Put in DVD and then no dvd action, finder problems
If I put a dvd in nothing happens and disk utility freezes.
DVD wont come out, wont mount, wont spin.
Eventually finder bogs down.
REstart with disk in is necessary to regain normalcy.
This is a fresh system reinstall a few days ago.
Same problem prior to reinstall too.

Either genius bar or Authorized Apple Service Provider. That's so you don't have any clunk head messing with your Mac.

I create a project w/iMovie and I have two problems: When I try to finalize the project iMovie crashes; when I share to DVD sometimes it crashes also; if I can successfully send it to DVD and then burn a DVD there are wavy lines on the screen. I'm uising photos in my project, not video. Help!
You can split a project in two by doing this.
1) Go to the Project Library View.
2) Select your project, and click FILE/DUPLICATE PROJECT. Give it a name like "your project name - part 1".
3) Do this again. This time name it "your project name - part 2"
4) Open Part 1 for editing. Delete everything in the second half.
5) Open Part 1 for editing. Delete everything in the first half of the project.
At the end you should have your original project, plus the same project in two parts. -
How do I save my E-Mail addresses to DVD and then reinstall to my account?
When ever I need to reconfigure, restore or refresh (etc.) my PC system I can (not) find a worthy method to save my E-Mail addresses to DVD and then reinstall them to my 'address book'. Only to DVD (in broken down fashion) and then to my personal documents or downloads, etc. How do I get them (back) to my E-Mail account 'Address Book' ?

Saving ''everything'' is actually easier than trying to pick out just the address book data. If you must, then you're looking for files with a .mab filename extension. Two of them, ''abook.mab'' and ''history.mab'' can be just copied into your new profile. These represent, respectively, Personal Address Book and Collected Addresses. Difference between a master DVD and a regular DVD
Can anyone explain to me the difference between a master DVD and a regular DVD. What is the workflow from FCP to compressor then DVDSP as far as bitrate settings etc? Thanks in advance!!

When you click on 'Build and Format' you get a window appearing which lets you set all kinds of different parameters. At the bottom you will see two drop down boxes. Choose 'Hard Drive' in the top one, and '.img' in the second. This will tell DVDSP to create a disc image and put it in the location that you then specify. When done, you can double click this image and it will open like a DVD disc would - if you have got DVD Player running then your project will run as if it was on a physical disc (although slightly quicker). -

Required password for itunes keeps pop up on my kid's ipad constantly nonstop. So i put in password and then it keeps appear the confirm purchased pop up. I clicked on cancel a thousand times but it keeps popup right after i clicked cancel. Tried so hard to deleted the game and sign out the itune because the popup appeared right the way, but nothing works, i also tried to reset the ipad 5 times but the itune sign in requied keep pop up that i can't do anything else, after sign in, the in-app purchased confirm pop up again over and over and over right after i clicked canceled and the game is already deleted from my ipad. I have had too much problems since i updated an ipad, i have to reset an ipad many times every time i download an app. Help please.
I am having similar problems with iPad 3 freezing. It was fine before upgrade to IOS 8. Ready to throw it out!! No one has any answers other than the norm. Quite often have to hold power and home key down, which doesn't solve the problem. It just unfreezes the situation you are in. Wish this would be solved with the IOS 8!! Should have never upgraded, but never had a problem with Apple software before. Getting to feel like I am back with Windows.

I saved an iMovie to DVD and now I can't find the original working files in iMovie Project library to make additional edits. What happened to the files? Thx!
Did you do the moving of the image file in the Finder or do you have a reference library as asked by Larry? In either case moving the files is a recipe for disaster as you've found out. You must either move the files back to their original locations or try to get those photos back into iPhoto as follows:
1 - Find the folder you moved the files into and COPY it to the Desktop.
2 - in iPhoto delete the photos that you're having the problems with as you normally would even though you can't see see them. Also delete all the photos that are in the folder you moved the other files into.
3 - drag the folder on the Desktop into iPhoto to import them as one event. If you get a duplicate warning I'd let it import the duplicate and use Duplicate Annihilator to find them so you can cull out the duplicate you don't want.
Other than that you might have to start over from scratch as follows:
Creating a new library while preserving the Events from the original library.
1 - Move the existing library folder to the desktop
2 - Open the library package like this.
3 - Launch iPhoto and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
4 - Drag the Originals folder from the iPhoto Library on the desktop into the open iPhoto window.

