Put MyPalm on TX by mistake, now get (Sys 0505)(0,841) at HotSync
Over the weekend I noticed that the default wireless start page changed when I used my TX with a WiFi access point. One of the changes was a new MyPalm software link, which I click on and it downloaded an application. This application does not run on a TX and is apparently for Treo's only, but now my Palm TX is screwed up.
When I try to HotSync, I get an error message (Sys 0505)(0,841) with an OK box. Tapping that allows the sync to proceed OK.
How do I get rid of this software that doesn't apply to me?
It is not obvious to me what I need to delete from my TX to get rid of this.

Your best bet, I think, is to perform a Hard Reset, rename the Backup folder on your desktop to Backupold, then Hotsync your regular PIM data back, and reinstall your third-party apps one at a time from the backupold folder.

What type of account did you set-up on the iPad, POP, IMAP, the items on your iPad could have downloaded off the server or you will need wait awhile for the message to update to the iPad.

All photos transferred from your computer are stored in the iPhone's Photo Library regardless if you select a single album or folder of photos to be transferred or multiple albums or folders. The photos on the albums or folders of photos include a pointer to the original photos stored in the Photo Library. The photos are not duplicated taking up double the storage space. This way you can view the photos in an album or folder of photos only by selecting the album or folder, or all photos in all albums or folders by selecting Photo Library.
Makes more sense when transferring multiple albums or folders of photos which cannot be changed when transferring only a single album or folder of photos.
The same applies with iTunes and music playlists. A song can't be in a playlist unless it is in the main iTunes library. Placing a song in a playlist does not duplicate the song. -
i plugged my iphone into my desktop mac to put my itunes music on and now all my contacts and photos are gone can i get them back?
You can get your information back if you have previously done a backup in iTunes or iCloud.

I made the mistake when configuring a external monitor, of changing the mhz to 75. When I close the MBP I now get a black screen on the monitor. How do I change it back?
I have a MacBook Pro with the latest operating system, trying to configure a Gateway flat monitor with vga.
ThanksApple menu -> System Preferences -> Displays.
System Preferences can also be found in the Hard drive -> Applications folder.
Resetting the PRAM can help bring displays back to factory settings if you can't find what you need:

I just put itunes upeate 11 on and now itunes will not run. I get an error that sys iTunes has stopped and windows is sutting it down. I reinstalled 10.7 and it will not run eather now.

Yes it would, possibly even brick it.
Have successfully connected my ipod nano with iTunes so looks like the device driver is working.
Can I use my ipod nano USB connector to check?
It is not much help to you, since the device that you need still not recognized.
Anyway looks like I may have to swallow the loss of data. Have set-up a call for tomorrow with Apple support so will wait until after this before doing the factory restore!

I've had my iMac put away for about a year, now I can not remember the admin password upon startup. And I don't have the installation cd's (of course)! Is there any way to re-boot, re-do, get into my Mac to change it. I don't remember it even w/ the hint
Call Apple with the Serial and they will send you the ones that came with the Mac. Or search the Net.

Manually added tracks put my iPhone over capacity. Now I can't sync. Help!
I have a number of Audiobook I tried to sync to my phone. I could not find anywhere in the iPhone settings to choose to sync these (anyone know where?). So I manually added them by dragging them from iTunes onto the iPhone.
However they are very large files and put my iPhone "over capacity". Now whenever I try to sync I get an error message saying:
"The iPhone “Mr Shiney” cannot be synced because there is not enough free space to hold all of the selected items (additional 7.38 GB required)."
But I can't unselect these files! They don't appear in the "Manually Added Songs" section of the Music tab. My phone is stuck in this weird state where I can no longer sync.
I have tried deleting the songs from iTunes. But this now just says the songs couldn't be found so I still can't sync.
Should I restore from backup? Won't I lose all my app content? Any ideas what to do?
My iPhone is a 3G on iOS 4.2.1. iTunes is 10.5.Have you touched the "More" button (on the iPhone).

I had an audio book still on my iphone, it survivedf the iOS5 update.
To get rid of it, I plugged iPhone into Mac,
Go to itunes.
Click on Iphone in iTunes.
Go to Books tab,
Scroll down, there is audio books.
Choose sync selected audio books,
And untick the ones I don;t want.

I had to reinstall iTunes cause during update it was shut off by mistake, now it won't come up and says,"The file "iTunes Library .itl" cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes", what do I do?
Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

I downloaded the latest version of itunes. I am now getting the message that my ipod is in recovery and needs to be restored. When I click to restore, it says it does not recognize this device. Now my ipod is frozen with an image of a cord and an arrow pointing toward the itunes icon. All was working fine before the download!
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

There are two Tables in which the texts will be stored
One is STXH -
TEXT HEADER
other STXL------- TEXT ITEM
If you want to get the Header text then input the values in the table
In STXH
TEXT OBJECT is VBBK
TEXT NAME is DELIVERY NUMBER
TEXT ID is ZS01 ( this is the standard ID for the Header note 1 )
Now goto SE37 and give the Function Module READ_TEXT and maintain all the above details and get the TDLINE Which contains the TEXT of the Delivery

