Put on a password yesterday to lock my ipod ...can't remember it... don't have wifi and tried with cpu but no success

Put a new passcode on my ipdo touch yesterday...can't remember it tried re-setting it with cpu connection as i don't yet have wifi.  no success.  does any one know the secret to this mystery

Place the iPod i recovery mode and then connect it to its syncing computer and restore via iTunes. For recovery mode:
