Push Via Gmail/Yahoo Reply As Hotmail Possible?

I have a Hotmail account that ive used for years which forwards to Gmail or Yahoo for Push on my iphone.
I want to be able to reply as if im replying from my Hotmail account when the mail gets pushed to my phone.
So im guessing something like a Live outgoing server needs to be used.
Also the Gmail and Yahoo are configured on web mail to "send as" Hotmail.
Any ideas?

You'd need to set up your Hotmail account (as POP since that's all they support) on your iPhone, in order to send mail from that account. With the account on the phone, you can tap Reply to a message in the Gmail/Yahoo inbox, then tap the From: field (twice) and select the Hotmail account to send from. But it has to be set up on the phone.

  • Importing friendlist from Gmail, Yahoo, AIM, Hotmail etc.

    Hi All,
Does anybody knows how to import the friend list from Gmail, Yahoo, AIM, Hotmail etc via Server Side Scripts? I tried a lot by searching on Google and of course at this forum but could not figure out anything.
Let me know, if someone has any idea to perform this activity.
    Regards,
    CodeSnooker.

I'm not sure about messenger list.
However,if you are working on gmail once there is a way by which one can export gmail contacts address book.
    solution is :
    http://g4j.sourceforge.net/#download
Now coming back to extacting Gtalk list the logic is bit simple.
Just try to re-write the logic such that you extract all the list for which email address ends with "@gmail.com".
Hope that might be of some help :)

    Hello vijaymanoj,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with your iCloud email account.  I recommend reviewing the sections titled "If you can't send mail in OS X Mail" and "If you can't receive mail in OS X Mail" in the following article:

  • Gmail push via Exchange is performing dreadfully iOS 8 iPhone 6 Plus

Ever since I upgraded from a 4S to an iPhone 6 Plus with iOS 8 (fully updated), the performance for Gmail push via Exchange has been absolutely atrocious. Just to be clear: I am a PAID Google Apps user and therefore the Exchange based push SHOULD work as it always did. I am aware that they discontinued support for non-paid users.
It used to perform flawlessly. Someone would send me an email and PING! It would appear on my iPhone within seconds. Now I'm logging into Gmail on my desktop and seeing emails from hours ago that haven't arrived on my phone yet. It's only when I open the mail app that they download. So basically, push is only working some of the time. Has anyone else experienced this? I will ask on the Google forums as well but right now I don't know whether this is a Gmail thing or an iOS thing. Whatever it is, it's extremely annoying and causing me no end of trouble in my business.

    Hi JSharke,
Thanks for clarifying that you are using your own domain.  I have a domain, but don't use it for Gmail email at this time.  In my case where I wanted to have my Gmail pushed to my iPhone 6 Apple email app, Google recommended an option which was to download and install the Gmail mail app and use it to be notified any time I received a Gmail.  I could still use my Apple email app by manually retrieving the Gmail email by pulling down on the email screen to force a refresh.  That approach works.  I am also using the Apple email app to retrieve my company Exchange Server email (which still supports Push), so both Gmail and my company email will be in the same folder and I can easily access all of my contacts which are synced to Exchange Server for either work or Gmail email that I send.
Unfortunately, none of this info helps your situation.  At least you can call Google Help if you have a paid account.   I found them very helpful.

  • Queries on Gmail & Yahoo

    Guyz
i found many threads and apple knowledge base docs regd setting up imap/pop for gmail &yahoo and did the same on my new iphone...following are my queries, appreciate any answers ....
1> as i do not have IMAP enabling/disabling in my gmail account settings, i enabled POP download from now on (assuming that email client can download only recent messages). after doing this i set up gmail (by clicking Other in iphone mail settings instead of clicking on Gmail) and found it pulled all messages from my gmail account instead of recent ones.... deleted the account on iphone and resaved the settings on my gmail account and recreated gmail account on iphone twice with no luck.... why amn't i getting IMAP in my gmail and why isn't downloading only recent messages ?
2> going through this forum i understood yahoo provides push email... is it only for newly created accounts? my account is 3 years old.... anyways i set up the POP settings in my yahoo account (clicked " I don't want to receive any messages that SpamGuard thinks are spam ") and created iphone yahoo account. First i tried on clicking 'Other' as i did for gmail only to find its throwing error 'Cannot connect to server with SSL'? without SSL also it was not working.later i tried by clicking on 'Yahoo' and set up the account successfully. it also downloaded all messages from my yahoo a/c.... my query is how to setup push email and settings for downloading only recent messages ?
as a test i sent an email to my yahoo a/c from other account (iphone settings are check every 15 mins)...i didnt get that test email on my iphone immediately (is push email not working ?) instead got it after sometime...
    your answers are highly appreciated....
    thanks in advance

nathan -- when i opted for POP in gmail accoutn settings (time was 16.45) so i expected emails created >=16.45 today but i got all exsiting emails on my gmail account (emails created earlier than 16.45) in my iphone.... which isn't expected by that option i believe..... is it anamoly or thats the way it works ?
regarding push mail -- even if i keep 'manual check' in my iphone mail settings, will email be delivered to my iphone ?

Is there any choice of getting all these? If anybody know about this / already worked on this, give me some startup for this concept...
    Thanks,

  • I synced two of my email accounts via gmail's POP3 thing. But now my iphone's gmail inbox shows a random selection of emails (not most recent ones that are in my inbox). How can I make my iphone inbox match what I see when I log on using a PC?

