Pushing out Apps to iPad without Apple ID credentials!

When are Apple going to allow educational institutes and business push out apps without requiring the apple ID and Password. Im not the only one to mention this! Very common issue!
Whenever we push out an app using our MDM tool, it asks for the Apple ID password! Our only option is to give the password to the teacher or student, but then we risk them logging into the online account and locking us out! (changing the password and security details etc...)
Somthing NEEDS! to be done here, Ive been frantically Googling for days trying to find a work around that DOSENT involve the Apple Configurator (with **** USB cables!) and i KNOW im not the only person in this situation....
Or at least have a layered password facility so that if we do give out a password to the teacher or student, the password they have cant do anything but install apps... that might work...
Apple really need to look at this!

I'd give apple a call. I think that I read that you do not need to enter the password with iOS 7 for app updates.
Until something better comes along.

This is what you can do:

Failing to push out apps via profile manager

Hi,
Been helping out at a school where they have bought 90 iPads for their kids to use - after weeks of frustrations they were all finally enrolled on the mac server (runs OS X Yosemite). Thought I had finally managed to help them finish it off but now when they try too push out apps from profile manager they're having an issue.
The devices are grouped in groups of 30 and when I tried too push out an app to them (Scratch Jr, if that makes any difference at all) it would only push out to 14 of the iPads in the group - with varying degrees of success. The room there kept in doesn't have a great signal from their wi-fi so I thought it might have something to do with that but when I tried to push out another app (PhotoMath) it got pushed out to all the iPads in the group, again with varying degrees of success.
Essentially I have 2 problems - Why would the server only push out to some iPads for some apps but then suddenly find them all when pushing out an another? And why would some iPads not even pick up the app? Even when, in the active tasks, it says app deployment has been successful? The school have had these iPads since September and have only been able to use them sparingly - so to say they're dead keen would be an understatement.
I hope I'm making sense - please help! I've checked the logs from the server but I'd be lying if I said I could understand that stuff...

I'm not familiar with LANDesk, but ARD will allow you to push files to remote Macs as specify their locations.
So if everybody need a particluar font on their computer, you could push it to /Library/Fonts on all of your Macs. You can also remotely install packages. This is useful if your deploying a something like Adobe CS5 to a bunch of workstations.

The iPad and Apple TV could become the next killer app for professional photographers - all Apple needs to do is copy the iPod programming into the Photo app as follows:
1. Enable rating photos being viewed (1=top, 5=bottom)
2. Enable viewing photos by rating (1s only, 1s and 2s, unrated, any combo)
3. Enable slideshow to randomly pick from photos by rating
4. Enable virtual albums just like the iPod playlist function, so photos could be organized into albums without being recopied.
5. Enable slideshow to use multiple folders, albums and playlists (new feature)
Then the wedding photographer could invite the client to see their virtual album, rate the pictures being viewed for selection in the wedding album.... you "get the picture?"
Come on Apple, this one's easy!

You didn't ask for comments in your original post. The tone of your post implied that you wanted to let Apple know your feeling, not a request for comment or survey, etc.

Reset ipad without apple-id

Hi,
We have over 100 iPads used by employees. They use their own Apple-ID since VPP is not availble in Norrway.
When someone leaves the company we need to reset and delete the ipad they used. But after iOs 7 this requires that you type in the username and password for the Apple-ID used on the device.
Is there a way to reset an iPad without the Apple-ID of the person that was using it?

I am running Yosemite and want to update iLife and iWork WITHOUT APPLE ID.

You cannot update Mac App Store apps without the Apple ID that was used to purchase them. You are asking for help to pirate apps, we can't help with that here in the ASC.
You have really messed them up by removing that folder from the app bundle.

Assign apps to classroom iPads without Apple IDs

Our district is integrating Profile Manager on OSX Server, bound to AD, with 50+ iPads. They will be handed out to certain K-12 classrooms.
I was hoping once myself or a teacher was authenticated against AD, and the iPad auto enrolled, I could assign/push apps OTA (similarly to AD or Novell with a PC). I don't want teachers having to log in with their apple IDs, on every device, then the device handled by young children.
I thought the easiest part of the setup would be distributing VPP apps, however is appears each user has to be "invited", accept, and then sign in with an apple id. Is this true? Am I missing something?

