Putaway strategy for rack storage and floor

HI
we have define one warehouse room as One Storage Type. its rack storage . Storage unit
managed . in each storage bin one Su (pallet) can be placed. Some times we keep stocks (on pallets) on the floor
(Pallets in one layer). No of Pallets(SU) is defined at that floor, say 100 pallets can be placed on the floor.
we need Capacity check method = 2 (Check based on palletization accord. to SUT 1).
Which Putaway strategy should be applied for this storage type.? considering 1 bin = 1 pallet and Pallets on the floor.
thanks & regards
thomas

Hi Hein
yes, creating seperate storage type for racking and floor is a solution.
but if we want to keep it as whole room as One Storage type.
what you think about   putaway strategy "P" Pallet putaway strategy.   if we consider floor as speerate BIN TYPE and define BIN TYPE and SUT  permitted .  And Allowed SU in that BIN TYPE.
your opnion please.
thanks & best regards

  • [WM] Putaway strategy for bulk storage type SU-managed

    Hi Gurus,
    I need your help
I have a Bulk storage type with SU-managed. I would undestand the real behaviour of putaway strategy B.
    1)  Case 1: assume that in bulk storage type there are the followed bins (rows):
    - in bin XX1 there is material AAA
    - Bin XX2 is empty
In this situation if i receive material AAA, putaway strategy B chooses the bin XX1 by background processing - correct!
    2) Case 2: assume that in bulk storage type there are the followed bins (rows):
    - In Bin XX1 there is material AAA
    - in Bin XX2 there is material AAA
    - in Bin XX3 there is material AAA
In this situation if i receive material AAA, i don't undestand the behaviour of putaway strategy B. Seems that the system chooses in random way the bin (XX1, XX2 and XX3).
P.S: the storage unit type is one of default - E1.
    Can you help me?
    Thank very much

    You told
    Addn to Stock: X
    Block upon placement: empty
Then How can you have Case 2?
In Bin XX1 there is material AAA
Next time also stock goes to XX1 only not XX2 unless you overwrite manually.
What does your block strage structure looks like? i'm sorry but i don't undestand your question.
Go to OMM4 "Define-Block struct." and look No. SUs for your St. bin type, SUT & Bulk stor Ind.

  • Putaway strategy for mixed pallets

    Hi guys,
I need your suggestion to determine the correct putaway strategy. This is the scenario: We have a rack which will stock mixed pallets (more than one material) in the same bin. We want the same behavior of the putaway strategy I u201CAddition to existing stocku201D. In order to control the capacity of the bins Iu2019ve configure the Capacity check method 4 u201CUsage check based on materialu201D and try to control the capacity by volume, however, this measure is not realistic because in a pallet exist a lot of space that will not be consume by the material (in this case, books).
    Example:
    1 Pallet = 1.000 CM3
    1 Book = 1 CM3
    Consume of material = 1
    Bin capacity = 1000
In this case, de capacity check will let stock 1.000 UN of material in the bin, but the true is that one pallet could only contain 700 UN.
I try to get the consume materialu2019s amount dividing the bin capacity by the total quantity of a pallet (Consume of material = 1000 / 700) but this could only works for NOT mixed palletsu2026
A possible solution is the Pallet strategy, but I have the same error. You define the pallet quantity at material level, so I have the same problem for the mixed pallets. Can I indicate the system which materials will go together before the TO creation?
Any suggestion will be really appreciated!

  • Using an external HD for both storage AND Time Machine?

Bear with me guys, I'm not sure where to put this question. I figured that because my Macbook Air (and it's limited storage space) was the reason for my needing an external HD I thought this would be the best place.
My MBA has run out of storage and I bought a Seagate External HD to move my stuff onto. I guess my question is: What's the best way to combine the external HD with the MBA? Here are a few of the things on my mind:
-Most of the space is taken up by my user folder right now such as itunes, photos, etc. If I copy that folder to the external drive it would alleviate a large part of my issue, at least for the time being. Eventually I will hit the storage capacity as I add applications over time I guess, so this is a temporary solution (although I free up 27gb of space this way). Can I designate a folder on the external drive as the default for programs like imovie and iphoto like I can with itunes?
-I KNOW there is a way to set the external drive as some kind of default drive but is this feasible? It would be a hinderance if I needed to have it connected at all times to access even applications (which I assume to be the case?
-I also wondered about partitioning the external HD and using one partition for additional storage and the other for time machine? It's a 1TB hard drive, and I figure I could make a 100GB partition to use with time machine (my MBA only has a 64gb capacity) and use the other 900GB for files. Is this even possible or does time machine need it's very own separate drive?
Anyway, this doesn't necessarily ask many specific questions and I apologize if it appears a little disjointed. I'm looking for help and opinions on the best way to use this new piece of equipment to compliment my MBA. Any thoughts are appreciated.