Nikon D70 RAW files now get "Unsupported Image Format"
Prior to March 12th, everything was working fine with my D70 Raw files. I now get the maroon "Unsupported Image Format" (USF) when I select the images that were previously fine. They show up for a fraction of a second before I get the error. I tried rebuilding the database to no avail. I can export the RAW files and open them in Photoshop so they are OK. Also now when I import from my D70 I get the gray box instead of the image and a letterbox maroon USF message, the EXIF data still imports and is associated with the image. Help. I did upgrade to 1.1.1
Dual 1.8Ghz Powermac G5 2GB RAM Radeon X800 XT Mac OS X (10.4.6)Well, I can't really put my finger on it. I know for sure it happened post 1.1 upgrade, but it happened with 1.0 as well (I didn't do any troubleshooting when it first happened, just re-imported and it was fine.) The last time it happened it was the last 20 images on the original CF card, mostly in succession, but there were a few images that were still able to be read okay inside of that 20 image string. I reimported from the original card (thank God I had not erased yet!) and it was fine.
At least I know to keep my originals outside of aperture, what a space wasting bummer! I don't think I have any bad RAM because I've been running for 2 years without any real problems... The minor problems have happened, I believe with very tough weather conditions (humidity) and I experienced problems on all my Macs and even at work on windows. Maybe it was sun flares or static electricity, I don't know. The other issue is that my a/c power dips to low voltage often and my UPS switched to battery. I have a better UPS which always outputs 120v even when things sag or jump.
The only other thing I can possibly think of is that I have my Aperture library on a new Seagate 300GB drive that has only been used for images and sits dormant in my system except for scratch disk and Aperture. Actually, I did use it for about a month or two mirroring my boot drive with no errors, so I think the drive is good. Grr!
Troubleshooting rare occurances without have access to trace level data *****! (At work we can take a trace dump from our equipment and the guys can see pretty quickly what happened, and if it is hardware or software issue.)
To clarify, which Dual 1.8 do you have? The June 2004 one with only 4 RAM slots, or the 2003 one that was added to the original lineup with 8 RAM slots?

Printing with R1800 and Mac - now getting beautiful prints - thank you everyone
I want to give a huge "thank you" to all the people on this forum who have discussed how to set up color-managed printing on Epson printers. As a complete novice, I naively bought an R1800 printer and thought that I would just whip out my prints at home. Alas, after messing with this off and on for almost a year, and after burning through 2 complete sets of cartridges and untold quantities of Epson Ultra Premium Luster paper, I was roundly cursing color management, profiles, monitor calibration, Epson, Lightroom, and photography in general. But the information from Jason Hicking in post 17 of one of the many threads on printing problems ( http://www.adobeforums.com/webx?128@@.3c05eae6 ) fixed my problem and I am now getting gorgeous 13x19" prints that look like what I see on the screen. Jason Hicking deserves an extra round of kudos for the investigation he did on this.
I am just a hobbyist and got my very first SLR camera only 18 months ago. I could never have gotten to this point without everything I have learned from this forum. Many, many people contributed pieces of information that helped me put the puzzle together.
Now, anyone have any ideas on how to get more wall space for putting up framed photos? :)

Thanks for the thanks! I'm glad that I was able to nudge you in the right direction, sometimes we probably know the answer but just need someone to show us a different route to it. I'll come back to you shortly with regards to platform and driver versions if you don't mind as it will help in the research I'm doing as I mentioned in my initial reply to Kimberly.

I'll also keep you in the loop with the discussion between DYP and myself on the driver issues if you like, and I'll also try to explain the theory between using Epson profiles and custom-built profiles for those who'd like to usderstand the issue deeper.
I appreciate fully that it's not just Adobe but until someone can fully explain the complete workflow interactions between different versions of Lightroom, Colorsync and the Epson drivers then we'll have to keep coming back to the 'apparent' culprit which appears to be Lightroom's new print pipeline. I say 'apparent' as the tests I've done so far show that my workaround isn't needed for InDesign, Illustrator or Photoshop running on the same platform and drivers as Lightroom. If anyone can get 'those who really know' at Adobe to openly describe the above then please do so as this will help with my other avenues of enquiry at Apple and Epson.
As Doyle said for those who custom profile their machines, myself included, the current situation is that we've got a workaround but not a solution. I consider this to be an ongoing quest until it turns into a reliable, user-friendly solution.

I copied some photos to my iPhone 4 from my PC. They went into a folder called 100andro. I can't now get to that folder to delete them. Any idea?... Anyone?

This sounds like the 100andro album was created on the PC and synced from the computer. The best option would be to move the unwanted images from the album you are syncing. The other option would be to create an album specifically for your iOS device, put photos you want in that album and only sync that album.
To delete synced photos and videos from your device
In iTunes, click the Device button in the upper right corner. (If viewing the iTunes Store, click the Library button in the upper-right corner first.)
Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
Note: To delete all synced photos, deselect "Sync Photos from" and, when asked, click "Remove photos."
Click Apply.

Unit totally locked up. now get startup sound and blank screen with red circle with line thru it.
My Macbook is about 4 years oId. I was doing an Excel spreadsheet(apple office suite), went for a short break, on first keystroke the unit totally locked up with the spinning beachball. My mouse could move that around but that was all it could do. After about 4 minutes, needed to force quit it by holding down start up button. let it sit for a couple of minutes and then tried to restart it. I now get the start up chime followed after a short spell with a grey screen with a red circle with a red line though it right in the middle of the screen. tried about 3 more times with the same result. I hope it isn't dead because my project was about 95% complete and just about ready to print.
Any ideas how to revive the ol' girl?Thanks for the info. Unfortunately more serious then that. took unit to the apple repair techies and needed to replace hard drive. It had a total catastrophic failure and none of the info was recoverable That is a bummer as my last project was quite time consuming and almost complete. Good news I guess is I now have a much larger hard drive memory. Also had them put in much more RAM so now she is purring like a kitten again and a lot faster. Hopefully it will be a while before the swirling beachball of death appears. Thanks again for trying to help.
