Put PB Ti to sleep - open it and no Airport
This is getting really annoying - I have a last of the line PB G4 Ti 1ghz with 1GB RAm running OSX 10.4 tiger. Use Belkin PreN router in the house and run G5 D2.3Ghz with Airport card as well. The problem only occurs when you close lid of PB to put to sleep. It also happens in public WiFi zones like hotels etc. Comes up with not connected to internet and when you look for networks it's all blank - doesn't remember a thing! I run Safari, mail and Skype on a regualr basis.
Any ideas? Cheers

I noticed something unusual about my eMac a couple of days ago. When I put it to sleep, it delays doing so for some 30-40 seconds. It has done this consistently for the past two days. It used to go to sleep immediately when I clicked "Sleep" in the blue Apple dropdown menu. Everything else seems to be working O.K., although the computer is a bit sluggish at times. Once in sleep mode, the computer wakes up immediately when you press a key so things seem related to placing it into initial sleep mode. I ran the Apple Hardware Test CD that came with my computer. It said my hardware was O.K. I ran Disc Utility. It said my disc was fine. I checked Energy Saver under System Preferences, but I don't see anything there that obviously relates to my issue.
I'd really appreciate any suggestions anyone may be able to make to help me resolve this question. I guess I'm a bit skittish about my eMac 'blowing up'. I just replaced the hard drive about a month ago and am worried about the machine's integrity even though it seems to be working fine in a general sense. The computer is just over two years old.

Do you typically have any programs open when you put the Mac to sleep? Try closing all open programs first. You can check the Dock for anything indicated other than Finder (and Widgets if running OS 10.4), or use command-option-escape to bring up the Force Quit dialog to check for anything besides the Finder.
Try force-quitting the Finder just before putting the Mac to sleep and see if that affects the behavior.
With all applications closed, just before putting the Mac to sleep, open Applications> Utilities> Activity Monitor and take note of what processes are running. If there are any you don't recognize as the usual Unix / OS X ones, you can use the questionable processes to check out Login Items and StartupItems (if not sure about the processes, and they do follow the Unix tradition of cryptic names, you can post back with the top %CPU users).
You can also use Activity Monitor, sorted by %CPU usage, to check why the computer appears sluggish at times. A large % given over to TrueBlueEnviron, for instance, indicates something amiss with Classic running in the background, something that seems to pop up randomly under 10.4.x (use System Preferences> Classic to quit Classic in that case).
You can also use a third-party utility such as OnyX to run maintenance scripts (which in OS X versions prior to 10.4 don't run if you have the computer in system sleep during the early morning hours) and also to clear logs and caches; that can significantly speed up the computer.
Have you recently added any new peripherals, especially USB ones? Or even moved the cables of existing peripherals? Noise and signal reflections on USB lines in particular are often assocaited with sleep problems. A quick way to check that is to disconnect all peripherals other than keyboard and mouse and see if the problem disappears; if it does, add the devices back one at a time, testing after each addition to determine which device (or it's cable) is at fault. -
My iTunes v.10.6.3.25 is intermittently refusing to open. Sometimes re-booting my laptop works, sometimes not. I just put the computer to sleep, and when I woke it up, iTunes started automatically (I had been trying to open it just before by clicking on a song file in my Documents window, and that's the song that started playing when the pc woke up). I went to my iTunes Help and clicked Updates/download iTunes 10.7 twice, but got nothing. Now, Im wondering if I should downloacd the entire 10.7, or whether that would overwrite all my files, erasing my songs. Anybody know? Thanks.

