Push Settings - Email Messages

Hi,
I am running Groupwise Mobile Server 3 in a Suse Linux 11sp1 virtual environment. Everything works perfectly except that the "filter setting" in Push Setting-Email Messages seems to have no effect.....
Any ideas would be great.

mmmh, not much support here ;) Anyway, I open up port 3102 on the firewall but the "filter" still does not work. Any new developments on your side?

  • HT5858 I have had difficulty launching sites from within my email messages.  So, in trying to revert to the default settings on my iPad I went into "Settings" and reset everything.  Now, I have a black screen with a white apple and a white line!  What do

For the last severl weeks I have had difficulty launching sites from within my email messages.  Thinking that I may have gone into "Settings" and set something wrong, I decided to reset to the default settings.  So, in "Settings" I chose reset everything.  Now, when I turn my iPad on all I get is a black screen with the picture of a white apple and a white line below it.  Nothing else works.  What can I do?  Do I need to send this back to Apple to be restored?

You will hopefully be able to restore it yourself. It sounds like you erased all constant and settings rather than resetting all settings. But I'm basing my theory on the fact that you are seeing the Apple logo with the white progress bar (the white line) on the screen. That's what you would see if the software was being reinstalled and then it stopped on you. If that is what happened, you need to restore again and most likely need to use recovery mode.
You can read about recovery mode here.
    Recovery mode - Apple
However ...... If you are seeing the white line when you turn the iPad, let it go for twenty minutes or so, before you try restoring again. There is possibility that the software is still be installed and it can take a while before you see that white line move at all indicating that progress is being made.
Frankly, I don't think that the software is still being installed, but since you didn't say specifically how long the iPad has been like this, it could just be that the software hasn't finished installing yet. If you know better - meaning that it's been like this for hours or longer, then you do need to restore the device.

Before, my email messages would come through automatically and my iPhone would alert me each time an emial message was recevied.   I now have to open my mail in-box and wait for my email messages to download.  Do I need to reset or change my mail settings?  This issue is delaying my abiliy to receive and respond to email messages in a timely manner.
    Please Help.

Hi Chris.  Thanks, for the suggestions re: my email issues.  They were helpful and yes I did check all items you referenced.  I even contacted Apple support and spent about 40 minutes on phone checking all settings.  However, after all these efforts, my mail and calendar issues were not resolved.  Apple Support finally recommended deleting the mail account and then reloading it - and it worked!  I am now receiving my emails and calendar appts. in real time again.
Just wanted to share this in case anyone elest has a similar problem with mail/calendar after downloaing i.O.S. 8.1 onto iPhone 5.
    Thanks, again.

  • The email message cannot be sent. Make sure the outgoing email settings for the server are configured properly

i have an issue when loading a workflow. it gives me a following error "The email message cannot be sent. Make sure the outgoing email settings for the server are configured properly". it doesnt send me any alerts and worlflow fails at the end
    with the above error message.

    Hi,
I agree with Bistesh. But after Outgoing e-mail settings are configured properly, if the issue still exists,
It may result from your Anti-Virus. Please refer to the following steps:
Open MCAfee Console and go to Access Protection window.
Click Anti-Virus Standard Protection and edit “prevent mass mailing
    worms from sending emails” rule.
Now we need to know which processes are being blocked therefore we need to check the MCAfee Log located at
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\McAfee\DesktopProtection\AccessProtectionLog.txt
you may find entries of DtExec , DtExecUI and DatabaseMail90, now these processes need to be entered in the exclusion list of selected rule .
Reset the IIS And SharePoint Timer service to check if this works for you.
Here are some similar issues with you, you can use as a reference:

  • Default Settings on Email Message

    Hi all,
The fax and SMS checkbox are automatically checked on the reply email message for some users. It appears to be user related as it only happens to some users.  How can we change the settings so that the SMS and fax checkbox are unchecked when replying to an email?
    Thanks,
    Jane

    Hi Jane,
You may check those user profiles to see if any defaults have been set.  If not, just uncheck the ticks and to verify if those setting could be back to normal.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

  • I use Blackberry and normally the hotmail is pushed to my Blackberry but not it won't work and I got e-mail to leave email messages on the client sever (mozilla) but I don't know how to do it.

