Push Sub-Folders in Exchange 2007 on iPad
I have a WiFi 32Gb iPad. I have successfully set up Exchange and the Inbox pushes mail perfectly when connected. The problem is that one has to touch a sub-folders for that sub-folder to get mail. This was a problem on the iPhone which apple resolved and I know under mail settings on the iPhone they have a select folders to push mail to option but it does not appear to be on the mail settings in the iPad. Am I missing where this option is on the iPad as I would be surprised if Apple had fixed the problem for the iPhone to make the same mistake on the iPad again !
I just resolved for me. When creating a new email account, Yahoo Mail Plus (Business email) says to select "other" instead of selecting Yahoo, then they give you the pop account settings. Well, that gives you your inbox only, but no subfolders. On a whim, I tried to setup a new email account and selecting Yahoo, but entering my business email address and pw and it worked. All the folders are there. Weird. Hard to say if it's a Yahoo prob or iPad mail prob.

Public folders from exchange 2007 to exchange 2013
HI I am new to exchange, i am planning to do the migration of Exchange 2007SP3 UR10 to Exchange 2013 CU7, I want to move public folders from exchange 2007 to exchange 2013. wht is the procedure to move and wht are the commands to know how many public folders
i have.I just want to be aware before the installation so that later i can avoid issues.please do guide meHi Quiett,
please find how to move public folders on ttp://www.msexchange.org/articles-tutorials/exchange-server-2013/migration-deployment/migrating-public-folders-exchange-2013-part1.html
You can replace your servers names and follow exactly the proedure that is shown there. I strongly suggest to read also the 2nd page (replication) before you start. Please be aware of
Set-OrganizationConfig –PublicFoldersLockedForMigration $True , so you cannot change the source side whle migrating.

How do I create sub folders for imported pictures in iPad albums?
I have imported some photos to my iPad for a presentation. The pictures were in different folder under the main folder. After I import the main folder the sub folders are deleted and now all the picture are in one folder. How can I keep the original main folder with sub folders when importing pictures in iPad photo?
Not within the Photos app, but there are other photo management apps in the App Store which allow you to create albums within albums e.g. Photo Manager Pro - that app lets you copy photos to/from the Photos app and copy photos via iTunes : Photo Manager Pro help pages.

Unable to access public folders on Exchange 2007 when user mailbox is on Exchange 2013
Hi
I have coexistence with Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2013. I've moved a mailbox to Exchange 2013 and now cannot view the public folders on Exchange 2007. The error message I get is "could not connect to the public folder server. microsoft exchange is
not available. either there are network problems or the exchange server is down for maintenance."
Mailboxes on Exchange 2007 do not have any problems viewing public folders. I can't migrate users to Exchange 2013 until this issue is resolved.
The IIS permissions to the Public virtual directory on Exchange 2007 is set to Intergrated Windows and Basic authentication.Hi northerly,
I recommend you follow the steps below for troubleshooting:
1. Please run the Get-OutlookAnywhere cmdlet to verify the Outlook Anywhere settings on Exchange Server 2013 Client Access servers.
2. If "ExternalHostName" is set, and "ExternalClientAuthenticationMethod" is Negotiate, change "ExternalClientAuthenticationMethod" to something other than Negotiate.
3. If "InternaClientlAuthenticationMethod" is set to Negotiate, and "InternalRequireSSL" is True, change "InternalClientAuthenticationMethod" to something other than Negotiate, or change "InternalRequireSSL" to False.
What's more, here is a helpful KB for your reference.
Users of Exchange Server 2013 or Exchange Online can't open public folders or shared mailboxes on an Exchange 2010 or Exchange 2007 server

Hope my clarification is helpful.
If there are any problems, please feel free to let me know.