While it is possible to partition an external drive and use one partition for files and the other for Time Machine, there's actually very little point in doing so. The reason is that in your scenario, you'd be storing all your files on the external, meaning that pretty much all there would be on your MBA internal drive is MacOS and your applications - the very things you can easily restore in the event of failure - while all your files would be on the external, where they are not being backed up.
It is also possible to use an external drive as the boot drive for the MBA (easiest done by cloning the internal drive to a partition on the external, and then setting that partition as the startup drive in the Startup Disk preference pane) but that would still require you to wipe at least some of your files from the internal, and mean that the contents of your external drive are not being backed up. It would also mean that your MBA would run pretty slowly when booted from the external.
Rather better, in my view, would be to use the external as the primary store for all non-essential files - your complete iTunes library and all your documents, files, video, photos etc, and then copy back to the MBA just those items you actually need for any day or week's activities. Then get a second external to use for backing up the first!

  • I pay $3.99 a month for 200gb storage and in my settings it says I have 166gb left, however I keep geting popup messages on my iphone5 that im out of storage and I cant take pictures etc, any suggestions?

I pay $3.99 a month for 200gb storage and in my settings it says I have 166gb left, however I keep geting popup messages on my iphone5 that im out of storage and I cant take pictures etc, any suggestions?

The money you are spending is for iCloud storage. The warning you are getting is in reference to storage on the iPhone. You cannot increase the storage on the iPhone except to delete content on the device. If you want to take more pictures, you need to remove some content from the device to create room on the iPhone.

  • Putaway strategy for bin

    Hi SAP Guru
I have an issue in my WMS setup.
I currently assigned Storage Type XXX for palletization. PUTAWAY STRAT : P
    Mixed Storage : X
    Addition to Stock : X
In the master Data setup i have input the palletization information already under SUT IP.
For Material X = 100 GM for each pallet ( IP)
For Material Y = 200 GM for each pallet ( IP)
For each storage bin i have dividied into 4 sections ( or quants )
so bascially naming convention will be like this
    C11000 / 1
    C11000 / 2
    C11000 / 3
    C11000 / 4
Now the issue is, when I create a TO for material X ( 10GM) , the system will automatically propose the bin.
The system will assign the material to bin C11000 / 1
If i create another TO for material X (5GM) different batch, the system will automatically propose the bin
The system will assign material X to bin C11000 / 2.
    IF i create TO for material Y ( 10GM )
The system will assign material Y to bin C11000 / 3.
Should the system fill in C11000 / 1 before moving on to C11000 / 2 and so on?

Thanks alot , it was alot of help.
Is there a way , where I can divide the bin in to 4 pallet?
I understand you can use the capacity usage check at bin level.
It would be nice if you could comment on the logic I have with how this work.
    Material X is palletized ( WM2 ) , 10000GM = IP
    Material Y is palletized ( WM2) , 20000GM = IP
I have activated Cap Check for storage type XXX with 5
I have enter the LET capacity usage for SUT ( OMM1) as 1
For the bin master data, i have put the capacity usage as 4.
So bascially the effect will be, for Material X , i can putaway 40000GM of goods into this bin
Material Y can putaway 80000GM of goods into this bin
The bin can handle 20000GM of Material X and 40000GM of Material Y ( Mixed storage )
    Thanks for the help !

  • Strategy for selecting Storage Unit for Transfer Order Creation

    Hi ppl,
I need to understand what strategy is used by SAP to determine the storage unit while creating a transfer order for delivery using transaction LT03.
It seems that the system selects the SU randomly, but, in the backend, there should be some strategy.
Please let me know how to find this.
    Regards.

    Hi,
Check the storage type indicator assignment value in the stock removal field  in the material master Warehouse management1 tab.
Then go to SPRO->Logistics Execution ->Warehouse management->Strategies -> stock removal startegies. Check the stock removal strategies for the warehouse and storage type (from material master) data. From this data you can understand the details on system proposals.

