Push Notifications Stop Working

I'm having a problem receiving push notifications on my iPhone 5 (Verizon). This affects push email (iCloud and Exchange), iMessage, and third-party apps. Push notifications will work normally for some period of time (on average, a few hours, sometimes less) and then stop working. Toggling airplane mode or restarting the phone will restart the push notifications service and temporarily fix the problem. But it then recurs. I've tried resetting network settings and backing up & restoring the phone, but the problem recurs.
I've also noticed that the apsd process is crashing on my phone. APSD is the Apple Push Service Daemon. It seems every few hours or so, it crashes with exception EXC_CRASH (SIGABRT), and the phone stops displaying push notifications. You can see the crash logs in Settings-->General-->About-->Diagnostics & Usage-->Diagnostic & Usage Data.
I have no problems (and no similar crash logs) on my iPhone 4S (AT&T)  and iPad 3rd-gen (Verizon), both of which are running iOS 6. Is anyone else having similar issues and has anyone gotten a response from Apple?

Same problem, wiped and restored phone and it fixed it temporarily (just like restarting or toggling airplane mode would). Only seems to affect my corporate Exchange account, as I have my Gmail account added as an Exchange account to take advantage of Push and Contact syncing and it continues to work fine. I tested with another iPhone 5 in our organization and it has been working fine since the user got it.
However, I don't see APSD in Diagnostic & Usage Data, I'm not sure how long that log is kept but it has stopped working twice since I performed a restore on the phone, last night and again this morning (only a few minutes after I restarted).
iPhone 5
Verizon 13.3
Version 6.0.1 (10A525)
Model: MD654LL
Modem Firmware: 1.01.00
Am going to try wiping and setting it up as a new phone.

  • Push Notification stopped working.

Hi, my iPad device has stopped receiving Push Notification for my application. There is no Socket connection Exception at the server. Also, the same app runs fine on 2 other devices with same profile and Push Notification is received. How can I find out if there is some problem with the device or Apple Push Notification server (APNs) has stopped sending the Notifications.

    I noticed some problems:
    1. The command serveradmin settings mail:imap:notification_server_port showed port number 5218, while jabberd_notification is running on 5219. I was able to change this permanently to 5219 by exporting settings in server admin, change them and import them again.
    2. The value of notification:secret above was the same as in the config files in /etc/jabberd_notification/, but the value resulting from the command
    serveradmin settings mail:imap:notification_server_password
was different and did not occur in the config files. Is it meant to be different?
This value of mail:imap:notification_server_password happens to be determined by an entry in the keychain. So I used the Keychain Access app to change it.
Both changes did not solve my problem, however.
I also could find that from config files in my backups that previously jabberd_notification was running on port 5218. What could have changed it 5219? And might this be the reason that push_notify discards all messages?
    I would appreciate any suggestions!

  • Facebook Notifications Stopped Working on iPad 3

The push notifications stopped working on my iPad 3 since yesterday. Anyone knows anything about it? All my settings is just the same as they were before. I didn't changed anything. I reinstalled the app several times, rebooted my device, i did EVERYTHING i could, but just the facebook notifications isn't working anymore.

You aren't the only one. I now have NO sound at all in FB with YouTube or even just uploaded videos. Surely we won't have to wait for an date!

  • Push notifications not working on 4g/cellular data

i have an iphone 5s with latest ios 7.
recently the push notification stopped working under cellular data (lte most of the time, 3g other times). if i turn on wifi, push notification works fine. in fact if i turn on wifi after a few days i get al the push notification from the past few days.
i have 'background refresh' turned on for al the apps concerned but doesn't seem to have any affect.

Same thing is happening to me when using silent push notifications for my app.  They do not get received on my iPhone 6 when cellular data is being used.  On wifi they get through just fine.  Have you had any feedback on this?

  • Push Notifications not working on any app (Whatsapp, Beejive, Mail) after update 5.1.1, Help!

