Pushing connections from the VPN to the router.

I am trying to set up a VPN on Snow Leopard Server. What I have now, when one connects to the VPN, the server assigns an IP address to the one who connects and their connection is sent out from the server. Instead of this, I would like the server to push the connection out to the router it is connected to and have the router assign an IP address to the computer and the connection is set out from the router (like the person is actually connect to LAN). How do I set this up?

when one connects to the VPN, the server assigns an IP address to the one who connects and their connection is sent out from the server
That's correct - that's how it works.
I would like the server to push the connection out to the router it is connected to and have the router assign an IP address to the computer and the connection is set out from the router (like the person is actually connect to LAN).
I'm not quite sure what you're asking for here.
First off, the router cannot be the one that assigns the IP address. The VPN server has a pool of IP addresses it can use, and those are the only addresses it will use. You can't have the VPN server query some other DHCP server for an address.
This is rarely an issue, though, which is why I don't think I understand what you're after.
The other part I don't get is '... the connection is set out from the router (like the person is actually connect to LAN)"
What do you mean by this? The router is going to be used for all outgoing traffic, no matter what, and VPN clients will act just like they're on the LAN, so either you have a really funky network setup that I can't visualize, or I'm not understanding what you're trying to achieve (and what isn't working).
Can you be more specific?

Since upgrading, both our wireless printers are still visible, but OSX will not connect with them.  Both work via connecting from other sources via the same wireless router (airport).  What do I need to do to get my printing/scanning working again?

First thing to try is reset Printing System:
OS X Mavericks: Reset the printing system
Next would be reset the router (power off 15 secs then back on). And, 2 minutes later, reset the printers 1 by 1.

  • Is this possible: SNC connection from SAP GUI to SAP Router, and ...

    Hi,
    I have (stupid perhaps) question.
    Is this scenario possible:
SNC connection from SAP GUI to SAP Router, and non-SNC connection from SAP Router to SAP System.
I know how to set up scenario like this:
    SAP System --- (non-SNC conn) --- saprouter1 --- (SNC conn) --- saprouter2 --- (non-SNC conn) --- SAP GUI.
    Best regards,
    Marek Majchrowski

    Wolfgang,
To be sure myself and Marek understand, can you confirm the different scenarios supported:
    Scenario 1:
    SAP GUI --- (non SNC conn) --- saprouter1 --- (SNC conn) --- saprouter2 --- (non-SNC conn) --- SAP System
With this scenario, it would be possible for a user to logon using SAP GUI onto the SAP System, but without SAP GUI SNC.
    Scenario 2:
    SAP GUI --- (SNC conn) --- saprouter1 --- (non SNC conn) --- saprouter2 --- (SNC conn) --- SAP System
With this scenario it would be possible to logon to the SAP System using SAP GUI, and using SNC authentication.
Also, with this scenario the SAP GUI software and SAP System software would consider this to be similar to:
SAP GUI -- (SNC conn) -- SAP System
    Scenario 3:
This is the scenario mentioned by Marek in his initial question:
SAP GUI -- (SNC conn) -- saprouter1 -- (non SNC conn) -- SAP System
With this scenario it will not be possible to logon to SAP System using SNC, and only possible if the SAP GUI is configured to not use SNC. In other words the SNC connection between SAP GUI and saprouter1 is available, but cannot be used.

  • I can not see the PC I'm connected to over VPN in the MY Network tab.

    Hi,
I have set up my incoming connection for my VPN
on a Windows 8.1 PC.  I can then remotely log in with my Windows 7 laptop. The laptop establishes a connection and says that I have "ipv4 internet access."
The problem I'm having is that I can’t find the PC in my network. What am I missing? Is Windows 7 not compatible with Windows 8.1 over
a VPN? I have turned off my Norton's Firewall for a short period of time but this did not change anything. I have altered the IP range allocation for the incoming connection and this has helped to establish a stable connection.
Any ideas on why I can not see the PC I'm connected to, in the (MY
Network) tab, would be much appreciated. Thanks

    Hi Steve,
The main issue is the Windows 8.1 machine is not listed in the Windows 7 machine via VPN ,right ?
Please check the following settings in the network and sharing center:
1.Check these settings in the Advanced sharing settings
“Turn on network discovery” and “turn on file and print sharing”
2.Ping the destination machine both with the IP address and the UNC to have a check .
    Best regards

  • Connect from master/detail to the oracle workflow diagram viewer possible?

Hello we are using apex 4 and we have a master/detail form.
Now we want if you click on the detail on item_key or item_type to redirect to the corresponding diagram in oracle workflow.
Is this possible if so could you point us in the right direction.
    Thank you.

    Hi Frank,
Thanks for your reply. In the application I used weblogic JDBC driver for Sybase when it was developed in 11.1.1.1.0 version.
The following are the extries in bc4j.xcfg file:
    jbo.sql92.JdbcDriverClass="weblogic.jdbc.sybase.SybaseDriver"
    jbo.TypeMapEntries="Java"
    jbo.SQLBuilder="SQL92"
Now I have changed the JDBC to Sybase jConnect (jconn4.jar) and driver class is com.sybase.jdbc4.jdbc.SybXADataSource and other entries remains the same as it was before.
    Thanks