  • How to set same domain name for Azure Storage and Hosted Service

I have a web application running on azure and using azure storage with blob. My application allows to edit html files that are in the azure storage to save with another name and publish them later. I am using javascript to edit the html content that
I display in an Iframe but as the domain of my web application and the html that I try to edit are not the same, I got and this error "Unsafe JavaScript
attempt to access frame with URL "URL1" from frame with URL "URL2". Domains, protocols and ports must match".
I have been doing some research about it and the only way to make it work is to have the web application and the html that I want to access using javascript under the same domain.
So my question is: is it possible to have the same domain name in azure for the hosted service and the storage.
    Like this:
    hosted service: example.com
    storage: example.com
By the way I already customize the domain names so they looks like this:
    hosted service <mydomainname>.com
    storage <blob.mydomainname>.com
Actually I have my application running in another hosting and I have no problem there since I have a folder where I am storing the files that I am editing so they are in the same domain as the application. I have been thinking in to do the same with Azure,
at least to have a folder where I can store the html file meanwhile I am editing it but I am not sure how much space I have in the hosted service to store temporary files.
let me know if you have a good tip or idea about how to solve this issue.

    Hi Rodrigo,
Though both Azure Blob and Azure applications support custom domain, one domain could have only one DNS record (in this case is CNAME record) at one time. For Steve's case, he has 3 domains, blog.smarx.com, files.blog.smarx.com and cdn.blog.smarx.com.
    > I would like to find a way to storage my html page that I need to edit under the same domain.
For this case, a workaround will be adding a http handler in your Azure application to serve file requests. That means we do not use the actual blob url to access blob content but send the request to a http handler then the http handler gets the content
from blob storage and returns it.
    Please check
Accessing blobs in private container without Shared Access Secret key for a code sample.
    Thanks.

  • HT5622 Rented a movie and said my iCloud was full so I paid 20 for more storage and it still says not enough storage in cloud to download

Rented a movie for for iPad, said my cloud was full so I paid 20 for more space and still says it can't download because of lack of space

To be able to download a film onto your iPad you need enough space on your iPad : Settings > General > About > Available - the film's description page should say how large it is, but some HD films are 5.5 gig +
The iCloud storage that you've bought give you extra space for your iCloud backups, it won't give you extra space for downloading.

  • Strategy for iLife storage with Macbook Pro

My iMac recently died and I just ordered a new Macbook Pro.  It only has 256GB of internal storage and I would rather not fill that up with my iPhoto, iMovie, iTunes libraries among other things.  So I will definitely have some form of external storage attached to this while at my desk workstation.  My question revolves around the ability to use the iLife products in basically an offline mode while the Macbook Pro is with me at work or at the office.  I realize the answer to iTunes is to do a Match type of service where everything can be streamed.  But for the others, if I want to work with photos or movies while travelling (not necessarily edit/view existing ones that are the home storage) is this possible?
If you have any suggestions, I would love to hear them before I make any additional purchases.
    Thank you.

will using an external burner be better quality?
Ext. Burners tolerate burning multiple copies with fewer read / write errors better than the stock internal S-Drive that come built into many mac laptops. Stock drives heat up faster than external burners do for the most part. So the answer is, it's very possible you will get slightly better results with an external burner as opposed to an internal laptop S-Drive when burning back to back copies.
I recommend using Verbatim Dvd-r media and burning from a disc image at 4x or slower for best results.

  • Putaway Strategy for replenishment of fixed bins - SU destination bin

My client is using ECC 6.0 Retail and using WM.
After creating the TR for the replenishment of the fixed bins according to the bin situtation using LP21, we create TOs using LB11 for article. At the TO creation, the system creates a new Quant and automatically proposes the SU#  from the source bin to the destination bin. We allow addition to stock but not mixed SUs. However you can manually overwrite and input the current SU destination bin but this is very time consuming. Is there a way to have this process done automatically?
    Thanks Gaetan

    Hi Gaetan,
It seems this topic is extremly important recently...e.g.:
    Addition to storage unit
I'm not aware of anything in standard SAP that would help you to realize your scenario. (if it is very important maybe it should be indicated to SAP AG. However, in a WH where SU management is active the material flow is realized trough SUs > if warehouse workers add the stock physically from one SU to other SU it means additional work for them physically and therefore in SAP too).

  • External storage for early 08 mac pro for video storage and editing

    Early 08 Mac Pro mod 3.1, 2x Intel 2.8 Quad Core Processors. Bus speed 1.6 Ghz.  10 GB DDR2 FB-Dimm 800 MHz. USB2, Firewire 400, 800. ATI Radeon HD 2600 PCIe 256 mbVRAM.  Currently running OS 10.6.8.
I use machine for photo and video storage and editing. I tried using 2x 3TB and 2x1TB HDD internally ( 8 TB total).  All are Seagate Barracuda SATA 7200.  Experienced constant spinning wheel and lockup requiring manual shutdown.  I had upgraded to Lion and to Maverick.  Did not help so I did a clean install of primary with  Snow Leopard and did not install past 10.6.8.  Works now if I don’t exceed 3.5 TB internally.  I also discovered that my Disk Permissions experienced voluminous corruption that could not be repaired if I installed  Java for Mac OS 10.6 Update 17 as suggested each time I check for software updates.
I need to be able to have a total of about six TBs available in my system for storage and editing of video via Imovie. I don’t know the maximum of HDD storage that can be used in the four internal bays without causing lockup and corruption. If 3.5 TB is about the max, then I would like to have some ability to have external storage via firewire 800 if that would facility fast enough transfer for either video edition and or playback. I don’t know if thunderbolt can be installed via PCI card. I could add a SATA PCI card.  However, I assume that would cause the same problem as experienced with 8 TBs installed internally in the four bays.
    I would appreciate any suggestions.