Messages located in sub folders do not show in iPad Mail
Using iPad mail with Microsoft Exchange sync works great at the inbox level but any messages that are in sub folders do not show up in Mail on the iPad. All of the sub folders show up but do not show messages. In addition, I am not able to collapse the parent folders, the result is a very long list of empty folders. The exception is emails that I move to the folders on the iPad do show up if the folder is selected on the iPad. Looking for solution.
Has anyone else noticed the following?
I've synchronized with Exchange and am noticing some odd mail behaviour:
- I have folders in my PC Outlook inbox
- when I have mail open on my ipad, and a new message comes in, if I happen to be an a subfolder (example a special folder for messages from my boss or whatever) all the new mail goes to that folder instead of the inbox.
- even weirder, it stays there when I go back to my PC and Outlook.
Not very useful long term since I end up with seriously misfiled mail... -
Won't discover Exchange 2007 on iPad
I give my email address and password on my iMac and discovery works just fine; I am connected email, calendar, and contacts. I do the same on my iPad and it won't verify and asks for the server name. I give the server name and it still won't verify or connect.
Exchange type is Exchange 2007.
any suggestions?I just resolved for me. Problem moving folders on exchange 2007 in mail.app
Hi,
I've got a problem i'm fairly certain is a bug. If I accidentally drag an exchange folder into another folder in Mail, there is no way to drag it back out. I can only drag it into another folder. Let me try to replicate my folder setup here:
Facebook
Personal
Company
Newsletters
eBay
Faxes
Someones Name
Server Messages
LFD Messages
If I want to drag a folder (say Newsletters) out of another folder (Company), my options are a follows:
A) I can drag it into any other unopened folder (It highlights the folders)
or
B) the following lines appear in the lineup
Facebook
Personal
Company
o---------
Newsletters
o---------
eBay
Faxes
Someones Name
Server Messages
o----------
LFD Messages
o----------
I would expect full length lines to appear, such as:
INBOX
o-------------
o-------------
Someones Name
o-------------
Server Messages
o----------
LFD Messages
o----------
o-------------
But the full-width bars do not appear and thus do not allow me to reposition folders or drag a folder out of a subfolder.
The only thing unique about my installation seems to be this:
A) The last folder in the list has a subfolder
B) I've got 16,000+ messages (the darn "server messages" folder!)
Any help would be much appreciated!
I've got a Mac Pro running 10.6.2 with Mail version 4.2 build 1077.I had the same problem with a test install of Exchange 2007.
While making yet another pass through IIS settings, I noticed that the www service was set to run in "IIS 5.0 isolation mode" (Web Sites Properties dialog --> Service tab). After removing the check from the box and restarting IIS, OWA 2007 worked as advertised. Haven't tried ActiveSync yet. -
Removing Public Folders from Exchange 2007
Hello
I am part way through migrating from Exch 2007 to 2010.
All my mailboxes are over and the new server is working as I want it to. The problem has come when trying to un-install the 2007 server. I get the following error:

I've gone round google at least 3 times now reading posts about moving the mailboxes and force-able removing them but nothing works and the folders remain. Below is what I get when trying to follow the standard process of moving them.

Thanks in advance. If you can confirm the PF's have been replicated properly and rehomed to the Exchange 2010 Server then you can just manually remove the Ex2007 PF store, I have had to do this a few times so I could just get the Ex2007 uninstall to proceed.

Managed Default Folders in Exchange 2007 - Urgent Help
Hello All
My requirement is to delete the emails from the inbox older than 5 days for 5 to 10 selected mailboxes. so i have created an new Managed Content Settings under the
inbox from the Organization Managed Default Folders named "Inbox Deletion 5 Days"
Created a new managed Folder Name mailbox Policy and added the Inbox from the Managed Default Folder
Then from server configuration -->Mailbox Server --MRM -->schedule the managed folder assistant via Custom schedule
Added policy in the 10 mailbox properties
Also, i have been forced to update the policy by start-managedfolderassistant - idenity Server name
But the old emails are still there in policy applied mailboxes before 5 days, am able to see emails which was received before 10 days and all.
i restarted the exchange mailbox assistant services and but luck.
Could you please someone help on urgent basisHave you configured the server(s) to log the activity for the managed folders?
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb397218(v=EXCHG.80).aspx
Also, the first time you run the managed folder assistant if doesn't do anything more than "mark" messages. It's only on subsequent running of the MFA that "stuff" actually happens. And it's important to remember that the criterion
used by the MFA is the "modified date", so add that column to the Outlook view of the Inbox on those clients that are affected by the policy. There may be something "touching" the messages that's causing the modified date to change (think
"brick-level backup, for one thing).
The log file will at least show you whether the policy's working and what the MFA thinks of the mailbox folders under the policy.
One other thing -- it's probably not a good idea to use the default "Inbox" folder. Create a new default managed folder named, say, "Inbox Delete after 5 days" and use that in your mailbox policy. That will afford you the flexibility
to have more than one retention policy for the same folder.

Unable to view outlook sub folders on my iPad
THe content of my outlook sub folders have disappeared from my ipad. I can view them on outlook.com and also on my main pc but unable to retrieve them on my ipad. Any ideas on how to view them please?
realNOSfentor wrote:
Hi all
Same here!
The folders still show up on my iPad and iPhone AND i can still move emails into the folders. So in the context of "move email" all the folders show up. But as above, no email folders in the main menu of Mail. I am using an Exchange server too and already setup everything fresh from the start but it did not solve the problem. Looks like nobody tested upgrading an existing Exchange/Apple Mail setup to Mavericks...maybe because Exchange is to exotic. ;-)
Hope this gets fixed soon and I hope it raises some new ideas in terms of QA!