Here's what I did:
First I tried the Winsock reset in the Command prompt. Nothing changed.
Next, I tried the instructions on http://http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4123. The only other program that came up on the 'Winsock Providers' tab on the program was 2 Windows Live applications, which I can do without. So I deleted all Windows Live Applications.
I did the Winsock reset in the Command Prompt again and rebooted my comp.
Unfortunately, nothing has changed. iTunes keeps freezing at various stages of the sync, then shows the candy cane-striped bar with either the words 'Finishing sync' or 'Cancelling sync', before showing the Apple logo.
Sometimes, iTunes gets to the syncing stage - "Copying # of ####" - where it will trudge through the first, second and third tracks before flashing "Copying 4 of ####" for a split second and I catch "Cancelling sync" briefly before the Apple logo appears.
Again, I've repeated the steps I mentioned in my previous post. Does ANYONE know when the new version of iTunes is set to be released?! This one is driving me INSANE, to say the least!! -
I used the wrong password to join my new belkin wifi. Now that I have the correct password, I can not get the to the join screen with the space to type in the password. I continue to get the unable to join message. I have put the touch to sleep and I have turned on and off the wifi and join options on the Network screen page. Does anyone know how to get pass this block of the wrong password to a new page that will allow me to type in the correct password. I see there is a option that asks if I want to reset the network settings.. is that what I should do? and what does it erase when I do that? Thanks for any input anyone has.
Yes. Reset network settings. Head to Settings -> General -> Reset and tap Reset Network Settings.

Sometimes after putting my iMac to sleep, I cannot get it to wake up again. It's as if it's shut down and I have to turn it off at the mains and restart it. Any ideas why? Does this keep happening to anybody else?
That message means that you have to restore the iPad now. Something went wrong. You need to restore the iOS software and then restore from the backup.
Read this carefully and follow the instructions. Make sure that you restore from your backup at the end of the process. That is covered at the bottom of the support article.

ipone 4s display suddenly doesn't work any more. most of the time i can't even unlock my iphone as it puts the numbers itself. and if i am lucky to unlock it opens apps and does everything else whenever my finger comes near the display without even touching it. I did reset and also updated my operating system. But the problem stills shows up... can anyone help please?

Had to start Firefox in safe mode cause it kept crashing after i deleted the file. Now Fire fox Crashes every time I open it and I have to put it in safe mode just to use it, also it's not syncing with my iPad.
If you use Norton software, try disabling your Norton extensions. As of last week, there were severe compatibility issues with Firefox 24.

The box appears after I'm on the internet. It's on my desktop when I go to shut down my computer and after I've shut down the internet. When I click on the x it doesn't disappear. When I click on the box indicating Yes, I'd like to update my version of Firefox it does nothing. If I leave this box there and put my computer to sleep it stays on and actually prevents me from entering the internet! I need to restart my computer or shut down! My computer is a MacBook Pro and is only one year old .
They have to know who the person is who has their account set up wrong? Do you know who they are or how to identify them?
if not, how do you expect Verizon to find which user that is?
Best thing for you to do is set up a mail filter and just throw those into the trash or delete them the second they come into your email box.

I'm trying to install Adobe PS CS3 for my boss on an other computer. I put the Program on a hard disc and copied it to the other computer now it won't open and says it needs the license. What can I do to make it work on this computer?
Copying the program over to a new machine will not work. Install it using installation files and activate it using the serial number assigned to the license.

I know it must be something system wide as it happens in apps other than Pages.

Laptop goes back to sleep after closing and opening lid
When I close the lid to put the computer to sleep and then reopen the lid, the computer comes back on briefly and then goes back to sleep. It will come back on if I unplug the SafMag. I've reset the SMC following the on-line instructions; I currently have SMC firmware 1.41f2.
Any advice?

When I put my mac in sleep mode I get an error message and I have to click on it and then select whethere to play on computer or airport express. This was not true with the old Itunes but with this new version it is true. Any help?
well nobody bothered to give me a hint on what to do, maybe because the problems with the new version of iTunes are really a lot, there is an enormous amount of people out there that have all sort of different problems including mine so I have decided to return to the previous version which works fine and wait untill the apple people come up with a decent product ....

Hi, I'm trying to shut down the phone in the normal way (the Sleep / Wake button and hold down on the Close tab) turns off the display after a while yet, but the phone turns off completely opens up the phone to come out after the apple logo .. What is the reason I'd appreciate if you help how to fix it ...pleasa help me
Doing those doesn't turn off your phone?
As stated hold down the top button only until you see the red slider to power off your phone.
If that doesn't work then take it to Apple and see what they say.