Do you mean 2x2TB and 2x3TB for a total internal capacity of 10TBs?  Are you running Snow Leopard or something else? Actually, I took it to an authorized repair facility who ran checks and said nothing is wrong with the hardware.
Yes, I've got a total of to TB and I'm running Snow Leopard.  If your hardware checks out, that pretty much makes it a software problem,,,  reinstall the OS?
Does the High Point Technologies SATA3 PCIe connect to eternal drive enclosures or does it somehow connect to drives in some of your four internal bays?
Highpoint makes several RocketRAID 2700 series SATA3 controllers for Mac with external mini-SAS connectors, probably the cleanest/least expensive external hook-up. They also offer a combo internal/external board that (for marketing reasons) is listed as not working for internals with Mac Pro.  I believe that this is due to pressure from Apple (who apparently does some business with High Point Tech) but to the best of my knowledge it will. Technically, the "not supported" statement is true since all the internal bays are tied to the motherboard SATA 2 controller, but this can be remedied with a special cable.  HOWEVER... the boards are not bootable, so your system disk needs to be on the motherboard controller.
In truth, I bought one of their 8-port "internal only" boards designated for PC only and flashed it so the Mac Pro sees it as a 2722 board, so I have 8 internal ports.  I'm not recommending you do the same unless you're pretty geeky, but the 2721 would give you half-and-half or the 2722 would give you 8 external with no mods to the board.

  • Release Strategy for inter Storage Loc Material transfer within same Plant

    Hi Guru's
I hope all are doing good. I gota small concern to share with you. Is it possible to apply Release Strategy between two Storage Locations within same Plant for Material Movement?

Release Strategy cannot be assigned in material document.
However you can restrict this at authorisation level for T code MIGO_TR.

  • TimeCapsule for combined storage and backkup

    Hi
Currently our mac household consists of:
    2 x macbooks
    1 x apple tv
My macbook's hard drive is constantly full as a result of my apple tv backing up shows to it and a number of home videos in iMovie.
I tried changing my iTunes library to an external HD, but if the HD is not plugged in and I turn on iTunes (to say manage my iPhone) it starts backing up to my laptop again. (It is also a pain to have to plug in an external HD, everytime I want to access the library, especially if my laptop is not at my desk)
I was hoping TimeCapsule could be used the following way...
1/ Provide shared storage space where both MacBooks can setup separate iTunes libraries on the Time Capsule hard drive.
2/ Sync to Apple TV, so all purchases are stored on TC and not our personal laptops.
3/ Plug in an external HD to Time Capsule to actually use the Time Machine software
4/ Using Time Machine, backup content from the two macbooks, apple tv, and files on the Time Capsule HD, to the connected external HD. (This way, I can just plug in the external HD once a week to do a Time Machine backup)
Hope this makes sense and someone can advise if this is possible.
Just looking for a neat, wireless solution to manage all our files in one place.
    Many thanks
    Parker

OK. Yes, the TC could be used only for data storage as opposed to a TM backup drive. The drive you plan to use for TM will need to accommodate the two Macs with 160 GB drives each (would you plan to put in larger drives anytime soon?) AppleTV has either a 40 or 160 GB drive. Assuming the larger one then you have 480 GBs on the three hard drives meaning you need at least a 1 TB drive for TM. However, if you expect to put larger drives in the two Macs, then you should plan ahead for that, and perhaps get a 2 TB drive for backup so you have future capacity.
Now you also should make plans for backing up the TC. Will you do that separately or do you plan to use the TM backup drive to backup the TC's drive? If you plan to use the TM drive for this, then you need to factor in the TC's drive capacity into the capacity needed for the TM backup drive.
Now this in part is why you may wish to use the TC for the TM backup, because it's much easier to add future storage extenrally then in the TC. The TC may be perfect for handling the two Macs and the AppleTV. External devices may prove better for your storage needs. For example two 1 TB drives can be configured in a mirrored RAID such that one drive is a backup for the other, and this is handled transparently through the RAID configuration. Just some additional things to think about (or confuse the matter. )