I synced two of my email accounts via gmail's POP3 capabilities. But now my iphone's gmail inbox only shows a random selection of emails (i.e. right now it is May 31, 2013 but the emails in my inbox are a couple from Nov 12, a few from Oct 12, and then some way older than that and so on.When I log into my gmail from a computer, I see all my emails in the logical, standard order. How can I make my iphone inbox match what I see when I log on using a PC?

If you're trying to decide between using POP and IMAP, we encourage you to use IMAP.
Unlike POP, IMAP offers two-way communication between your web Gmail and your email client. This means when you log in to Gmail using a web browser, actions you perform on email clients and mobile devices (ex: putting mail in a 'work' folder) will instantly and automatically appear in Gmail (ex: it will already have a 'work' label on that email the next time you sign in).
IMAP also provides a better method to access your mail from multiple devices. If you check your email at work, on your mobile phone, and again at home, IMAP ensures that new mail is accessible from any device at any given time.
Finally, IMAP offers a more stable experience overall. Whereas POP is prone to losing messages or downloading the same messages multiple times, IMAP avoids this through two-way syncing capabilities between your mail clients and your web Gmail.
That is from the page that you linked- does highlighted part of message ring a bell?

  • Native notes sync (via gmail) on multiple devices

I sync my notes (from the native notes app) via gmail over both my iPad and my android phone. I noticed today that if I edit a note (that is already synced with both devices) with my iPad while it has no Internet connection, the changes are not retained - it gets uploaded to my google account once I get Internet again, but gmail has them received two later syncs from my phone (a later time stamp) which then replaces my note with the last addition, and the old version of that note is instead uploaded to google from my phone and then pulled from google by my iPad, replacing my latest addition with the older (yet according to time stamp newer) note from my phone.
I guess notes doesn't have a way of checking which content is really the latest?
Now that I think about it, I might have opened that particular note on my phone after the ipad edits, but before bringing my iPad on touch with Internet again... Which would of course create a more recent version of that note, replacing the update on my iPad...
The nice thing is that all revisions are stored on my google account so I never lost any data.
Is there however a way to have notes detect such conflicts or no?

As you 'saw on the Apple website' (for example, in this kbase article), Notes syncing is over USB only. You state that you use MobileMe. To sync notes from a Mac to your iPhone, you'll need to connect the iPhone and sync via iTunes. Be sure to deselect other items on the Info tab synced by MobileMe (calendars, etc.) and be sure Notes syncing is checked. Have you tried that?
EDIT: Seems you figured it out yourself as I was answering. Is it working now?

In Mail's Window Menu, choose Connection Doctor, any red dots for status, if so what is the message?
Then click the Show Details button & Check again.

  • Unreadable word 2007 files after emailing via Gmail or saving to USB drive

I am having trouble with word 2007 files that I am emailing via gmail and also my uni portal email site. They lose the docx extension and become unreadable. It also seems that word 2007 files saved onto my USB drive are not readable on other computers. I have been advised to change configuration on my Macbook to Always use the file extension but I cannot find where to set this. Can anyone advise me on how to do this?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
If you can't open it from Word/Neo Office's Open File command from within the application, setting the Open With file extension won't help. What may be the problem is that Word itself may be saving certain meta data that can't be transfered via the FAT32 storage of the USB drive. Your best bet is to archive it with control-mouse click if on a Mac, or using WinZip on a PC before moving it from one machine to another to avoid loss of important meta data.
If using the Word or Neo Office's File menu -> Open file command can read the file in question, your Open With that is available on the Mac's control - left mouse click (or one mouse button) key combination, has an optional checkbox to Always Open With, when you select Open With -> Other... Upon selecting that, pick your application to open the said document.

  • Replace agent for push via console

    Hi!
I want to replace the agent which is beeing pushed via the console. I have SCOM 2012 without SP today. I want to push the R2 agent via the console, as I'm soon upgrading my SCOM, and therefore see it convenient to begin installing the R2-agent, as this works
    with my console.
I guess there is a msi-file within the SCOM-directory in my MS, but so far I haven't been able to find and replace the correct one. Manual install of the R2 agent works fine, and show up within the console with correct version number.
Any help appreciated and a Happy new year:)
    Best regards
    Rune Haugen

    Hi,
If an agent was installed using the push install method, after upgrade the server the agent will be put into a pending update state and can be upgraded through the Console.
Otherwise the agent should be upgraded manually.
For detailed information, you can refer to this library.

  • Unable to share pix from iPhoto via Gmail

Perhaps my understanding is incorrect. In iPhoto preferences, I set up a Gmail account. In Preferences I also specified that photos be shared via iPhoto. It is my understanding that, when a photo is selected, and Share is selected (arrow, lower right), a share via Gmail will be the result. This does not happen. Instead, I receive a pop-up in which the top six items (Messages, Mail, iCloud, Facebook, Flickr, and Twitter) are all grey-shaded and unavailable for selection. Is there some other step I must take?
N.b., the alternate path, i.e., using the Gmail website to create an email, and using the attach transaction to select a photo from the library–works fine. But this is not as convenient as immediately highlighting a photo at hand and sharing it.
    iPhoto is 9.6; MacOSX is 10.10; MBP 13" 4G

iPhoto has no direct link to Gmail. Mail.app is the path. Gmail may perform the “courtesy” of selecting pix from the iPhoto library. This is done manually. The "Share" interface is not involved. The "Share" interface may go to the mail.app if anything.