I'm gonna try to be clear with my problem. I have a Gmail Account working on Microsoft Exchange, for IM messaging I'm using Beejive IM with Push and I'm also using Whatsapp.  Before Updating it to iOS 5.1.1 all Push notifications were working flawless, however, after I upgraded it to 5.1.1, I began having troubles. After 1 minute of having the Iphone locked, I don't get any push notification, nor on the email, nor on the Whatsapp, neither on the Beejive. If I unlock it and I re-open one of them, for ex, I go to check my contact list on Beejive, I get all the mails, and all the instant msgs that people had sent to me after I locked my iPhone; it's like, my iPhone was locked for 30 minutes. In those 30 minutes people sent me 4 msgs on whatsapp, 4 msgs on beejive and 4 mails. Once I unlock my iPhone and I go to one of the 3 apps (mail, whatsapp or beejive), I get the 12 items (4 msg from whatsapp, 4 msgs from beejive and 4 mails) at that exactly time. It's crazy, it's like, with this new update push notifications got disabled for every app or what happened to my iPhone on this upgrade? I really need help. WIthout Push, none of them apps works cool for me. I'm using Iphone 4 on a 3G network.
Ps: I tried restoring it x3, I unistalled the apps, mail, etc and nothing worked.
PS2: If someone is using whatsapp or beejive im with push on the new iOS 5.1.1 and push notifications are working good for them, please let me know it so I will know it's my iPhone hardware problem to bring it to technical service
    Thanks in advance

    SAME PROBLEM
The Apple store are trying to say they know nothing of this problem,  they know that if  you delete your yahoo mail and then add the account again then push notification works for a day.  So they do that for you, but won't listen when you tell them that it won't be working by the next day! This is to get you out of the shop.  They don't have an answer to why your other notifications aren't working (like alerts etc) even though you have push on.
So what are we to do?  The main point for me getting an iPhone was being able to be alerted when I received an email as I am out and about all day!
How can we get somebody in Apple to admit this problem and find a resolve for it before we all have to go buy a phone that will notify you of your email, messages ans alert?

  • Email Notifications stop working on all of my forms.  Help?

Email Notifications stop working on all of my forms.  Help?

This may be an indication that your incoming mail server has started treating all of those messages as SPAM, and is deleting them. Try setting those messages go to an outside e-mail account, submit a test submission of your form, and see what happens. It might at least help in tracking down the problem. If you find that the messages go to an outside account, work with your Postmaster to get the messages coming from FormsCentral whitelisted. It might still be something else, but this is something you can try to narrow the possibilities.
    Hope that helps,
    Brian

  • I cannot get push notifications to work for viber.

Initially when I installed the Viber app I believe I ignored the push notification screen that the app was prompting me for. In all my endeavors to uninstall and reinstall I never did see this prompting screen again. I have tried everything suggested to get push notifications to work for this app but to no avail. I have reinstalled the app and rebooted my phone and uninstalled the app and rebooted the phone with every possible combination. I successfully sent push notifications from the suggested app Ipush test. I have a iPhone 4s. With latest software 5.0.1. I'll appreciate any suggestions. My carrier is Verizon.

    Hi,
Which operating system are you running on?
Are you upgrading from a previous version of Photoshop elements or is this your first?
Are you trying to load the organizer or the editor or do both fail?

  • Apple push as stopped working

I have this message when i shut down itunes"apple push as stopped working" since i download itunes 11, alos my remote doesn't work properly

    See this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/message/16502356
To summarize that thread, a workaround for this problem is to set APSDaemon.exe to always run as an administrator. Here's how to do it in Windows 7 (Vista should be almost exactly the same).
Browse to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support"
    Right-click on APSDaemon.exe
Under the Compatibility tab, check "Run this program as an administrator"

  • Why are AOL push notifications not working with OS 6?

After installing IOS6 I am unable to get my AOL Push notifications to work on my Iphone4 or Ipad2.  I did try to delete the accounts and then installed them again.  After that I re-booted each device, but no luck.  Is this a problem others are having?
    Thanks,