  • Redundant access from MPLS VPN to global routing table

Several our customers have MPLS VPNs deployed over our infrastructure. Part of them requires access to Internet (global routing table in our case).
As I'm not aware of any methods how to dynamicaly import/export routes between VRF/Global routing tables, at the moment there are static routes configured - one inside VRF pointing to global next hop, another one in global routing table, pointing to interface inside VRF.
Task is to configure redundant access to Internet. By redundancy I mean using several exit points (primary and backup), what physically represents separate boxes.
Here comes tricky part - both global static routes (on both boxes, meaning) are valid and reachable in all cases - no matter if specific prefix is reachable in VRF or not. What I'd like to achieve is that specific static route becomes valid only if specific prefix is reachable inside VRF. Yea, sounds like dynamic routing :), I know
OK, hope U got the idea. Any solutions/recommendations ? Running all Internet routing inside VRF isn't an option, at least for now :(

    Hi Andris,
I did not mean to have a VRF on the CE. The CE would have both PVCs in the global routing table - his ONLY routing table in fact. One PVC would be used to announce routes into the customer specific VPN (VRF configured on the PE). The other PVC would allow for internet access through the PE (global IP routing table on the PE).
dot1q will be ok as well.
This way the CE can be a normal BGP peer to the PE, i.e. there is no MPLS VPN involved here. This allows all options of customer-ISP connectivity.
    Example:
    PE config:
    interface Serial0/0
    encapsulation frame-relay
    interface Serial0/0.1 point-to-point
    description customer VPN access
    ip vrf customer
    ip address 10.1.1.1 255.255.255.252
    interface Serial0/0.2 point-to-point
    description customer Internet access
    ip address 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.252
    router rip
    address-family ipv4 vrf customer
    version 2
    network 10.0.0.0
    no auto-summary
    redistribute bgp 65000 metric 5
    router bgp 65000
    neighbor 192.168.1.2 remote-as 65001
    address-family ipv4 vrf customer
    redistribute rip
    CE config:
    interface Serial0/0
    encapsulation frame-relay
    interface Serial0.1 point-to-point
    description VPN access
    ip address 10.1.1.2 255.255.255.252
    interface Serial0.2 point-to-point
    description Internet access
    ip address 192.168.1.2 255.255.255.252
    router bgp 65001
    neighbor 192.168.1.1 remote-as 65000
    router rip
    version 2
    network 10.0.0.0
    no auto-summary
Of course you can replace RIP with whatever is suitable for you. And don´t sue me when you do not apply required BGP filters for internet access... ;-)
The other option ("mini internet") would be feasible as well. Just make sure your BGP filters are NEVER messed up and additionally apply a limit on the numbers of prefixes in your VRF mini-internet.

  • I use an iMac 10.6.8 with iPhoto '09 to download digital images from Canon DSLRs. Until the last two weeks there has been no trouble whatever importing images by  a USB connection from either camera to the Mac. Now the process will not kick in. Any ideas?

I use an Mac OSX 10.6.8 with iPhoto 09 to download digital images from two Canon DSLRs. Until the last week, there has been no problem whatever in launching the import procedure once the USB connection has been connected and the camera switched on. Now the process will not kick in at all for either camera.  I can't find a solution through iPhoto help or from other sources.
Any ideas to fix?  (I admit I have not tested the USB cable at this time).

    What does "kick in" mean?
    As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?
    Post back with the result.

  • Getting VPN from the VPN client to see into the host network

    Hello
I am a real amateur here. I have configured a cisco VPN server, group and user on an SRP527W, ADSL2+ AnnexA, 802.11n ETSI, 2FXS/1FXO. I can connect from my PC with the Cicso VPN client on it (I get the banner) but I cannot ping into the local network at all. Once I do get in I will be using shares to work on files or VNC to take over a CAD workstation.
I am sure I just have not set up something but I don't know where to look. My local network is 192.168.15.***
    Please put me right.
    My setup is

    Hello Christopher
It appears that the VPN client must be on a separate network to any VLAN: If I try an address range matching a local VLAN I get this:

  • I have the VPN connected...how to access services?

Ok so I activated the VPN service on the server (snow leopard server), and have successfully connected to it from a machine running Lion. Now what?
I would like to access network shares on the file server, and be able to access vnc screen sharing and so forth. Yet nothing shows up in the network browser etc. What am I missing?

This has been discussed many times.... the Network Browser only looks at the local network. It knows nothing about (and does not look across) the VPN connection.
To access resources over the VPN use the Finder's Go -> Go to Server menu and enter the appropriate hostname of the remote (VPN-protected) service. This does, of course, mean that you need to know the hostname (or IP address) of the server in question.
There are ways of configuring Network Browser to work, but it's non-trivial in most cases.

    The equipment:
Iphone 4S 16gb VZW with personal hotspot
    Ipad 3 32gb wi-fi only
    The issue:
I turn on the personal hotspot on the phone, connect to the ipad over wi-fi or bluetooth and surf the web flawlessly. I turn on the VPN on the ipad and cannot access my work network. I check the IP address of the phone prior to the connection of the VPN and it registers a VZW IP that the phone is supposed to broadcast. I turn the VPN in and the ipad reflects the VPN IP address that I'm trying to connect to back to the phone and THAT is what the phone tries to project. My RMS vendor and our network provider have both been identified as not being the culprit. I've spent about 8 hours on the phone with an IOS Senior Advisor and we are both perplexed by this. He has been gracious enough to maintain daily contact with me and he's forwarded it up to those higher than him.
This worked back in April of this year and quit working in May or June. That means it worked on IOS5 and quit working IOS 5.
    Anyone else having these issues?

This is a user to user help forum only. You are not addressing Apple here.
My iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, and iPad 2 are running 6.1.3 with no such problem and the same with the overwhelming majority of iOS devices running 6.1.3.
