I have accidently put my new email in the alternate email box, so i deleted it and put it in the correct box for all apple email to go to that one and now it wont let me use it as my apple i.d email address because i put it in the wrong box even though i deleted it. please help!

I would try to reset all the settings in Mail, Preferences, Accounts (outgoing and incoming servers) according to your mail providers specs.

Go to Settings/Store/Apple ID on your iPod, log out of the account, restart the iPod and log in again with the correct account info.

Issues with a email server migration - URGENT HELP PLEASE

Hi,
My online company uses TB and we recently changed our email server provider to resolve a serious problem we were having with the previous one. Both servers (old and new) are IMAP.
The problem is that since we have made this server migration we are having a lot of strange things happening on TB such as:
1. When I mark a email read I can no longer mark it as unread. I've tried to click on the little ball, to select 'Mark as unread' by clicking on the right side of the mouse, etc and nothing!
2. When I reply and forward an email the reply and forward arrow is not showing up so sometimes we don't know what emails have been done
3. Sometimes the emails are sent and don't show up in the sent folder. So we need to put our own email in BCC to be sure that they have been answered.
The guy who organised the server migration suggested us to move to outlook, but outlook is not resolving the problem either. On top of that it makes our computers as slow as snails. I'm on a free trial with outlook that will expire in two days and I want to go back to TB as I find it much easier and straight forward.
Has anyone have a similar issue? Can someone HELP please?

Assuming you are disconnecting from line power, when you say switched on, do you mean it was shutdown or in sleep mode? If sleep mode the battery will still drain because sleep still keeps some things active and the battery does drain a little. However, to go from 100% to 79% charge overnight is a bit excessive in sleep mode. Unless you have some processes set to activate over night by the cron file and do things like backup the system.
What are the statistics on the battery, the apple in the upper left corner, About This Mac, More Info, System Report, Hardware, Power...things like battery Condition, Capacity, remaining charge, voltage, current.

i am trying to set up an arch linux torrent box and i am running in to some issues. everything has been going smooth until i get ready to setup the php. these are the instructions i am using to set it up
Part 3.33 repeating: Setup PHP
Step 1: Type 'sudo nano -w /etc/httpd/cont/httpd.conf' and scroll down to the end of the list of 'LoadModule'. At the end, type 'LoadModule php5_module modules/libphp5.so' and 'Include conf/extra/php5_module.conf' on two separate lines.
Step 2: Find 'open_basedir' and add ':/bin/:/usr/bin/:/usr/local/bin/' to the end of the line (follow the pattern).
Step 3: Find 'allow_url_fopen = Off' and change it to 'allow_url_fopen = On'
Step 4: Type 'sudo /etc/rc.d/httpd restart' to restart the server. There is a script to test PHP on the wiki link at the beggining of this part, do it.

i am having issues with step 2 i cannot seem to find open_basedir for the life of me! is this guide out dated? i have followed everything to a cept the install process was in a slightly diff order then in the guide some please help me thanks in advance

i am really new to all this so bear with me.... do you mean still use arch and use rTorrent for the torrent front end?

Needless to say it puts out some heat, right now it great keeps me nice and toasty but i have another old gateway that i want to use. i want something that is not demanding on the system since the gateway is on it's last leg. I will be hooking the gateway up to an internet connection and power no monitor unless i absolutely need to

On Mac, this password prompt is presented by your operating system, and is intended to keep you from accidentally installing software which can harm your system. Flash Player does not throw this prompt, Apple does that.
Please provide machine credentials of currently logged in User to continue with the installation.

C6-00 email account problems, need help please..

