  • How do i clear push pins from the maps

For an iphone5 how do i delete push pins from the maps; i have deleted bookmarks and "recent" but still have a pushpin i cannot get rid of?

I had the same question as the OP -- thanks, Tigerlili1, your explicit directions really helped!
But why is this important info nowhere to be found in Maps Help? I read Maps Help thoroughly (what little there is of it), and there was not a word about this, that I could see.
    Thanks again.

  • Strange locations pinned on iPhone map

How does one get pinned location sites on their (iPhone) map app when they weren't there and didn't drop a pin to mark? In addition was like 6 times at one location in a day , according to the date given.

    Hello Mesmereyes,
Pins can be dropped on the map (in the Maps app) by touching and holding on the screen. A pin can be dropped at any location at any time, regardless of your current location.
Manually mark a location. Touch and hold the map until the dropped pin appears.

  • Multiple push pins in iOS maps app?

I would like to chart all the sites I plan to visit on my vacation this weekend.  Is there any way to load all points of interest in so i can select between the pins to navigate?

The map app seems to only want 1 pin at a time.  Spend some time in the app store.  Try the free maps+ app. And see if it does what you want.  The free app supports 3 pins, and if it works to your liking, you can upgrade to a fuller version.  There are a lot of map apps to check out.

  • Ios 7, photos app, push pin

Hello all.  In the iOS 7 Photos app, how can I get back the Push Pins in the map?  iOS 6, had the "Places" that showed you push pins.  Perfect for showing off where I took the photos on the map.  Now, in iOS 7, it displays photos.....  Anyone know of a workaround or another app that does this?

Maybe this screenshot will help.  This is what I'm talking about.

  • Is there anyway to populate the Apple map with push pins ie customer lists

Is there anyway to populate the Apple or Google map on my iPhone 5 with push pins that will stay there?  For example I would like to populate with all of my customers around the country to help me quickly find them when I am on the road.

The pins don't stay there, but you can bookmark pin positions, and then drop a pin on the desired customer's location by selecting the customer from the bookmarks list.

  • Can the iphone maps display more than one pin at the same time?

For example, on a recent trip to New York I preloaded bookmarks of all the places I wanted to visit into the iPhone Maps. I then wanted to see where they all were in relation to one another so I could decide which one to go to next (MOMA, Guggenheim, Metroplitan Museum of Art for example). Is it possible to have the map display them all at the same time?

Are you sure about that Andrew. I see no option to toggle on all my bookmarked pins. I can pick one to show and it shows up. But if I pick another, the previous one will go away. Only doing a search for stuff in an area will Google Maps show multiple pins, but I see no way of making all your saved bookmarks show up.
Did it on mine just now but I also did a very small location here in Sacramento. Dropped a pin in 1 city, Bookmarked, Dropped a few others and bookmarked at least 6 cities in the general Sacramento area, zoomed out just a bit and saw 6 red Pins. Which are all bookmarked.
If I could snap a photo of my screen I would post it.

  • Stuck with the big red push pin

I just received my iPhone the other day. While experimenting with the Maps function, I searched for a city but now can't figure out how to delete it. I can't seem to get rid of the big red push pin.
Note: I haven't bookmarked the location. I simply want to get rid of an old search.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Thanks for your reply, but fortunately, that's not quite true. I figured out the solution. If anyone else is curious, here it is.
To delete a search result in the Maps function:
    1. Tap the text bar at the top of the screen.
    2. Tap the small grey "x" at the far right of the text box. This clears the current search.
    2. Tap the greyed-out map area just below the text box.
    That's it!

  • How to fix an incorrect address in iPhone maps

My customers are getting very frustrated because iPhone maps takes them 7 miles away from my business to another town.
I have reported the problem MANY times on the iPhone to no avail.
My correct business address is: Wash 'N Wags Pet Grooming 4735 Lake Michigan Drive NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49534
Please let me know what I need to do in order to make this correction.
    Thanks,
    Ray

There are so many people that have the problem of reporting issues that never get fixed. It is amazing a company with so many resources, can't follow a process of:
acknowledging receipt of a reported issue (via automated mail)
have a team that investigates whether genuine
have a team that finds out what causing problem and have it rectified
I understand that Apple may get numerous requests, but it is no excuse. They should do better. 1 person should be able to fix 100's of issues a day. As an Apple shareholder, and someone who has reported a pin misplacement virtually everyday since Apple maps was loaded on the iphone I find it disgusting. I just hope that Apple pulls it's finger out, and starts getting stuff fixed.

  • Iphone maps use cases

Apple's iPhone maps application has some very nice graphics, but I've found it awkward to use at times. I would like to start a constructive discussion of what we, as users, want from the map application. Usually, the best way to start this kind of discussion is with a cooperative brainstorm, inventing little scenarios where we would like the map application to answer a question or solve a problem.
    Here are some examples:
    - I feel lost, where am I in relation to surrounding streets and businesses?
    - I'm in a strange city. How do I get from A to B?
    - Where am I on the path from A to B?
    - I'm in a familiar city, and I want to optimize my travel from A to B. What is the fastest route? What is the shortest route? What is the best way to go if I really like driving on avenue C?
    - I'm trying to get to work, and I'm using surface streets to bypass stop and go traffic on the freeways. Where am I in relation to traffic jams on nearby freeways?
    - Where is the nearest XYZ (coffee, sushi, hospital, police)?
    - I'm in a traffic jam. How long will it last?
    - My car broke down and I'm in the middle of nowhere. What can I do?
    - I've really enjoyed my time here. How can I remember where this is and what was so special about it?
    - I'm feeling a bit lonely. I wonder if any of my friends are close by and interested in joining me?
    - I'm going to be late picking up the kids at soccer practice. Is one of the other soccer parents close enough to pick them up today?