Mail seems to know it's there, as you described, but for some reason just doesn't display it. Honestly, it seems like someone just made an oversight and forgot to put the little arrow in to let us expand folders that have sub-folders. -
Migrating from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013 Public Folders coexistence
Hi all, I'm migrating from Exchange 2007 SP3 to Exchange 2013 SP1.
I have an Exchange 2007 server (Client Access, Hub Transport and Mailbox Server) in Site A, mailboxes and Publics Folders
In another Site in Site B, I have already installed (Client Access and Mailbox Server) Exchange 2013 server.
I am migrating test users, the fact is that users who migrated to Exchange Server 2013 Public folders do not see.
How I can make the migrated users from viewing the Exchange 2007 Public Folders duration coexistence?
Is there a "how to" to migrate Public Folders from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013?
thank you very much
Microsoft Certified IT Professional Server AdministratorHi,
In Exchange 2013, the Public Folder is changed to Public Folder mailbox instead of Public Folder in Exchange 2007 database.
Due to the changes in how public folders are stored, legacy Exchange mailboxes are unable to access the public folder hierarchy on Exchange 2013 servers. However, user mailboxes on Exchange 2013 servers or Exchange Online can connect to legacy
public folders. Exchange 2013 public folders and legacy public folders can’t exist in your Exchange organization simultaneously. This effectively means that
there’s no coexistence between versions.
For this reason, it’s recommended that prior to migrating your public folders, you should
first migrate your all legacy mailboxes to Exchange 2013. For more information about migrating public folder from previous versions, please refer to:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj150486(v=exchg.150).aspx

Exchange 2013 Migration issues
I have three issues and decided to list them here. Please pick and choose to assist. Thanks in advance.
Environment:
Mixed 2007 SP3 R12 and 2013 CU3. 2007 Environment was webmail.domain.com. I installed new Exchange 2013 (1 CAS, 1 Mailbox) according to:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff805032(v=exchg.150).aspx. Exchange 2007 is now legacy.domain.com and Exchange 2013 CAS is webmail.domain.com.
Machine 1: Windows 8.1, not domain joined, using Outlook Anywhere external. Outlook 2013
Machine 2: Windows 7, domain joined, using Outlook Anywhere internal. Outlook 2010 SP2
I have migrated 1 user so far to Exchange 2013. This user was a Domain Admin. I have removed that membership. I checked the box to inherit permissions of the security of the object and reset the AdminCount attribute in ADSIedit to 0 and verified this replicated
to all domain controllers. ( I originally thought this to be the issue with it prompting for the password. )

ISSUE 1
Issue: On Machine 1 (reference above) Windows Security prompt that says "Connecting to
[email protected]". Almost always prompts when Outlook is first opened. Afterwards (if it goes away) seemingly random on when it asks for it. I put in the credentials (absolutely correct) and it fails and prompts again.
I always check the box for it to save the password. To get rid of it, I click the Cancel button at which Outlook reports "NEED PASSWORD", but still acts fine sending and receiving emails. Eventually the "NEED PASSWORD" sometimes changes
to say "CONNECTED", but it works regardless.
No issues on Machine 2 so I don't know where the problem might be as there are a lot of variables in play here.
ISSUE 2
Migrated user is unable to open Public folders from Exchange 2007.
Cannot expan the folder. Microsoft Exchange is not available. Either there are network problems or the Exchange server is down for maintenance. (/o=...).
This error occurs on Machine 1, Machine 2 and from OWA, same error each time.
ISSUE 3
Apps. Installed by default are 4 apps (Bing Maps, Suggested Meetings, Unsubscribe, Action Items). I have made sure the apps are enabled in OWA and they show up in mail items on both Machine 1 (Outlook 2013) and OWA. They do not show up in Machine 2 (Outlook
2010). I'm assuming that isn't supported.
In OWA, when I go to the installed apps listing it shows all of the apps but has a broken link on the image describing the app.
When I click the app in either Outlook 2013 or in OWA, I get "APP ERROR, Sorry we can't load the app. Please make sure you have network and/or internet connectivity. Click "Retry" once you're back online.
Current workaround is just disabling them through OWA.Hello,
In order to avoid confusion, we troubleshoot a issue per thread usually.
For your first isue, I agree with Ed's suggestion to check if your certificate name is correct.
Besides, I recommend you change ExternalClientAuthenticationMethod from Basic authentication to Negotiate authentication to check the result.
For the second issue and third issue, please create a new post.

Public Folder Migration Fails from Exchange 2007 to 2013
I am attempting to sync public folders between Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2013. All the data has been copied over to the Exchange 2013 server but I am getting an error when creating the folders and their permissions.

Public Folder Migration from Exchange 2007 to 2013
Hi Guys,
I have a general Exchange 07-13 migration question about migrating the PF's and System Folder Information, I read somewhere that the SystemFolder info doesn't come across, can someone shed some light on this for me please?
Thanks,
RayHi Ray,
Free/Busy information is stored in system public folder. If you want to decommission the Exchange 2007 Server, you need to add the replicas to Exchange 2013 Server.
What's more, if the users use Outlook 2003, they will rely on the Free/Busy folders. If the users are using Outlook 2007 or newer, then Outlook utilizes something called the Availability Service and no longer relies on the Free/Busy folder.
Please refer to the following article to migrate public folders from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013.
Migrate Public Folders to Exchange 2013 From Previous Versions

Besides, here is a helpful thread for your reference.

Hope it helps.
If there are any problems, please feel free to let me know.
