Push proxy settings from Intune

It is possible to define and force proxy settings form Intune to mobile devices?

You can define proxy settings when you deploy VPN profiles via Intune (specific operating systems only). Have a look

  • How to disable proxy settings from ipad

hi i am using airtel india  sim for acessing internet from ipad mini. but my memberships in some accounts has been suspended saying that due to proxy use. but i  did not use any proxy settings n i m using internet via airtel internet. in this regard, i wnt to remove the proxy settings from my device. can any one help me on advising where to find the proxy settings and how to disable them? plz...............

Proxy settings on the iPad relate only to WiFi (Settings > WiFi). It's possible your mobile operator is using a Proxy. You should talk to them to see if that's the case.

  • JWS not Inheriting PROXY settings from Netscape

    Hi!
We are using JWS 1.0.1_01 to launch our application, which needs the proxy settings of the user to connect via SSL to our servers.
We do not have any problems when the user does not use proxies to access the Internet or uses Internet Explorer as their default browser.
For users with Netscape 4.* as their default browsers, many users are not able to launch our application, as it can not find the proxy settings.
They can not download the sample applications of Java Web Start either.
They work fine if they make Internet Explore as their default browser or set the proxy manually in Java Web Start.
As our customers use some sort of scripts for proxy configurations we do not want to set the proxy manually in Java Web Start.
We want to use the proxy settings of the browser.
So I want to know if there is a known issue with Java Web Start not detecting the proxies automatically from Netscape.
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks
    -Nawaz

Basically web start can only pick up the settings of whatever
happens to be the current Windows default browser. If that's Netscape then the Netscape settings will be used.
Since your clients are using a script to specify the proxy settings you should also be aware that there's an issue with web start 1.0_01 where it locates the proxy setting based on the first occurrence of the word "Proxy" in that script. This can cause issues if the first proxy
listed is for https only of even if the first occurrence of "proxy" is
    inside a comment.

  • Removing Proxy Settings from a Networked Macbook

    Help needed.
Since updating my operating system (10.8.2), I have been unable to access the internet at home. Whenever I try to open a page the message appears saying that it has been unable to contact the proxy server. However, I have already removed the ticks from use proxy for http and https and I have tried to set up two locations one work where proxy settings are needed and home where they are not. Nonetheless, when I try to access the internet the same proxy message is returned.
    Any advice greatfully received.

  • ProxySelector does not pull proxy settings from configuration file?

    Hi everyone,
I try to use class ProxySelector to find proxy settings on Windows XP. When a proxy server URL and port is set explicitly in the "Internet Options" control panel, this proxy setting is detected by class ProxySelector - no problem.
When a proxy configuration file is set in the control panel, class ProxySelector returns no proxy setting (i.e. DIRECT) - PROBLEM
(yes, the configuration file works otherwise, i.e. the proxy is pulled when using Firefox or Internet Explorer
and yes, the proxy works too, i.e. when using the proxy url and port directly, HTTP can be used in Java too).
Does anyone have a hint on how to find out the proxy server url and port to use for HTTP out of Java, when the proxy is set through a configuration file as described above?
Thanks a lot for any help
    Ulrich

    Hi again,
I found a solution in the mean time: ProxySelector does return the local "browser settings" for a proxy server (i.e. proxy type and address) when an application is started with Java Web Start. When started with Java Web Start, a correct proxy type and address is also returned, when a ".pac" file is set in the browser settings.
So, when an application needs to determine a proxy configuration, although it might be started locally one needs to create a JNLP file and launch respective application (locally) using Java Web Start.

  • Proxy settings moved from User to Machine not removing user settings.

    Hi All,
I have recently moved our company's proxy settings from User based to Machine based as we were having issues after moving from an internal proxy to a hosted external proxy.  What we found was after turning off the internal some users were no longer
    getting external internet.
After some investigation we found they were still getting old proxy settings on login and after a GPupdate.exe or normal gpupdate from the server the correct settings would apply. (happened to users logging on for the 1st time) To prevent this from happening
I moved the proxy settings to the Computer GPO and it all appeared to work in the test GPO and in live.  But a few days later we got some calls logged to our help desk stating they don't get external internet.  After some more
investigation we found that they are still getting the user policy applied to them even though it has all been removed from the User GPO.
I found if I remove the proxy settings it doesn't always apply to users but if I add info in it always updates to the user.  What can be causing this?  Some of these users have local admin rights and I thought at first it might be something they
did but now we are getting non admin users with these issues.
We are using IE 10 and have set the original Proxy settings using the GUI internet control panel and are now applying the proxy settings via Registry updates in the Computer GPO and enabled "Make Proxy settings per-machine" object.  Our SOE
is Win 7 ent x64 with IE 10 (1500 units) and Win 8.1 ent x64 IE11 (100 units) And some XP SP3 that are in the process of migrating to Win7.
Any help on this would be much appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Nat

    Hi Nat,
you wrote: I found if I remove the proxy settings it doesn't always apply to users but if I add info in it always updates to the user.
Does that also happen für new users now after you changed your settings to the computer settings?
I guess you used group policy preferences; that worked as "one time settings", so as long as the policy exists it will be merged with the Settings on the users computer. Please find a detailed description on
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn581922.aspx
So you now have 2 configuration items: your policy as well as the users registry. So to remove that you already moved the Settings from the user configuration to your Computers configuration (that worked as you described) while the Settings
in their HKCU are still there - you Need to either implement another  policy to remove that, or you can set it empty.
Don't set it to "not configured" as that will keep your old setting deployed before.
Sometimes I found in more easy to implement another user preference that removed the Registry key with the Registry keys to remove a Setting instead of Publishing a "remove Setting" configuration.