Transfer Apple ID for apps on iPad without losing game data

I have 2 ipads. My wife mom passed away so my wife took over iPad. The ipad has my apple id. Then the 2nd iPad belongs to my dad and he passed away year ago. I have took over with my apple id. the problem is there are handful of apps will not update because some of apps asking for my brother and pvz2 asking my nephew id. My son is playing multiple apps for example minion rush, dragon vale and plants vs zombie. I have purchased the apps on first iPad. But the major of the data is much bigger and advanced on the 2nd iPad. If i have already taken over both iPad with my id how come i cannot find setting to switch id. This isn't easy. Im new to mac so ipad is completely different than the mac, is there way to save the data. I cannot use iTunes because it only backs up data I own on the 2nd ipad. I am leary on 3rd party software for example i-explore. need to take over my id so the app can update. There was some articles about how to turn off document and data. however the settings have changed since I have updated iOS on both to 8.3. ugh

Apps are always associated with the Apple ID that was used to download or purchase them. This cannot be changed.

Remote app and Ipad with Apple TV

I use the Remote app with both an iPad and iPhone to control my first gen Apple TV. This works fine except for one thing. When I select "Apple TV" as the library, using an iPhone I have access to all my library including Podcasts. When I run the same app on my Ipad, still selecting "Apple TV" as the library, no Podcasts come up on the iPad to select - the category is completely missing.
Has anyone else seen this issue ? Are they still there but hidden somewhere else ? Bear in mind I keep no content on the Apple TV - it is effectively just acting as a wireless device to get the signal to my TV.

Tap Settings on the iPad then tap General / Reset / Reset Network Settings then restart your iPad.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPad. To turn iPad back on, press and hold the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears.
See if you can access podcasts now.

iWork '09 is not "outdated" it still works and works extremely well and whilst not perfect with MsWord it is far far better than Pages 5.2 which has a stream of major issues with exporting. It is also way better and faster to use than Microsoft Office.
So what is your time and work actually worth? If it is less than $19.99 for 6 months, you may as well just chuck it in and take that job on minimum wages.
You are assuming things for Office 2014 with absolutely no inside knowledge. Much as we assumed Pages 5 was going to be the long awaited improvement, but ended up being a downgrade to match the iOS version, Microsoft is headed the same way with their mobile versions.
This is not like getting the "latest" pair of pants where you go with the crowd and throw out your cigarette legs which replaced the flares, which replaced your low cuts which replaced your cigarette legs, which replaced…

If it does the job and does it well, use it. There is nothing out there to really match what Pages '09 does. Yet.
LibreOffice can do most but not all, but has a UI that only a mother could love. It's great redemption is that it uses both open formats and the standard Microsoft formats and is under active development. It also opens and saves to just about everything. When they finally work out the Pages formats, I'm sure they will open those as well.
I use a lot of professional software. Just because the publisher's marketing department says change the product so we can sell more, doesn't mean you have to pay any attention whatsoever. Adobe being a classical example. Most designers are just ignoring their latest subscription based bloatware and getting on with their work.

Is there a way to push apps to iPads OTA without entering a ID/password?

I work for a public school system that has about 1500 iPads. Currently we have one school with about 600 iPads and students are using them in a 1:1 capacity. Each classroom has a cart with a laptop that controls the iPads through Apple Configurator. Each cart has its own apple id.
We just purchased a Mac Mini Server with the newest server version on it. I set up profile manager and was really excited about the ability to remotely manage restrictions and apps. But then I discover that when trying to use the app that's pushed through PM, you need to enter in the Apple ID and Password from the Apple ID I used to get the push certificate for the server. Does anyone know a workflow that makes it easiest to get Apps pushed through Profile Manager and work on the iPads?
Are there any MDMs out there that can actually push Apps out without every iPad signing into the Apple ID? I just called Apple and the guy didn't know anything that would help me.

No they will always remain under the old Apple ID.
You can't switch purchases between Apple accounts.

Simply select only the apps that you want to sync to your iPad and then sync. You can control what syncs to the iPad. You may be best served by turning off auto sync.
Launch iTunes and go to Edit>Preferences>Devices and check the box that says - Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically. Click OK.
Connect your iPad to the computer.
Launch iTunes
Click on the iPad name on the left side under the Devices heading.
Click on the Apps Tab in the iTunes window on the right.
Click on only the apps that you want to sync in the list of apps under the Sync Apps heading.
Make sure that the Sync Apps heading is checked.
Click on Apply in the lower corner of iTunes.