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
Personal Hotspot should be at Settings > Cellular Data > Personal Hotspot -
Burning to folder and then to dvd

I am getting into a complete mess trying to burn my project in PE7 to a folder ( can't even see "burn to folder" option!) I need to comlpete this project today so can u PLEASE give me the steps I need to take. I did look in forums, but still none the wiser. I assume it is the Video .ts files that i then burn to dvd from the folder.

Bottom line: I believe that the Bitrate 8.0 vs 5.45 or 7.8 or other is a non issue for Premiere Elements 7 Burn to Disc or Folder. I respect the great work of Robert Johnston, but question generalizations from the work that others have made.

Based on what I read there and my actual studies on the issue with Burn to Folder (with Nero to Burn VIDEO_TS Folder to DVD) as well as Burn to Disc (Sonic within Premiere Elements 7), I am left to recommend the following if you are using Premiere Elements 7 and want to put your Timeline on a DVD disc in the DVD-VIDEO format:
In Share/Disc/Disc or Share or Disc/Burn to Folder
Work with “Fit Contents To Available Space” checked
If the Bitrate is less than 8 Mbps because the program is laboring to fit your Timeline on the disc, stop and consider the consequences of
a. Bitrate lowering vs Quality, judging each case on it own merits, AND
b. the fact that you may not have enough resources to complete the burn.
The only time I ever leave “Fit Contents To Available Space” unchecked, is if and when I get a Data Rate Error message. The major fix for that is to leave the “Fit Content to Disc” unchecked and then manually lower the Bitrate gradually to a point where the Data Rate Error message just disappears.
From Robert Johnson’s 2009 fuzzy recollections of the details of his original work done years ago in Premiere Elements 3 to the more recent chat on the subject, I would question generalizations made from the chat and applied to other situations. Robert Johnson does say in the 2009 link that in Premiere Elements 7 he does not see the quality vs bitrate issues that he reported in Premiere Elements 3. There are too many questions to be asked
a. what was video source and format and duration…is he altering the bitrate on a Timeline whose content exceeds the available space of the disc or one whose content is already within the available space of the disc
b. if you are opting for burn to folder, how if at all are the burn software and/or DVD disc brand and type impacting the quality of the result
c. what does this all have to do with the way Adobe has programmed this Bitrate factor with and without “Fit Contents To Available Space” checked.

Copy our own encrypted DVD and then compress it?

we produced a training video for a local corporation. The initial run was 1500 DVDs, but the client requires another 50 or 60 discs. It is css copy encrypted ;4.64 GBs; and has audio/video folders plus some pdfs and doc files. I believe it was dual layered (can't remember last year). I know we used a dlt b/c we only have single layer burners.
We approached the dup house, but their price is just ridiculous for a small run and we have 5 g5s, ready to burn away.
So, if i use disk utility to make an image and then burn the image, it probably won't fit a single layer DVD? I tried to use popcorn to compress it, but it's only recognizing the video folders.
I guess i need a program which will compress the dmg file (and does that mean the dmg will still be encrypted - something tells me no?)

I did what you said and it almost worked. I'm not sure if i compressed the image with popcorn, but it would only do it as 6% (I would have liked to have more choices). But, it seemed to work. I added the video after mounting the new image and then added the pdf and docs.
When I went to burn it, i received a message that some files could not be accessed and wouldn't be included - those files were from the video_ts folder.
Any thoughts?

Converting videos and ripping Dvds and then converting them?
I have no clue how to get any videos or dvds that I own onto my iPod and Ive searched for software everywhere and have no been able to locate anything that is helping my problem. I have a Mac iBook G4 and I know people with Windows machines that could do this better than I. Please if someone could let me know how to proceed in getting my videos on my iPod I would be extremely grateful. Thank you.

when turning my ipad on it comes up with passcode, when i try to enter it it wont accept. so i cannot get any further. the only thing i did was i was just messing and i turned on voiceover, then i tryed to turn it of and it wouldnt let me. i have tryed turning the ipad of and then turning it back on and that didnt work either. please help ....
It's hard to see exactly how just turning voiceover on would have created a passcode, but regardless of that ... if you can't get it sorted so that you can enter whatever the code is, you're going to have to resort to Restoring the iPad from the computer it was last sync'ed to.