Many of the points you mention are addressed.

Find me gives you an approximate location, comparing that to the street signs, and/or satellite view.
    - I'm in a strange city. How do I get from A to B?
You can look up directions, either from two addresses or from the current location to an address.
    - Where am I on the path from A to B?
If you have a route, you can view it turn by turn. Find me combined with a route being displayed can also be used to location yourself.
    - I'm in a familiar city, and I want to optimize my travel from A to B. What is the fastest route? What is the shortest route? What is the best way to go if I really like driving on avenue C?
The iPhone map application doesn't support moving the route. However, it will route around traffic data when available. When I was traveling to MacWorld from somewhere north of Sacramento, when I re-entered my route it adjusted it based on traffic.
    - I'm trying to get to work, and I'm using surface streets to bypass stop and go traffic on the freeways. Where am I in relation to traffic jams on nearby freeways?
Traffic does show sections of traffic that are stopped. The traffic data is provided to Google from a variety of private and public entities. Google then provides the map data. If your area doesn't usually show anything with the traffic button, you can look at San Francisco.
    - Where is the nearest XYZ (coffee, sushi, hospital, police)?
In the search box put in coffee and it will look for business/places with coffee in their name centered on the current view. You can also put coffee and a zip/postal code or city,state/province to search. That was the example shown in the "Calamari" commercial that aired before the iPhone was released.
    - I'm in a traffic jam. How long will it last?
It may not show how long, but can show the general area
    - My car broke down and I'm in the middle of nowhere. What can I do?
Find me will give a general location, and from that you can call a tow company.
    - I've really enjoyed my time here. How can I remember where this is and what was so special about it?
Drop a pin, and then you can enter in the name of the bookmark. In the name field you can include keywords to remind you of the experience. It doesn't link to pictures directly. You could also create a contact for that address, and apply the picture to the contact.
    - I'm feeling a bit lonely. I wonder if any of my friends are close by and interested in joining me?
    - I'm going to be late picking up the kids at soccer practice. Is one of the other soccer parents close enough to pick them up today?
There are some potential privacy concerns with such a feature. What if your wife found out your present to her was from Tiffany's because you spent 3 hours there? What if you actually waiting to pick something up for your boss or coworker? Sure, it might be the material for a sitcom, but in real life wouldn't be so funny.
The best place to submit ideas like these would be:

As always, my opinions are my own.
    Hope this helps,

  • IPhone maps favourites does not open the location

    Hello ,
I have problem with iPhone maps i hope some one can help me.
I have saved many places at favourites under different names. Now when I select one of these location the maps does not go to location , its like only searching by the saved name as its the location name.
Is there a way to get them back ?
or I can get the coordinates from these favourite ?
    thank you

    Sinuosalice,
If you open an email with an attachment in Mail, there should be a rectangle with a dashed line border and an arrow pointing down. This means you can download it - to do that, just tap it.
Instead, if it's already downloaded, there will be a bar on the screen with the name of the attachment, icon for the type of file, size, and an arrow (>) on the right. Tap the bar to open the attachment.
    Hope this helps,
    O.C.

  • HT4061 How do I refresh the Find My iPhone map now that they have "upgraded" the product? There is no longer a refresh button.

Until this week there was a button next to the device identification that allowed you to refresh the Find My iPhone map.  That button is now gone and I cannot see a way to refresh the map without exiting and reentering Find My iPhone.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

You need to go to the part where you see your device on the map and then there is a little refresh button next to the name of your device on the map page.

  • Location search problem with iPhone map

I am posting this to see if anybody else have the same problem, and hopeful a solution as well.
The problem is that iPhone map started from a 3ird party software does not use my current location by default. For example, I did a search for pizza in google search. The google app will give me a list of local pizza places in their page. But if I click on show all results, it brings up the map app and displays a few pizza places around the world. But shouldn't it give me results in my local area instead? At first, I thought this is a google problem. But I see the same problem later with another voice search app. Have anyone experience this with their iPhone?
Thanks in advance to any insight on this.

    I've already done it.
Do you think this will help?
I doubt that Apple will listen to us. Users with a problem that occurs quite a lot.

I used my iPhone maps it works very well. Is there an application for the iPad that could be used on a boat?

    Indeed :-)
This forum is riddled with questions by users that cannot get their computer to do what they want, *despite* the fact they use a very precise and (usually) unambiguous method of telling it want they want it to do -- a programming language. Making it comprehend *natural* language is, by any way of measuring, a number of degrees more difficult.
That said: in what way would a computer program (advanced or "dumb") be able to help the OP? Spell check is one -- but it's not a *fact* that anything written *badly* equals nonsense. In politics, for example, the most eloquent speakers still manage to make a fool of themselves :D The same goes for "grammar". Of course, bad grammar is more difficult to understand -- EVEN for a human. So a computer is bound to fail on that as well.
Fact checking then? I usually can't even find what I want in one go with Almighty Google (which seems to turn things around: if it cannot find "enough" web pages with the exact phrase you asked it, it automatically assumes you are interested in synonyms, antonyms, homonyms, and other *unrelated* stuff! Yeah THANK you but I want to find what I typed in!)
A good starting point would be to define in more detail what this hypothetical software *ought* to do -- that needs to be a bit more concrete than "I want it to do my job for me."
