on my app (residing on my iPhone)!
    Am really stumped at this point...
    What could I possibly be doing wrong? :(
    Is it a problem with the way I set up my RESTful web service (sorry I am a newbie to REST)?
    Would really appreciate it if someone could assist me with this...
    Thank you for taking the time to read this...

  • Push notification won't work...

    Guys I am just loosing my mind over this issue. Maybe you can shed some light on the matter. I have a fresh install of 10.6.1 Snow Leopard on a bran new Xserve. For some reason I can not get Push notification to work. Below I am going to add as much information as I can to allow you very gracious experts out there to hopefully identify what the issue is:
    *Current running Services:*
    Address Book
    AFP
    DNS
    iCal
    Open Directory
    Push Notification
    SMB
    Web
    Clients are both on the inside and on the outside of the network. Port 8443 is punched through on the firewall to one of the two NICs on the Xserve. Our network is made up of three zones on a SmoothWall firewall: Red is public IP, Orange is 192.168.1.xxx, and Green is 192.168.0.xxx. The server exists on both the Orange and the Green with 192.168.1.3 and 192.168.0.3. The symptom shows up even if I disable the Orange NIC and punch through to the green and also shows up on both internal clients and external clients.
    The clients do see the ability to choose the Push option in the client iCal settings but it just doesn't work. The only way to see changes in the calendar events is to manually refresh the calendar.
    Now for the weird logs:
    *Here is a concerning part of the error log of the iCal service:*

    *Under the configured services for Push Notification:*

    *Under the Push Notification setting for the Settings window for iCal:*
    Push Notification: xserve.local
    *Now I know that if I'm running an iCal server on the same server as DNS then I should have the fully qualified address under the Push Notification setting, but it won't freaking change to xserve.xxxxxxxxxx.com. I know it doesn't make sense but no matter what I put in that field it always goes back to xserve.local. I have gone over my DNS settings and everything seems correct.*
    I know this is long and tedious to read but I really appreciate any help...I promised this functionality and my neck is on the line unless I deliver.

    Just got done reading this, Eye Opener..
    Been trying and thought I was doing something Wrong, turns out PUSH DON'T WORK...

  • Disable all push notifications iOS7

    In iOS6 you can do Settings->Notifications->Off.
    I want to disable ALL push notifications on my iPad.
    I do not want my iPad talking to Apple push notification servers. And I don't want pop ups on my screen.
    How is this achievable?

    I have had the same problem and what I have found that you can do is:
    Settings->Notification centre->select app->choose none at the top and scroll down and choose to not show in notification centre
    This us the only thing I have found that you can do and it seems to stop them coming through for me!
    Hope this has helped you

  • Re:Push notification error when publishing a new folio from DPS

    I have run into a problem when publishing a new folio to our app from DPS Folio Producer. I published the new folio without a probelm, but when I pus the "Notify" button, I get an error message that an error has occured while sending the push notification. The push certificate has expired and that to upload a valid push notification, I should rebuild my app in DPS App Builder and to retry sending push notification. (See screen grab).
    This is our first push notification for a recently approved app. I worked through all the instruction to create push notifications through DPS. And we tested everything and it was fine.
    Our app is a free subscription, multi-folio app in newsstand hosted on the DPS server with DPS push notifications.
    What am I doing wrong? I really don't want to have to bebuild/resubmit the app to iTunes to get this to work. It seems odd that the push certificate would be expired, we just created it last month.
    Thanks!
    Running most recent DPS version on a MAC OSX 10.9.2

    Hi,
    Direct saves to the server from MS Office over Webdav are not recommended when the versioning mode is Manual. The reason is that the actions of checking out & checking in the document need to be done from the Team Collaboration client and are not done from within MS Office.
    Rather, set the versioning mode to Auto or Disabled and it should work just fine.
    Thanks,
    Jay

  • Free subscription/ Push notification question

    I've been reading up on posts in regards to the notifications sent through the Folio Producer.
    From what I understand, hitting notify will send the blue "A new issue of _____ is now available" notification that appears once they open the Newsstand app.
    Is there a way for this notification box to appear without the user having to open the app?

    Amazing, there isn't any takers.

  • I was just prompted (out of no where) that "CoreServicesUiAgent" would like to access your calendar. Don't Allow. Allow. - What's that for? Why did it show up and do I allow or not? I've googled this extensively and no one knows what it is. Thanks.

    This promt seems to relate to iCal - it is requesting access to my "calendar" but the icon shows the iCal icon infront of some icon of a house with a dial - maybe it is supposed to look like a safe dial protecting my house.
    There is a ? that launches the Help Centre. There is says the prompt is because something is tying to access the calendar and I need to give permission but I'm not running anything that would have needed access.
    Is it possible that one of the websites I was on prompted it? I didn't download anything - but I'm working in SmartSheet, which uses a calendar tool to track projects. Any chance that's trying to communicate with iCal in the background?
    But I can't see anywhere online where people know what the CoreServicesUIAgent is, and there's no more info about what/who I'd be giving access to my calendar.
    Help?
    Thanks,
    k

    Thanks, I'd done that before coming to Apple and didn't receive any additional information about whether it's safe to choose "Don't Allow" or "OK". I don't know what I'm in for if I choose either one. Can't afford to lose that calendar. I depend on it too much.

  • I want the red badge to appear on my app but I don't have push notifications.

    I have a crazy Client, that wants a badge notification to appear on this app, but she does not have an Urban Airship account.  I know I can get a badge if I refresh, or launch it and down make a download, and I know that only people who permit notificaitons on their devices will get it....but how can I get it to show without launching it?
    If there is no way to get the badge up, can I resubmit the app and change the screenshot and get a push right from Apple of the badge?  If not, how much of the code do I need to change before I resubmit......and if I resubmit, assuming the code change - will that even force the badge?  I'm confused about what I have to change for an 'upgrade' and assumign I do those things..........do I still need Urban Airship or will the badge just appear from Apple?
    Bottom line is, I need that badge on this app, and I don't know how to get it....!
    Thank you!