  • VPN Proxy Settings With Third Party Software

Im just wondering if this is possible. When I go to university I've setup a VPN connection and inside of that I've put proxy settings for the available protocols. HTTP, socks, etc.
Well all software built into os x (itunes, safari) use these proxy settings automatically when connected to the VPN. So when I go to uni I click one button to connect and that's it.
What Im wondering: Is it possible for third party software (Firefox, IRC clients) to grab these proxy settings from the VPN? At the moment I'm having to manually add the proxies to these apps every time I go to uni, then disable them when I go home.

Many users have found Authoxy to be the solution for most proxy issues.

  • Detecting client proxy settings

    Dear All,
Can anyone tell me how to detect client proxy settings from a java application (not in a browser).
    I tried System.getProperties().getProperty("http.proxyhost") without success.
Our application is distribuited using Java Web Start technology and needs to know proxy settings to connect to the remote host thru an unknown proxy server.
Solution to this problem is very important and urgent! Please help me!

  • Flash Plugin not using Firefox's proxy settings

    Hello there
after observing that we cannot watch some videos (for example

    or <
    http://news.zdnet.com/2422-13569_22-204568.html>)
behind our company's proxy and firewall, I talked to our network
admins and they showed me that on some websites (not YouTube or the
like) it seems like the Firefox Flash plugin doesn't use the proxy
settings from Firefox but rather tries to directly connect to the
respective server, which of course times out. Using Internet
Explorer works perfectly. Has anyone had this problem and knows of
    any work arounds or fixes?
    Hope someone an help me/us.
    Greetings from Germany
    Michael

I am facing a similar issue with the flash content on my website (appnina.com). Any flash content is not displayed on my website.
The problem is because of using flash plugin in Mozilla Firefox (21.0 - updated). The flash plugin does not get activated by default. That is whenever opening the site, the flash content is not displayed. It asks to click the activate button. This activation should be one time, however it always asks to do so whenever opening the site.
I just checked and found that this flash problem is not specific to my website but in general (youtube as well).
Let me put the screen shot of the same.
Any permanent solution to this. Let me check if I can delete the old plguin and download it again to solve this issue.
The problem seems to be because of compatibility problem of firefox with flash.
PS: Let me know if I need to start a new discussion thread on this ?

  • Reading Web Start proxy settings into appliaction.

    Hi,
I have a Web Start application that makes HTTP connections. How can I read proxy settings (those from Preferences->General tab) from a program - is there any API to read Web Start preferences?
    Michal

You should be able to see the proxy settings from the System properties. The relevant properties would be proxySet, proxyHost and proxyPort. A good explanation of the proxy properties is at http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/javatips/jw-javatip42.html.
You can verify which System properties are set in JNLP apps by running http://www.puppethead.com/java/apps/Cicerone.jnlp which is a small app for showing such information.

  • Proxy settings disabled

I have to connect to the internet through a proxy, but when I open the Advanced tab in settings, changing the proxy settings is disabled. I am running Safari 3.0.1

If you read the Safari for Windows download site, several features are clearly listed as coming soon. These are:
    "Support for International users
    International text input methods
Advanced text (contextual forms, international scripts)
    Localized menus and help
    NTLM support
    PAC file auto-detection
    FTP directory listings
Link to proxy settings from Safari (Safari respects the proxy settings in the Windows Internet control panel)
    Cookie management
    LiveConnect support
    Tooltips
    Spell checking
    Printing page numbers, titles, margins"
You will notice that proxy setting support is one of these features.

  • Shockwave player and proxy settings

    Hi,
all clients our company must use a web-proxy to connect with the internet.
If anyone want to watch a stream with rtmp://....swf , nothing happens.
RTMP should work with port 1935 and fallback to 443, 80.
Problem: shockwave ignores the proxy settings from browser and Device. He tries to connect
directly without proxy, whitch is not working of course..
Are there any options to configure the proxy settings for Shockwave or is this a bug?

  • No proxy but pc still keeps settings from wsus gpo even now it is not in domain

    the situation
I deployed a new image the computer was not a domain member. Before connecting to domain I connected the machine to
dedicated Internet connection (no corporate proxy) for making full updated from Microsoft site. Because I want to capture it back for future domain deployments and have maximum updates to date in the image.
Update failed. Checked Direct Access (NO PROXY). Refreshed Software Updates folder.
Windows update always showed the name of previous proxy server with the error. Local GPO were not configured.
Found one entry with the name of proxy in the registry. Tried different things. still not works. No name in Windows update log but deffinetely Windows Update agent still keeps some settings from previous GPO.
Before I wipe this thing, please
see the last WindowsUpdate. May be there is a solution...
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Is this image used to be a WSUS client? According to the logs, the client seems to try to connect a WSUS server.
To remove the WSUS client setting, we have two options:
    Set HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU\UseWUServer to 0.
    Delete entire HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\
Note: Serious problems might occur if we modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, we can restore the registry if a problem
    occurs.
    Best Regards.