Hi all. First of all, I don't experience any issues with the email accounts as referred to in other posts here. I do however have one problem and would appreciate if someone could explain a work-around for the issue. I'm desperately trying to set up a Gmail account using IMAP protocol but that allows me to access all advanced settings and not the ones pre-defined by the Nokia software. I'm basically wanting to have the same control I have over non pre-configured email provider accounts, download limits in KB, constantly connected when i have the mailbox open, choosing what folders to sync or not, etc.
I did manage to have a Gmail account configured this way by mistake. When i set up the account it gave an error informing me of that i could try to continue with "alternative settings without the Nokia personalization" sort of (don't remember really the message) and after accepting to continue the account was created with "standard IMAP" settings.
I'm however unable to re-create the event and simply cannot create a Gmail account with those settings. Even tried to set up another existing account and then edit definitions to Gmail but the personalized settings are always taking priority.
Any advises please? Thanks alot in advance and best regards!

Same problem here, but with error -2096. Can connect fine on same network with an iPod Touch and a Macbbook, but the Mac Mini that normally connects to iTunes just won't connect. Not using multiple accounts, uninstalled iTunes 8, reinstalled 7 - no joy. Uninstalled 7 reinstalled 8, no joy. Updated 8 to 8.01, no joy. Tried putting the Mini into a DMZ on the router, still no good. Sent an email to Apple support who will needless to say tell me to reinstall iTunes 8......

EMAIL PROBLEMS APPRECIATE SOME HELP PLEASE

I accidentally tried to send a large pdf file by email via my .mac account. I tried to cancel the send when I realised it was 192meg
Since then I cannot send or receive email at all and the little circle thing (that spins when checking email on an account) keeps searching but does nothing else (been doing it for nearly 4 hours now!)
Every now and then a message comes up saying: Some actions taken while the account ".mac" was offline could not be completed online...Mail has undone actions on some messages so that you can redo the actions while online. Mail has saved other messages in mailbox “On My Mac” in “On My Mac” so that you can complete the actions while online. Additional information: The connection to the server “mail.mac.com” on port 993 timed out.
I click the only options, which is 'ok' then it continues searching
So I read the help topic and it gave an option that perhaps my account is full so i clicked get info, the relevant account, then quota limits as instructed
it says it is 'calculating sizes' but has done that for nearly the past 2 hours now and doing nothing! So as a last resort I am hoping somebody on here could advise what I can do.

At this point I think you need to call .mac and ask them to look into and delete the messages. If your mac is no longer connected to the server, and it's still duplicating then it's not your mac sending the command to copy, it's something on the .mac end.

i just purchased 30gig ipod video, and i have no idea how to put my videos from my digital camera to my ipod. My clips from digital camera are in Windows Media format. Can some one please tell me how to put these in my files into itunes and then into my ipod?

yes you can put videos in your iPod, I do it all the time.
what i do is if they are in a format that QuickTime can understand like .mov or another format like that i put it into QT Pro and export it as "iPod" or as "MPEG-4" and once it is converted you can drag it into iTunes edit the info and put it on your iPod. if they are not in a format that QT dosent understand there is a freware program called Videora. get the one for iPods and it will convert it into .mp4 which can then be dropped into iTunes edit info and put onto an iPod.

Many PCs are infected. One of the things that can happen on such a machine is that it will send messages to every address in the machines address book. Often, it will set the sending address to be one of those addresses chosen at random, so you will often see undeliverable messages coming back to you for messages you didn't send. There is nothing much that can be done. You could look at the message headers in the mails, and if the earliest "received" on the messages are all from the same source try contacting the ISP.
In the normal course of events these things pass ...

Hopefully you can answer my question. My friend was making a slideshow on idvd, but is unable to burn a disk, and has a mini-dvi out on her computer which she does not have an adaptor for. We have a presentation tomorrow so I was trying to put the file on my computer to either burn to a disk. We have tried transferring the file via shared folders, but when we go to open it in imovie it says that it is a "write protected file". We have read and write enable for both shared folders. When we tried transferring it with a flash drive that didn't work either and we got the same error. Quicktime also fails to open it. Right now I'm on my last guess with making a disk image through idvd and attempting to open that on my computer!
Do you have any suggestions or ideas? I'm running out of ideas and really need this to work by tomorrow night! Any ideas/help/suggestions would be so greatly appreciated!

nvm, put it in itunes and converted it to ipod/iphone format and was able to get it to work. Wow, that was so much easier then what I expected!