This is what I have been told to do.If you use an email client (e.g. Microsoft(R) Outlook(R), Mozilla(R) Thunderbird(TM), etc.) to access your [email protected] messages, change your email client settings to leave your email messages on the server. If the email client does not leave email messages on the server, the BlackBerry(R) Internet Service may not be able to deliver them to your BlackBerry(R) device.

    Thunderbird support is over here.

  • How do I tell Firefox to leave email messages on the server when my Tools Options doesn't show Account Settings?

I am trying to get my emails forwarded to my Blackberry. I have set up my Blackberry with the new email destination, which Blackberry confirmed. I receive the emails are not being forwarded to my phone. When I consulted Blackberry's help, it said that I needed to go into my server setting and select the option to leave email messages on the server. I work in Firefox, and when I look under Tools, there is no option to do this.

Firefox doesn't do email, it's a web browser.
If you are using Firefox to access web mail, you need to seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.
If your problem is with Thunderbird, see this forum for support.

  • Iphone 5 not pushing exchange emails - IOS 7

Right before IOS 7 was released my phone quit pushing exchange emails.  All push settings were correct but emails would not come to my phone until I opened the mail program.  Then, they would all flood in at once.
The forums had a few temporary fixes (none worked) but the consensus was to wait until IOS 7 came out and hope it fixed it.  I updated to IOS 7 and still have the same problem.  I'm set to push, but I'm not getting messages until I open the mail program and it pulls in my emails.

OK, after hours of troubleshooting I post this, and within seconds I discover the answer on my own.  Gotta be one of Murphy's laws!
I discovered that in Settings, Notification Center, Phone, the Alert Style setting was Alerts, and the Alert sound was set to my ringtone.  I believe this was the way the phone was originally set up (the default) but I'm not sure.  Anyway just for grins (read: thoroughness in troubleshooting) I changed the Alert Style to None, saved it and tested by attempting to call the phone.  VOILA!!!!!!!  I received the call, loud and clear, no issues at all.  This must be a bug in the new version of the iOS.  Anyway, problem resolved and thanks to anyone who had already seen this and was trying to figure it out!  MRADTEX

  • PUSH/PULL EMAIL

I have some push and pull emails. If I turn on the "push" settings, will the iphone still automatically fetch my "Pull" emails every xx minutes or do I need to do that manually.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

If you are accessing an account that supports Push access with the iPhone, which is a Yahoo account created with the Yahoo account preset, a MobileMe account, and an Exchange account accessed via ActiveSync, you can enable or disable Push access with the account settings. With an account that supports Push access for received messages, the options with the account settings for accessing new messages is Push, Fetch, or Manually.
If you have Push enabled for the account settings, any new messages received at the incoming mail server will be "pushed" to your iPhone by the incoming mail server without you having to check the account for new messages.

  • Why Outlook email messages show unreadable characters

When you receive a new email in Outlook, you may see unreadable characters in the email message body. This issue could be caused by one of the following reasons on Outlook client side:
The email you received is converted to plain text format or a different encoding by a virus scanner.
This always happens when you are using characters (Such as apostrophes, double quotes, dashes, and ellipsis) supported by the "Smart Quotes" feature. When the email you received is converted to plain text format or a different encoding by a virus
scanner, the character is converted from the ASCII character to a Unicode character, which is not supported on the recipient’s side.
To prevent this issue from happening, we can turn off the “Smart Quotes” Feature in Outlook:
    1. Open Outlook 2013.
    2. Click File > Options > Mail.
    3. Click Spelling and AutoCorrect button.
    4. In the Editor Options window, click AutoCorrect Options button to open the AutoCorrect dialog.
    5. Click AutoFormat tab, and then clear the check box before “Straight quotes” with “smart quotes” under Replace heading.
    6. Click OK.
The issue may be related to font substitution when a change is made to the Web Options in Microsoft Word.
If a change is made to the Web Options in Microsoft Word, registry data under the following key may be configured incorrectly:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Word\Internet\Fonts
This problem has been seen to occur when the Latin string value under the \Fonts key was empty (no value).
We can check the Web Options setting in Word via:
    1. Start Word.
    2. Go to File > Options > Advanced.
    3. Scroll down to the General section, click Web Options button.
    4. Switch to Font tab.
To resolve the problem, we need to delete the \Fonts registry key. To do this, please follow:
    1. Exit Word.
    2. Press Windows key + R to open the Run command, type regedit and press Enter.
    3. Navigate to:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Word\Internet\Fonts
    4. Right-click the Font key and select Delete.
    5. Click Yes and exit Registry Editor.
The sender used an e-mail program that did not mark messages with a language encoding (character set), or marked messages with an incorrect encoding setting.
In this case, we will see unreadable characters when we open the received message in our Outlook. For example, European regional characters (like German) require UTF-8 encoding protocol. So if the encoding in your environment is set to ASCII, the regional
    characters will not be available.
To resolve this issue, we need to change the encoding in Outlook to which will display your message correctly.
    1. Double-click to open the message you received.
    2. Click Actions button in the Move group under Message tab.
    3. Click Other Actions > Encoding.
    4. Click More and select the correct encoding setting for the email.
    5. After you finish reading the message, close the message, and click Yes button to save changes to the message.
When we send an email with Outlook, we can set Outlook to automatically select encoding for outgoing email messages to increase the possibility that the recipient receiving the message will see all the characters rendered properly, even if they run older
e-mail programs. By default, Outlook 2013 will automatically select an optimal encoding for outgoing e-mail messages. We can change the settings here in Outlook 2013: File > Options > Advanced > International Options section.
Something you may need to know when you set the encoding settings:
    * The Unicode (UTF-8) character enables the complete range of characters on all computers. It’s the official IANA code for the UTF-8 character encoding.
    * Western European (ISO) and Western European (Windows) character set can be read by almost all computers.
    * If you are using a language other than English, you must choose the correct character set for that language, or the characters you need will not be displayed correctly.

The "problem" is not really a problem. I send and receive emails fine. But the in the panel between the Inbox (message queue) and the reading pane this is displayed:
From Mozilla Support Forum <[email protected]> (white star)
Subject Toad-Hall posted an answer to your question "Why do received email messages show they are addressed to an address other than my own?"
Reply to [email protected] (white star)
    To [email protected] yellow star)
cfortso@gmail is the address of one of my contacts.
This glitch is not really bothersome, I just can't imagine why it happens.

  • Blackberry 8520 keeps repeatedly downloading the same email messages and facebook notifications

My Blackberry 8520 has all of a sudden started downloading the same email addresses and facebook notifications, that I have already read, I tried deleting them totally and also deleted from my computer inbox, but it just downloaded the next lot in my inbox repeatedly instead.  Sometimes it says I have 50 unread messages, which is the same 7 or 8 messages over and over again, showing as unread.
I have rebooted device several times and don't know what else to do now, can anyone help please?
    Thanks very much

Hi and welcome to the forums!
Have you changed the settings for messages on your account on the providers website?
    (Gmail, Yahoo, etc.)
If that's not it try the following:
Go to options advanced options, Host Routing Tables, click to enter. DO NOT click on any listing.
Press menu key, and select register now.
You will get a verification message. Then go to email settings and send service books.
I would suggest  logging into the carriers BIS site via PC if you can.
You will get an email per account. Repeat the battery pull and see if the problem is
    resolved.
Let us know how it goes!
    Thanks,

  • Email Messages Have Started Arriving as Both Email and SMS

All of a sudden, all of my email messages have started arriving on my iPhone as both mail and SMS messages. This happened yesterday (Mon., 3/3/2008) evening. I had downloaded the latest iPhone software the previous day and had had no initial problems in the first 24-plus hours. I haven't intentionally changed any settings. Does anyone have any idea what's going on?

Mine, too. Although I hope by posting this "all's well" message that I don't cause it to start again. Regardless, good to know I wasn't alone with this issue. Thanks!
